Good people find good people. So happy to see you find good mechanics along the way. Trudy deserves the best. And that Malaysia edition sticker is the bestest! Seriously, the way you travel is the way we love to travel. Meeting locals, truly getting into the local life.
Awwh thank you - this is probably why we found each other and are best friends LOL 😉😂💜 We can't wait for you to see the sticker when we all get together again and I am trying to persuade Natasha and Peter to come to the UK for the Charity Welcome home party - so big meet up !! Big love and hugs M xx
I live in southern malaysia where it is very hot but I’ve been to cameroon highland for 9 times already. It’s just different than the rest of malaysia. It’s like taking a cheap overseas vacation
Marianne you are right they are Angel Trumpet. Also when ingested it attacks the nervous system. Beautiful but dangerous. Keep on Truckin' you two, enjoying every moment.
when you attach with something, its always hard to leave it... felt like something was left behind... maybe one day you get a long holiday, come visit malaysia again... we will always welcome you here! just think of it as your own home... always stay safe guys!
Hey there Marianne and Chris, I love how you are showing to the rest of the world how Malaysia looks like. Truth be told, as a local, I too have yet to find some of the gems that you had found. I hope you enjoyed your adventures here in Malaysia. Marianne had nerves of steel driving Trudy into the Sungai Palas BOH Tea Plantation!
For me it was great to see the Cameron Highlands again but I barely recognised it. I visited there way back, firstly in 1986 and again in 1989. Back then there were only shanty towns, but it was so enjoyable with hawker stalls and very few tourists. And as you discovered, the cool climate is a welcome relief from the sweltering heat of the lowlands. To be honest, now it looks spoiled by development and tourism but this is the way of the world. Glad I visited when I had the opportunity.
Rekindled lovely memories of a trip to CH back in 1964. Dad was based in Singapore and he took the family there in his Humber Hawk. Thanks for the trip!!
What amazing view from the rooftop bar 👌Shame the rain had to spoil it ☔️ Yay Trudy dry on the inside 👏👏 Taking the old road was def the better idea so much more to see 🤩 It’s no wonder the Cameron Highlands are so busy with people escaping the heat 🥵 As always the food looked so tasty 😋 Tea plantations always seem to be the most beautiful places , the ones we visited in Sri Lanka were exactly the same ! Malaysia is a place that while watching I have a constant smile 😊 🫶
It looked stunning in the mountains surrounded by the tea plantations 👍 A Tea Tour sounds like a good idea to me 🤔😉 Thank you both for the lovely video 😊
Watching your videos while in Malaysia makes me feel very fortunate to be a Malaysian living in Malaysia...tq. Btw my daughter is now studying in London and she loves UK and she has traveled to 8 European countries within the span of 18 months. According to her, salary for part timer is good and traveling cost is affordable.
Always enjoy watching your videos and adventures here every Sunday in the USA. Curious why Marianne is the only one to drive. She does a great job. She navigates some of the most narrow areas. Much respect!❤❤
Yeah she is really good behind the wheel! 👍 I cannot forget driving down to Bath and a couple other english countryside last year, where the roads were really really narrow! Once I even had to stop then reverse my car for more than 30 metres to a spot with a bit of grassed shoulder on one side, to allow the other car coming from the opposite direction to pass 😳
Thanks Deb - yep Chris does the navigating, filming and editing (also the TREAD business stuff too) I love driving so it works for us - but Chris can and has driven if it is a long driving shift 😉🙌💃
This content is so breathtaking and beautiful full of wholesomeness i really enjoy watching this series i hope you’re having a great time in Malaysia ❤
Hello from London UK, I found your channel a few months ago and I'm catching up watching from the start, stay safe, looking forward to more beautiful views and videos
Malaysia really does such an amazing place. I would love to visit. This video was - as all your videos are - just brill to watch, informative and very heart warming. You guys rock.
Loving the Malaysia videos. Reminds me of my time working in Singapore and KL. The food is amazing, Laksa, chicken rice, rendang and fish head curry. I am drooling thinking about it. I used to drink Liptons tea with two bags until I discovered BOH tea, it's good.
