Bass Matrix is a book about groove and basslines suitable for beginners, intermediates, or professionals - even without sight reading skills. It provides exciting bass tools for groove design, drumbeat interaction, fingerings, and fill-ins. With this, you'll learn to build a bass repertoire ready for any groove situation, whether in straight or odd meters.
The foundation lies in the language of subdivisions: Every rhythm is divided into groups. And depending on the bass style, such a 'grouping' is then filled with different tonal material. This approach solidifies your sense of rhythm, allowing you to skillfully and flexibly develop your own bass parts, tailored to the needs of the song or track. It's a creativity boost that revs up your bass engine.
The entire journey is accompanied by hundreds of song examples inspired by well-known songs, bands, and bassists. The book spans 296 pages, includes over 400 MP3s, and features drum accompaniment by Ralf Gustke. It contains an extensive Bass-Drum Groove Atlas and a Fill-In Library. Let it groove boldly, nice and easy, in every groove situation and time signature, from 4/4 to odd meters. Navigate effortlessly through various genres: rock, funk, hip-hop, metal, RnB, soul, jazz, Afrobeat, Latin, and more.

Nice playing! Thanks for doing more than 60's stuff. I can hear that it has enough drive to play in a band, which is not really why I'm buying one. I mostly plan to do guitar and bass duo gigs with mine. I am pleasantly surprised that your demo shows that it can do what other bass can do, not just the Beatles thing.

Hi Phil, what about the neck dive on the Club bass? I tried a Hofner violin, sounds amazing, lightweight, but so annoying to hold. Did you try the Verythin? Opinions? thank you

Hey Enrico. I find the club bass works really good, it's probably the shape. strap also made a difference, could hold the bass easier in position, as it is very light anyway. i played the verythin also on that instrument presentation I made for Hoefner - that one has a huge body, very impressive. may favourite is the club bass though... also because of the shape feels the best for me.

There should be a LAW which clearly states that you CAN NOT use effects pedals when doing reviews on what BASSES sound like. Review Effects pedals in Effects Reviews. I own THAT bass. It sounds NOTHING like this. :)

the only law is "no Stairway"

I completely agree with you and hate it when instrument demos are awash in effects, but there's not really anything in the title or description for this video that says this is a review. It's just a performance (presentation) video... :)

@@nickvanwyhe2579 Fender Precision bass with flatwounds for blues. Watch some blues artists here on RUclips and see that 90% use them. I have both of these basses. The Hofner has a deep growl that's more suited for rock.
