I spent 13 months travelling in my 2 wheel mercedes sprinter campervan through South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique
Amazing guys there are no words! Iam an Aussie and have been watching you guys probably from when you were in Turkey. An absolute inspiration! Life is full of changes and you guys are bloody great !
🎉Wow 🎉 You'll have had a lot of stories to tell to your grandchildren when the time comes. Another adventurous episode. I also grimaced my face when you crossed the croc creeks "two times" fingers crossed. It's an Africa we most of the average world citizens might have never dreamed of... Good luck ❤
Awesome video as always Chris and Marianne. This has been an incredible experience lots of amazing wildlife and incredible views and some incredibly friendly people. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s journey around the world.
Guys there is so much to see in Southern Africa. So many beautiful mountains and wildlife parks. The bush you saw with the flowers was a Bougainville. I'm loving your trip. Cultural dancing was awesome.
Honestly, I held my breath and almost closed my eyes as you crossed that second stretch of water!! Well done - at least we know you did get home safely! 🚌🚌🚌
Love your videos. So nice to see such positive people…. Love your attitude and positivity!!! Enjoy the trip !!! Once you have lived under African skies you will never want to leave !
Hi, I discovered your channel quite late in your journey. I am a South African and enjoyed your Durban video. It was great to see my country through your eyes. Now I make a note in my diary not to miss a new video. I'll be with you until the end. Stay save and be blessed.
@@tessb3039 also on ships we had a so called “donkey boiler” to supply steam for driving the main diesel engine auxiliary pumps. This was a long time ago, today the modern ships have smaller auxiliary diesels generating electricity to drive all the auxiliaries elec motors.
Swaziland is an incredible little kingdom, so glad you enjoyed it. Depending on the border post you go through, you could go through my beautiful hometown of Nelspruit. Either way you'll be in the Mpumalanga province. I've been in Cape Town for three years now, which has been a disappointment, I'm not sure I'll get used to being away from the bush and the true essence of South Africa. You are going into the most amazing part, I hope you have a fantastic week. Drive safely!!
@@africaneagle7397 The Western Cape has been the worst province I've lived in. The Animal cruelty is on steroids here 😢 The people are rude and unhelpful 😢 It's definitely not what it's made out to be, that's for sure! If my daughter and grandson didn't need me to help, I would have gone back to Mpumalanga long ago!
I have lived here all my life and still appreciate our African sunsets. Thank you for the videos. I can't wait for a Sunday to watch. Safe travels in our beautiful country.
Seeing those traditional drums, at our school we didn’t have a bell, just an African beating hell out his drum, used to get through the skins pretty quickly. So it was drum for wake up , meals and class changes, end of lunch breaks etc, this was Mbeya in Tanganyika about 70 years ago, memories!!!!!
Swaziland / Eswatini is beautiful. It was known as Swaziland when i backpacked through it in 2001! Still have the little table with the tri legs that i brought from a market stall on the side of the road along with a woven basket and some stone carved head busts. Managed to pack them all into my backpack for the flight home 😂. People often forget that Africa can get cold especially when you are at altitude. I’m hoping your next big adventure after you have been back to the UK is to buy a 4x4 and explore Africa further.
Thank you for taking us with you on your travels. Stunning scenery and the wild animals, is something, most of us won't ever see in person, in our lifetime!! We've followed you for a few months now. Can I ask, does Chris not drive at all? Mary Ann you do brilliant driving and you never seem to let anything get to you mentally, when driving through some difficult roads!! Have a great week guys.. 😊🥰🌞
Wonderful video thanks for sharing. I have been lucky to visit Eswatini (Swaziland) 3 times. In 1988 1989 and 2000. I have always been amazed at how beautiful, friendly and very good value for money this small kingdom is. I can't wait to return.
Chris and Mariann - When your morning started with nearly instant sighting of a 5-family group of giraffe, I knew this video was going to be Epic, and it didn't disappoint at all! I was smiling the entire time through those Nature Reserves! From dining with Rhino's and Hippo's, to then Zebras, Thompson's Gazelles? and other antelopes/deer, Egyptian Geese, Wart Hogs, the Buffalo, street cattle-almost R-rated (lol), to then more Swazi wildlife and the natives, corn and other street sellers/peddlers, to that amazing culture and dance show, WOW oh WOW, you two, MOST AMAZING 🤩you both, and the absolute 'Legendary' 🏆 2-wheel drive Trudy, truly are. - (💡I think she deserves a place in the Smithsonian or maybe a local UK museum - 💡hold a raffle when she is retired😉! ) Words and vids just don't even do justice to the scenery, and that sunset with you cuddling/watching it was mesmerizing and oh so magical, such a special moment to treasure. So again, Thank You for sharing with us, all of this 'magic' and wonderous experience.
I think the reason I loved your Turkey stay was that you got to take your time and we were able to see so much of that beautiful country. I have enjoyed the other countries…but that will always be my favorite.
The weekend is always an African Feast. Saturday it's Keno Yves who is currently in Zambia with his Trike, and Sunday it's you guys. I am so envious. This Giraffe family was watching you more than you were watching them. Beware of the Black Mamba.
We thoroughly enjoy your RUclips channel and admire the courageous driver. The India episodes kept us on the edge of our seats!! We hope you are going to the Kruger National Park, there is wildlife in abundance. We visited Swaziland in 2019 on a well-known Motorbike Rally and what a great place. We hope you enjoy the rest of your Africa adventures. Love from Cape Town.😊
If you see another crocodile dip down and you're near the bank, you need to get moving (forget dignity; run). They move incredibly quickly (as in it takes _seconds_ to reach you) - and that's on land, too. You'll encounter a lot of these fords and low level bridges in parks. They're fine. Just don't try crossing if the water is starting to flood.
I've had experience with Nyala and the dominant male is sometimes friendly. The rest are challengers so are nervous of the dominant male rather than human presence.
I saw a funny meme with a sign that said "Be careful when walking under large trees for falling prey as this is where leopards store their kills." and underneath that it said " You may have wanted to start with ' BEWARE OF LEOPARDS"
Hi, in the clip at the waterhole where you filmed the hippo's and rhino's, you can see a crock swimming, good luck guys, and safe travels. Regards Renier
The "geese" by the croc pool are called Egyptian Geese, which weirdly enough are actually ducks and not geese at all! Yikes, driving across those rivers had my holding my breath! Marianne is an incredibly brave driver. Not only with the rivers but also driving through the super busy city areas like when you were in Mozambique.
Chris and Maryanne walking down a remote path as the beautiful sunset in the background. Chris: "hopefully there are no predators who snuck in". Oh, goodness....I lost it 😅❤
I can't wait for Sundays to follow you on your adventures. I'm originally from Zim and we had a water heating system like the hot water heating system at your last camp. We called it a Matabele boiler. In South Africa, they call it a Donkey boiler
This was great...as to the guy on a bike...I've seen a ranger on a bike at Kruger...and there are definitely predators there.😅 Africa speaks to your soul
When you said, Chris - "I hope we can find our way back"; and Marianne said - "I can get lost in a carpark" - as a walker in sometimes difficult to navigate in terrain - I am super surprised when walkers don't use a simple handheld GPS. Just setting 'Home' as the vehicle or campsite - you can then easily either follow the 'breadcrumb' track back - or, navigate back through a different route - exactly to the starting point.
What a stark contrast between India, teeming with humanity, and Southern Africa, with it's vast, wild spaces. Great driving and filming. Maybe, one of these days, you'll come back equipped with a 4x4.
You guys have great attitudes of gratitude! Love your vids. From South Africa and maybe one day will be blessed to travel to beautiful Swaziland. Safe travels.

