In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create this adorable, little round pendant using a 12 mm cabochon and 2 different gauges of wire.
So, let's get started!
............................................................
For materials and tools, you’re going to need:
A Ruler
(X3) 6” segments of 20 gauge round wire
28 gauge round wire for weave
A 12mm round cabochon
Chain Nose Pliers
Round nose Pliers
Flush Cutters
It's not necessary, I recommend having a pair of flat nose pliers as well.

Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
❤❤
WOW
Thanks!
Beautiful creations. What do you use to make the "tinted" look on the wire that makes it look antique?
I use a solution called “liver of sulfur” to age the metal and then polish it with pro-polishing pads to shine it up. I hope that helps. ☺️
Another name for the weave used on the bail is a ladder weave.
Thanks so much!!
Beautiful design ❤ do you use dead soft copper wire for both gauges of wire?
Thanks! Yes I do! ☺️

@@kathleen7954 You're welcome!
Do you have another video on using round wires without weaving? That to me looks so difficult. Sorry. But this is a great tutorial. Thanks. I only have round wire and don’t know if that makes a big difference from flat wires from other tutorials I have seen. For this video instead of weaving can I wrap around?
You could probably wrap all the wires together. I usually prefer to weave because it keeps the wires from bunching. I know of other artists who do just wrap the base wires with thin weaving wire and it looks just fine. ☺️
@@ellieshandcrafted thanks I am so new to this and have not done one yet, but will do one tomorrow. All the videos I have seen use flat wires. Unfortunately I bought round wire because I did not know if it mattered. Thanks for your help.
@@mywifetheartist That is really common for wrapped styles. Although, I didn't have much luck with square and half-round when I first started... Too much twisting. lol. I'm glad I was able to help!
Hey! Great video :) How did u give the pendant that old-looking?
Glad you liked it! I use a liver of sulfur gel solution to darken my pieces. I actually made a video of the process. Here it is! ☺️ How to Use Liver of Sulfur to Darken Your Copper Jewelry

@@ellieshandcrafted You are great! Thanks a lot :)
I'll try something like that with silver and my first ever cut amethyst....wish me luck😅
Best of luck to you!! 🥰
@@ellieshandcrafted thank you😊
@@ellieshandcrafted done...for the first time it is not that bad
You do such a good job most of the time. I would like you to edit your videos with your hands and piece all of the time in frame.
What camera to you use??
I just use my I-phone. ☺️
Great tutorial. I just wished that bail was straightened before the ornamental parts were placed.
Your too quick for a beginner you need to slow down I’ve never done it before
Turn the speed down in settings in the top right. We’re 3 days into 2024. We’re focusing on solutions this year.

Or just pause it until you're ready to move forward lol
