    JB thank you so much! For me the bit I needed most out of the video was at 4:51, where you keep your weight back a bit whilst you place the deck onto the coping, then rock your weight forward. using this method I got consistent at rock-in. then 10 mins later... surprised myself by doing my first spine transfer!

A 10inch proper like Santa cruise/Peralta board with a even width and 2 kicks, PARIS V3 150mm trucks... 97mm evolve wheels AND bones bearings plus 4 risers on each truck, one soft piggy riser at the deck THEN a half inch grey dog town riser on either side of a 3/8 dog town riser with 2.5 inch hardware... That's the utopian golden age for ya!!!! It does all the cycle paths through palace town super kowahe.... Awesome!

    One thing that might help people get confidence going over the coping is climbing kerbs (without an ollie) its the same principle but over something much bigger, and its surprisingly easy, I can do it comfortably going fast without even touching the nose, the weight shift will carry you over.

    Stomp on bushing to compress bottom skateboard bushing plenty before tightening bushing or else over tight top bushing to achieve tight!
    The bushing that's near the nut of the kingpin is like just to hold the hanger against the barrel bushing and the hanger when you stand on the skateboard flips the up against the barrel bushing causing pressure on the barrel bushing and the bushing thats against the kingpin nut is also to allow movement of the hanger that presses against the barrel bushing so pressure should be applied first to the barrel bushing by standing on the skateboard and riding the skateboard so the tightness is achieved by compression on the barrel bushing that's caused by standing on the skateboard and then the kingpin nut should not be over tightened and should be tightened slowly after multiple days of riding your skateboard firstly loose so the bushing closer to the kingpin does not first cause compression on the barrel bushing before the hanger because that will over compress your bushing that's closer to the kingpin nut causing unnecessary wear and compression on the bushing closer to your kingpin nut! This means to ensure you have the best tight but well tuned skateboard trucks you must get quality bushings on and skate on your skateboard plenty to cause compression of the barrel bushing via the hanger being stood on when you ride your skateboard whilst the kingpin nut is loose before you move the kingpin nut further tighter to push your other bushing that's close to the kingpin nut towards your deck more or else you may damage your bushing that's closer to the kingpin nut trying to tighten the barrel bushing that just going to then be squashed more anyway.

    Hey JB!
    I absolutely adore your content and I've got a question - could you do a video for beginners more orientated in cruising around the street (getting over cracks, small curbs etc.) so you don't have to stop?
    I'd really appreciate that!

    • @holly6157
      @holly6157 10 месяцев назад

      I also want that video! What I do for going up small curbs is treat it like a spine kind of: I lift my front wheels up, then my back wheels to get over the edge. Going down curbs is a small manual, but you can actually make it through small drops without lifting your front wheels if you balance right. For cracks, I either push through them (time your pushing so your foot's on the ground for the crack) or approach them fast and muscle through them. I'm not an expert though and this is just what I figured out for myself through experience

    Hello skatepark pro... I got a nice looking $15 waterproof upto 50M submerged digital wrist watch from Jmart and fastened it using zip tyes to my old speedometer mount on the handles bars of my bike via weaving the zip tyes through the strap holes of the watch and going around the handle bars of my bike diagonally around the watch strap with the zip tyes so now I have a super epic and pre installed bike clock that has a back light button to be telling me what time it is when I'm riding my bike without needing a expensive bike computer that's not as waterproof... HOPEFULLY!!!!!!
    Amazon has nice 100m waterproof watchers for $47 half price rite now too!!!

    when ever i rock over the spine my front foot never leaves ollie position, when i get to the apex of the rock i just take my back foot off the board momentarily and it pings back to my back foot so then I am at comfortable angle to rock over the spine everyone says its super weird but looks more fluid than riding down on your nose for a second

    • @SkateparkLessons

      Many people do that, and they can make it work for going straight over; but what if you do a slide transfer over? Or what if you try it on a bigger ramp? Steeper ramp with more hang up risk.
      Learning it the right way works best so you can transfer over any spine 💙🛹💙