That shot of the five Griraffes is the best of your trip. Well done !
The giraffes were as curious about you as you were them. They seemed to be thinking, "Aren't we lucky to have spotted two Brits on our forage today?"

That red bush was bougainvillea.
Yes, and they need a lot of sunlight
Keep they tyre pressure super low off road guys. Will give you a much smoother ride and help if you start to get stuck.
You both were very brave to walk by that river‼️And then you even had to drive through the river‼️‼️👍
Love your videos. So nice to see such positive people…. Love your attitude and positivity!!! Enjoy the trip !!! Once you have lived under African skies you will never want to leave !

The fire and drum water heater is called a donkey 😂
Most people don't know this. My dad built one a few months ago on their smallholding due to loadshedding.
Ahh the memories of getting up too early to fire up the donkey, and then have some roosterbrood and condensed milk coffee before the sun rises.
@@tessb3039 also on ships we had a so called “donkey boiler” to supply steam for driving the main diesel engine auxiliary pumps. This was a long time ago, today the modern ships have smaller auxiliary diesels generating electricity to drive all the auxiliaries elec motors.
Truly Afrikaans!
That's called a donkey had it on the farm in Limpopo
WOW-just driving down the road and seeing 5 giraffes just roaming free‼️
Great traveling with you. I can not wait for next week to see your excitement about our Kruger National Park.
My dad helped set up the fantastic Malolotja Game park in the highveld. Make sure you go there guys. i can hardly watch this. It makes my heart ache.
