- FINALLY I managed to finish this storyboard idea I had since forever!
Everything is drawn out of memory so there definitely are mistakes with character design. (I usually don't draw TLK stuff)
The anatomy sucks in the tan sketches. (they were drawn in April 2011) XP
Though it is not perfect, I am really satisfied with this overall.
WMM killed the colours but I hope you'll enjoy it!
BTW I hope to make the Japanese version some day. I hope.
(the lyrics are kinda different and/or sung in a different tone)

Even worse: the pride only had two males and as nala married simba, she was probably not his sister, so she had to be simba's cousin / scar's daughter.
(In real life male cubs leave so inbreeding isn't a problem, at least not that much. In TLK they stay and presumably marry their sisters and cousins)
I question whether he even had it to begin with.

that was good. however, i imagined the last verse being more dynamic. for example, i thought after he sings "you belong to me..." he climbs to the very top of pride rock and sings the last line as the camera tracks back showing the desolate land. then lightning strikes as he screams.
just a thought.

Better then the live action adaptation. But that's a really low bar, and this is genuanly a good storyboard.

To be honest, Zazu is kind of a dick when scar asks why he wasn't loved. Most people would comfort someone at that, which might actually have helped him. As opposed to listing all of his flaws, which obviously doesn't help at all. It's completely understandable for scar to be the way he is, because everyone around him treated him awfully.
To be fair, Scar is also a compulsive liar and in this scene, slowly going insane. It's equally possible that he was fishing for compliments (i.e, moaning "NOBODY LOVES ME!" and expecting someone to swoop in and be all like "Awww you poor babby!") or just delusional.
CJCroen1393 True, though people are rarely compulsive liars or delusional for no reason. That said, in retrospect, it is also understandable for everyone to treat him badly after what he did, regardless of if it will likely only make him go further into insanity.
CJCroen1393 actually he wasn't loved as a cub that's a true thing. Its in the comics "the tale of two brothers" i mean his name is Taka that literally mean "trash" "dirt" is swahili so no wonder he is fucked up like this now

In my opinion, Scar was a messed-up individual from the beginning. It just took him becoming king for the worst of his behavior to appear. I see where you’re coming from with that quote, though.

Well that’s was amazing I loved the part where scar goes crazy. And the part where he says you all belong to me. Maybe that’s the reason why they cut some of the parts out of the movie because of how scary it was but I think if they didn’t cut it from the lion king or originally called king of the jungle I think it would really explain scar mental sate.

It's not just you, I can see why it was cut from the movie
It wasn't in the movie to begin with, it's from the Broadway version. The movie, however, had two reprised of Be Prepared originally, and one of them was somewhat similar to this song
they kept in hellfire from the hunchback of notre dam and thats one of the best villains songs of all time
and yet in the 50s movie of 'Oklahoma' they cut 'Lonely Room' - that gets pretty stalkerish/obsessed really quickly but that show's for adults as well as children.

...You know there's an original storyboard/sound pairing from the actual studio somewhere on the internet? Since I found it, I've been wanting someone to maybe do some line-work and color that in so it's less jarringly different from the rest of the film, then set something up so that you can take a digital video of the original movie and watch it with those parts re-added.
It was removed because it breaks up the narrative a bit and the rape-implications are a bit darker than they wanted the movie to be, but I think if you're gonna watch the movie a second time, they'd be nice to have in there....

IIRC, Zira wasn't Scar's mate, really, but was a devoted follower of him in the Outlands and had children so that Scar could chose to train one (Kovu) as his heir.
