    42 years ago I walked down the aisle on my dad's arm to my husband. Tonight our youngest child is having her first child. More moments to share.

    "Gator" were just 2 more gems of the many songs that Bobby has recorded...If God in heaven ever gave a double blessing of having a beautiful voice for a singer Bobby was right there at the top of His list...

      This was available ONLY on the soundtrack LP for about 2 months and has never been released again in any form. I've known Bobby for years and this is definitely one of his best recordings!

      Bill, Sorry, I have to disagree with you here. "Superdad" never had a soundtrack release. It's possible the radio spots had cuts from the film on them but there was never a commercial album released with the music.

    I swear it sounds like the Beach Boys and Karen Carpenter singing backup! Saw this at the Cross Keys movie theater in Florissant MO in 6th grade. Always remembered the kids singing it at the end. Even as a 12 year old I knew that the key changes made it a beautiful song. Hadn't thought about in years. Was yakking with the wife this Christmas about the Kurt Russell Santa movie and mentioned Kurt Russell being in some old Disney movie with Bob Crane that was funny called Superdad. Only scene I could really remember was the walk down the aisle with the kids singing the the pretty song and with a few google clicks,she said, "Is this it? and poof, it was 6th grade again. Love both versions. Please, someone smarter than me put this somewhere I can download it.

    Appalling movie- really great song. Beautiful changes...written by Shane Tatum, according to IMDB. Hard to find much on him. I would agree that it's the best thing Goldsboro ever sung. My ninth birthday party walked out of this film (forty-one years and five days ago), which is really saying something. I think we'd have walked out of it in-flight.

      @jehobden 8 лет назад +1

      +Surfer Joe I remember seeing this movie on a double-bill with Disney's "Son of Flubber" (B&W movie from 1963) during my winter break in Feb. 1974, when I was in 3rd grade. I remember thinking "Son of Flubber" was a lot funnier.

    • @SurferJoe1
      @SurferJoe1 8 лет назад +2

      Bingo, JH- me, too. Great memory bank ya got there! "SOF" was shown first, probably following a Chip and Dale short. We're the same age and have the same memory. Years later I moved to L.A. and became a Disney artist.

    • @jehobden
      @jehobden 8 лет назад +1

      I remember Superdad was first where I saw it because I'm pretty sure we were late (as usual) and missed the beginning of the movie. I don't remember seeing the opening with this song until a friend brought it home from a video store for us to watch around Oct. 1985. I also noticed that Joe Flynn was in both movies, and I always thought he was funny.

      My mom somehow found the sheet music for it and had a children's choir lead our processional in to it. She had always loved the movie version! I have no idea the extent she went to to get it...and to finagle a childrens choir! That was twenty-five years ago...she has been gone for five.
