Helpful video. You are, however, supposed to bend those metal tabs over at the perforations, so that you have doubled metal at one of the screw holes, according to the instructions.

Just want to say thank you. I spent hours trying to use the stupid cheese grater strip with no luck because the screws weren't recessed enough for the door to close.
Swapping my tabs to the side took 10 minutes tops, and most of that time was carefully trying to move the dishwasher out of its spot.

Great video. We just had quartz countertops installed and had to switch to side mounts into the cabinets. The bracket the countertop installer left me stupefied. I saw this video and realized I could transfer the existing top brackets to the sides. Job done.

Great job. My last dishwasher was a Samsung demo unit and didn't come with the hardware so I just use some long screws in set it, it didn't last they are terrible at making appliances. Now I have a Bosch dishwasher and happy with the unit. Again don't have hardware, but after watching your video, and seeing the slots on the top and the sides. I am using steel strapping the thing with the holes that people use to clamp pipes down. Brand called "Dahl All Round Steel Strapping."

Informative. I will be installing my 500 series tomorrow with a side mount and this really helped. Just being a bit picky, but I do not want to visually see the mounting bracket after the job is complete. Maybe the "weatherstripping" will cover that up or potentially use a Dremel tool to cut the excess off prior to the mounting. Just a thought. Thanks.

I have the exact same cabinet configuration. The manual tells you to bend or fold over the metal bracket between the 2 round holes and the oval hole. Where the bracket is perforated. Don't do this as tthe bracket may not be long enough. It wasn't for me anyway. Do it first like this guy. You might try to drill out the holes first to avoid splitting the rather thin wood you're putting screws in.

Just finished my kitchen remodel. I reskinned the dishwasher and found out that I couldn’t mount it under the quartz countertop. The instructions from Bosh are just the worst. Instructions say fold brackets at the dashed section but nothing else. Thanks for the video.

I think your supposed to break-off the rounded ends of the brackets so they don't stick out, when using them for side-mount.

@@weekendwarrior3420 My 500 series manual also says to fold in the brackets at the perforation for side mount.
Great Video. However, the proper method per the manual is to pend the rounded portion of the bracket back and forth till it breaks off (near the small doted holes) and then attach the brackets into the dedicated side slots to be pend using pliers. There is no mention of attaching the bracket to the dishwasher structure using screws. Thanks again for sharing your method.
My manual overall agrees with the shown installation method. The perforations aren't intended as a means of breaking off any metal, just a line of folding so that the screw hole has double layers of metal. The guy in the video did not do this part correctly. But he also pointed out the holes in the rubber, which my manual did not, so that makes them even.

I understand that there are many comments condemning Bosch regarding their instructions, and thanking you for this video. You should have added a disclaimer, if this method of securing the dishwasher is not done correctly, you WILL destroy a very expensive dishwasher! Also, even if you install the dishwasher correctly using this method, you run the very considerable risk of rendering the dishwasher useless. If you have kids, at any age, and they are rough with that door, you run the very real risk of cracking the plastic along the door seal and tub. Better methods exist using the clips correctly installed at the top of the dishwasher where the clips belong. See any other method using clips designed for stone countertops. Two part epoxy these clips specifically design or this purpose, screw brackets on dishwasher to these clips, boom, perfectly secure dishwasher, and ready for another replacement dishwasher when that time comes..
There is no risk whatsoever if you use the brackets and screws come from manufacture.
What about the kick plate. How in the world is that supposed to attach?
There are screws that should come with the Bosch dishwasher. You use these screws to attach the kick plate.
There's no hole in the side of the dishwasher for the 800 series. The installer doesn't know what to do,

sloppy installation. try following the instructions. the dishwasher is too low under the countertop.
This video shows how to mount Bosch dishwasher to the cabinets. It has nothing to dd with adjusting the height of a dishwasher. You can adjust the dishwasher height with 4 screws located under the dishwasher.
@@josephk9182 yeah, but brackets should be the last step after all leveling is done...
@@josephk9182 and also the round tabs on the brackets sticking out past your cabinet edge should be folded back for side mount so there's no protrusion. The longer tab position would be for under counter mount. You have the right idea, but details matter on an expensive appliance, or even a cheap one for that matter.
@@gregaved You are correct. I leveled the dishwasher but intentionally left a gap of 1/2" between the grant to the dishwasher.
@@gregaved This is incorrect. The brackets are not sticking out of the cabinet. They are flash with the cabinet. The brackets were designed to flash with the cabinet.
