Rather than use painter's tape, I mark my lines with bright sidewalk chalk. It's easy to lay down, easy to see, and always washes away clean with rain! And it's great for making the whole park an art piece :D
Thin riser pads are crucial for proper wheel clearance and avoid wheel bite, especially decent size diameter wheels 58-64mm are essential for carving, turning, riding skatepark transition, vertical etc.
Good advice! Those are some HUGE and Heavy wheels! Riser pads are essential for wheels that size for sure if you want to have loose trucks. I ride 54 so I can keep the weight to a feeling that I like. Anything more than that effects my flip tricks. Thanks Paul 💙🛹💙
@@SkateparkLessons No not huge, considered standard street, park, pool and vert skateboarding. In the late 1970s Kryptonics made wheels in 3 sizes 60, 65 &70 mm diameter and available in 3 durometers 85, 90-2 and 97. Freestyle wheels became smaller 55-60 and smaller in the 1990s, downhill wheels now 70+... 66mm OJ Bullets snd 67mm Powell TBones were the norm for vert ramps since the geometry of the wheels affected one’s ability to go higher and faster. I haven’t bought anything smaller than 60mm in many years. Powell SPF/Skate Park Formula is the fastest I have ridden on smooth surfaces ever, slide great, don’t flat spot and last long time. Individual choice is key. I understand wanting lightweight equipment that’s why I own a Lib Tech 34x9 for street, ditches etc. ☮️

You got this. Listen to JB, map out your rainbow, little by little exaggerate that pump up and go a bit higher each try, use your arms (watch JB”s arms), touch a wheel and then grind the next try. JB is the best skate coach and real great person.

*edit: haha that’s awesome he even mentions grabbing the nose for style points. 🤣 I love doing that shit.” Learned f/s slashs by total accident on a mini-ramp then by total accident again in a bowl my first time skating a bowl. Then did them so often I could do them on anything. There was this mini ramp that was almost 5ft of pure vertical wall with pool coping. That was a tricky one to attempt. I literally had to throw my back truck up the wall to where my board may have possibly been over my eye-level shit was kinda scary. Got to the point that I just naturally began standing up and learning f/s grinds. One day I was just fucking around and just grab the nose of my board, so I guess it’s be a f/s grind-nose grab? I’d literally never seen anyone do it locally and no one was so everyone else in the park kinda saw it some sort of signature trick. Just born out of fucking around and doing it ironically. I pulled on my nose a little too hard one day and lifted my back truck off the coping by an inch on accident and almost ate shit. Then just fucking around again I decided one day, “let’s just see if you can crail grab a f/s grind. Fuck it why not.” Spoilers: It did not end well.
Thanks for your kindness and support David! More Quality videos coming soon! Please help me share this channel with your friends so I can help more people. Have a great skate! 💙🛹💙

Thank so much! Do you ever get wheel bite where it actually makes you fall? My trucks aren't as loose as yours, I get the wheel burn marks, I'm afraid of getting wheel bite carving fast in a bowl.

I have a question about FS 5-0s. In pictures of myself doing a FS slash I'm always looking over my shoulder into the ramp. But when I see pictures of other people doing the same trick, they are always looking at the coping where they are grinding. Should I be looking at the coping instead of over my shoulder?
so ive kinda got these in a concrete old school pool, but in n my head when the wheel hits a metal coping, im coming off the board. wish the coping was more flush to the concrete and not lipped like a scaffolding pole or is that just me
can you offer tips with us that have clown feet? i ride 8.0-8.5 and even 8.5 half my food hangs off the edge when my toes are lined with the edge. messes me up all the time. or am i just bad lol
@@SkateparkLessons i wear 13. i’ve noticed in some of your tips that you give in your videos i physically cannot do or i will lose my balance. i’ve been skating with my feet placed a certain way for years, but could see how it can be dangerous such as when im riding around in a bowl. maybe i need to retrain myself?

Rather than use painter's tape, I mark my lines with bright sidewalk chalk. It's easy to lay down, easy to see, and always washes away clean with rain! And it's great for making the whole park an art piece :D
That works as well! 💙🛹💙

Just got my first one accidentally a few days ago. How’d you know I needed this?! Haha
💙🛹🙌🏽🛹💙
*edit: haha that’s awesome he even mentions grabbing the nose for style points. 🤣 I love doing that shit.”
Learned f/s slashs by total accident on a mini-ramp then by total accident again in a bowl my first time skating a bowl.
Fuck it why not.”
Spoilers: It did not end well.

Thank so much! Do you ever get wheel bite where it actually makes you fall? My trucks aren't as loose as yours, I get the wheel burn marks, I'm afraid of getting wheel bite carving fast in a bowl.

can you do inverts and eggplants on vert cause i can do them on 6ft but not bigger
Time to strap on the knee pads! 💙🛹💙
I have a question about FS 5-0s. In pictures of myself doing a FS slash I'm always looking over my shoulder into the ramp. But when I see pictures of other people doing the same trick, they are always looking at the coping where they are grinding. Should I be looking at the coping instead of over my shoulder?
Yes, watch the coping until your back wheel clears the coping 💙🛹💙
so ive kinda got these in a concrete old school pool, but in n my head when the wheel hits a metal coping, im coming off the board. wish the coping was more flush to the concrete and not lipped like a scaffolding pole or is that just me
Push past your fear and learn to do it into a knee slide, then as you get comfortable with the coping, begin to commit to riding away. 💙🛹💙
@@SkateparkLessons thanks dude :P
can you offer tips with us that have clown feet? i ride 8.0-8.5 and even 8.5 half my food hangs off the edge when my toes are lined with the edge. messes me up all the time. or am i just bad lol
What size shoe? Ultimately an 8.5 fit any adult but you’ll just have to adjust your feet a little more if you wear a 12 and over
@@SkateparkLessons i wear 13. i’ve noticed in some of your tips that you give in your videos i physically cannot do or i will lose my balance. i’ve been skating with my feet placed a certain way for years, but could see how it can be dangerous such as when im riding around in a bowl.
maybe i need to retrain myself?
How do you do these on pool coping that sticks out a good 4 inches? It's so scary to even try!
