It's stop motion, yes. And it's a bit time consuming (lots of print screens and video records) but rewarding when it's all done. There are a couple of easy sims 4 stop motion tutorials on youtube to follow. :) you need OBS and Premier Pro or Filmora or DaVinci for editing. :)

Hi, I haven't played the game since I uploaded this video, so I'm not sure if there were new patches. But yes, you need to change your lot to Residential Rental for it to work. 😊

I'm pretty sure they CTRL Z the finished build, while changing where the camera is sometimes. Show the footage in reverse with some effects.
I think they actually go backwards, deleting the build slowly