There is another old tea plantation in CH. The Bharat Tea Plantation. It is easier to reach as the Tea house look out point is just next to the main road on Tanah Rata - Brinchang Road.
Tread the Globe and Sunday morning brunch - perfect combination! Well done Marianne for driving that Road up to the tea plantation without a blink of nerves - impressive! Love the shot of Trudy gazing over the rows of tea! Keep safe and keep trucking guys! 🚌
My family and I have been to the same spot, BOH tea plantation and the eatery area too. Nearby you can see the ancient machines that they used to process the tea leaves. Last time went there was like 6-7 years ago. Nice cool climate.
@@Ruriko.Y Yes the tea factory but they don’t process the tea there anymore because the machinery on display were machines that they used many decades ago. I am sure nowadays they are using more sophisticated machinery located somewhere.
Saw your email the other day... Then just watched this vlog, sad to see Peter your friend who has passed away but great memories to have for you both... As has been said many life is for living
It's very brave and at the same time insane to travel around the world in a 19 years old van. Wondering what's the mileage on the van at the beginning of the journey? Stay safe and happy journey.
if you like the highlands, maybe you can retire in Kundasang, Sabah. It'll be much cheaper, but it's a small town, so it might not have everything you want/need. but the views of Mt. Kinabalu are stunning and the climate is perfect.
36:32 Well done Marianne you got the cream tea done the best way! Especially as the cream tea origin is from Tavistock Abbey in .... DEVON!!! Btw loving seeing the Cameron Highlands again. Used to go there in the early 1970s.... it was very cool, quiet and peaceful back then.
Awesome video as always Chris and Marianne. Malaysia has some of the most spectacular views and some delicious food I really wish RUclips had it where you can smell it. 😂 Also looks like y'all really enjoyed a tast of home the tea ☕ and scones looks really delicious.
Both of you seem to be such a lovely couple and having such a wonderful time in Malaysia and it just makes me so happy just watching this video...please do continue to explore Malaysia and you should be able to see different stuffs all over Malaysia... :)
I much prefer the mountainous scenery to the big cities. The tea plantations looked so lush and fresh. How amazing to find a cream tea, even if it didn't have clotted cream. Nom, nom.
Ahhh clotted cream with a bowl of strawberries and cups of tea in a slightly chilly afternoon, seated at a round wooden table set in the large yard of a randomly found cafe and bar as I was driving through the english countryside just last year... Lovely memories 🥰💖
When the cream is thick it goes on first but if it’s thin it goes onto the jam. That’s the official explanation from Devon and Cornwall. Thanks for sharing all that; it was great for those of us who cant go.❤️🌸🦋

HI guys ... at 20.25, those "little things" call ikan bilis are actually fried anchovies. And yes, you can drive up to the BOH Tea cafe and view deck instead of walking up. Been there many years ago!
KL / Malaysia feeling like home and being your Happy place about sums it up for me also. Most Big Citys around the world people cannot wait to get away from them. Not KL.
Hi Guys, were they gum trees at the tea farm? Also when you were in the car park there was a purple flower on a bush. When we where kids I used to call it a spider tree as the flowers look like they have spiders legs growing out of the middle. Have fun , looks nice.
22:06 - Nasi Lemak Padan ( Rice mix with coconut milk and cooked with pandan leaves, either traditionally way or steamed. It produces a fragrant smell on the rice. Some times, it also can make the rice green in color or just white as usual with nice smell of Pandan. I’m from Somerset (although I claim Devon) I guess regarding the Strawberries you were talking about the Cheddar area? Anyway, been in Malaysia for the best part of 15 years and I am in awe of your driving a van around these parts. It even drove me mad in the UK with all the height and width restrictions. Especially at Park and Rides to the extent we ended up with my wife in a car following the van.

I missed driving to Cameron Highlands. We went there late last year during the start of rainy season and driven uphill using the same route as yours late evening. Kind of surreal I think since it was getting dark and mist started to form as if we were going to another dimension especially at the newly constructed long bridge. Seems like you went there during weekdays so there are not much traffic congestion. If you went during local holiday season or even weekends it will be a nightmare with the heavy traffic.
