    i don't know an awful lot about china and chinese culture but if there is one thing im sure about it's that chinese people traditionally put a lot of meaning into colors of the decoration of their houses. the white round lantern sconces weird me out because white is the color of mourning. it's kind of like putting black curtains all over a western style house

    The one thing at kills me about the Pagoda style roofs is that when you look at them from a ground perspective, there's always that unsightly gap on all of the corners between the walls and the curved roof... It looks like the roof is floating instead of resting on the walls

    To be honest,as a Taiwanese, the whole world feels like a travel back in time. I can say all buildings from this world are quite Japanese style on the exterior with western modern interior design and layouts. The so call Chinese-inspired concept gives ancient Chinese city vibes. They all look like temples to me. However, I think it is quite fine that EA depicted the world in such way back in 2009 because people might expect to see a world with strong Chinese aesthetic. I would say architecture in China or even Taiwan nowadays are much influenced by Western style, so it is hard to picture a whole world only pure Chinese things unless they did it as an ancient city.

    me when i remember the japanese word for house 家(いえ) is pronounced like EA 😭😭 (not completely it’s just a funny joke) i wish i knew more about chinese architecture like i do japanese so i could critique these houses better. but it definitely screams stereotypical. the 鳥居 (torī⛩️) gate as the logo is killing me. 😂 also because it’s such a special gate that not just anyone should walk through casually, it’s for entering the shrines sacred space and you should only go in if you’re going to pray- this is a different ramble but i’m just like why EA it’s such a simple google search to figure out chinese vs japanese 🤦🏻‍♀️
    also idk if i’m one to talk since i don’t speak chinese but the chinese characters above the doors don’t look like anything to me and i speak japanese so i know about a couple thousand kanji (漢字; chinese characters) and it looks kind of like a mix of a bunch of characters or just what typical westerners think chinese looks like

    I must say after seeing all three video reviews on the worlds of World Adventures that my favorite world, even if the desert environment is not for me, is Al Simhara (Egypt), that is, compared to the other two worlds the houses present in this scenery seems to me much, much better done. As for Champ Les Sims (France) beautiful landscaping and the landscaping of the various houses very nice, but once you enter one of those houses ... oh my god they are so ugly / half empty or furnished let's say with a rather questionable style. The same argument can be applied to Shang Simla (China) a very beautiful scenario but the house inside let's say that mhe .. I know they are holiday worlds so they didn't spend much time furnishing the houses but maybe I was expecting something better

    • @Rekowcski
      @Rekowcski  2 года назад +2

      I agree, i think Al Simhara is my favourite as well. I like desert worlds (strangetown, strangerville etc), but regardless, it had the most attention, and i think the pyramids are so fun and the most "adventure" style thing happening in the entire pack.
      Champs les Sims is great for people who don't like building, but enjoy furnishing builds... or for getting some nice honeymoon screenshots. Also the wine making seems the most realistic and fun activity/skill in the pack. (i am haunted by "selvadorada culture skill" LOL)
      Shang Simla is... well... a bunch of temples with EA furniture lol. The toriis and koi ponds are also japanese things thrown around the entire world, which bothers me. Also if you want to learn martial arts there should be a school in sunset valley where you can at least learn up to level 5 before you have to fly to China lol

    • @federicagenna9757
      @federicagenna9757 2 года назад +1

      @@Rekowcski Yes the pyramids are so much adventure and fun that make the scenario of Al Simhara, the scenario par excellence for this pack in my opinion, it is called world adventure what could be more adventurous than going to explore a pyramid and find some beautiful treasure hoping not to die inside...
      Probably Champ Les Sims would be my ideal scenario because I'm not good at building but I consider myself good at furnishing, fun fact I sent my sims on vacation for the marriage proposal, it seemed so romantic and they celebrated with some precious nectar XD
      Well yes Shang Simla has several references to Japan as you pointed out, such as the park with the Koi ponds or the Torii, I have almost always sent my sims there to relax because it gives me the idea that it is a very relaxing scenario, where if you want you can go to meditate / train in martial arts or visit some temple and these activities give me the idea of relaxation.
      Anyway yes, it would take a martial arts school in Sunset Valley that maybe it can be saved in the gallery so then you can put it in any other scenario without having to go to Sang Simla to learn the basics and be able to buy the equipment to train at home.

    No way Chinese people will tolerate unbalanced windows... It's just "bad feng shui" hahahah. I'm not expert in traditional Chinese building, but even I find some design decisions are odd. I personally prefer lower angled roofs, put textures only on textiles (I don't think we have a lot of wallpaper) and please more dark wood!
    I think I only see white toilets and sinks throughout my life, so it is pretty correct. But for some reason there are no mirrors over the bathroom sinks.

    Agree with your judgments - lol - the interiors are hideous. Still having fun with your videos - thanks! Have to say, tho, that the marble-topped table is more malachite than jade - hard to say with the lighting but... while sometimes the green in both stones are similar, that dark, dark green banding is almost always malachite.

      you're right, malachite is probably more accurate... it's also prettier than jade i think haha

    WTF is up with Sims 3 and the color green?? Are they trying to mimic the color of the Plumbob? Thankfully they started adding more color variety to the EA builds in Sims 4, but sometimes you’ll still encounter a nasty green bathroom here and there in the base game.
