  • This 2-owner, primarily California residing, 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 is ready for the next phase of its life. This vehicle has been very well maintained over the years and currently has 256,012 miles on it. Originally shipped to the dealer in late July of 1995, it was sold to an owner in Tennessee in September of that year who purchased it for use as a corporate vehicle. It accrued approximately 13k miles a year until it was sold to a new owner in late 2000 and moved to California at about 72k miles where it would spend the next 22 years and 183k miles. Under the previous owner, the car was repainted in white, the original color. It has a clean title, no history of accidents, and a thorough maintenance record.
The 1995 model year included some big changes for the FJ80 series. ABS became standard as did the full-time 4-wheel drive. The 212 horsepower, 275 lb-ft of torque 1FZ-FE 4.5 inline 6 cylinder, 24 valve engine was, and still is, a beast. Easily capable of more than 300k miles and unmatched reliability, this engine is legendary for Toyota enthusiasts and the off-road community.
Upon taking delivery of the vehicle, the current dealership, PSF Motorsports, has spent time on some of the imperfections in the paint and overall, it looks phenomenal now, although there is some clear coat cracking on the lower portion of the rear hatch, near the bumper. PSF also went through the FJ and updated the distributor, plugs, and wires. A small coolant leak was also observed from the thermostat housing, so the thermostat and housing have now been replaced as well.
This is a great platform to begin a full restoration or off-road, overland build. There is absolutely zero rust. The underside has never been undercoated, and as seen in the pictures and video, it is rust-free and clean. The transfer case operates full-time in 4-High and shifts into 4-Low for those off-road excursions. The electric diff lock switch is intact, however, it appears that sometime prior to current ownership, the locking 3rd members were exchanged for non-locking versions. These are not hard to source and the original equipment on the FJ still allows for these to be hooked up and connected. If your plan is to restore this, the e-locker 3rd members can be sourced, otherwise, there are many other options for better locker upgrades and with the ease of removal that comes with a 3rd member, this wouldn’t be costly or time-consuming to upgrade. A linked suspension and coil springs have this rig riding as well, if not better, than many modern trucks and SUV’s. With a litany of aftermarket support and options available for the FJ80 series Land Cruiser, an off-road build of any caliber would suit this FJ80 well!
Some small things to note are little additions such as a matching center console armrest and a new CD/Radio head unit. At some point it appears the center console armrest was replaced with a light gray FJ80 armrest and the head unit was upgraded from the original Cassette/AM/FM stereo to a compact disc player. The removable face is missing however and since CD’s are also no longer the norm, a more modern, Bluetooth setup may be preferable. The rear latch opens from the inside but the handle on the exterior seems to be disconnected. All the power windows, locks, and cruise control work and it just received a new battery as well. The driver seat looks to have been replaced with a matching but upgraded seat and the passenger seat shows small signs of wear but no rips or tears in any of the seats.
This is a very capable and highly touted rig, the FJ80 has held its value and fulfills its legacy to this day. If you’re looking for a great base platform for a new off-road or overland build, or just want to restore this specimen back to its original glory, give us a call today and we can work with you to make that happen!See a full walkaround video and loads of photos at PSFMotorsports.com
