For me it was great to see the Cameron Highlands again but I barely recognised it. I visited there way back, firstly in 1986 and again in 1989. Back then there were only shanty towns, but it was so enjoyable with hawker stalls and very few tourists. And as you discovered, the cool climate is a welcome relief from the sweltering heat of the lowlands. To be honest, now it looks spoiled by development and tourism but this is the way of the world. Glad I visited when I had the opportunity.

Pandan leaves are also used in the preparation process of other foods and drink to take smell, color or taste )

correction. a sambal tumis for nasi lemak should be balanced between spicy and sweet and a little sour. it can't be just spicy. so adding strawberries would serve the sweet & sour factor.

I’m from Somerset (although I claim Devon) I guess regarding the Strawberries you were talking about the Cheddar area? Anyway, been in Malaysia for the best part of 15 years and I am in awe of your driving a van around these parts. It even drove me mad in the UK with all the height and width restrictions. Especially at Park and Rides to the extent we ended up with my wife in a car following the van.

I think in Guyana some people call those flowers the bells of death. You boil it and drink and it makes one a bit tipsy.

    Hello Ambassadors
The BOH tea plantation was the most noticeable view in this video. That breakfast looked delicious folks.

Wish u guys hav stayed at cameron highland resorts. A bit on the pricer side but it’s worth it.
For a more rustic and unspoiled highland experience, u can also consider Fraser’s Hill. This you need to plan ur accom and travel route (there are two roads, but one is very narrow and has timing schedule up and down the road, the other is some times subjected to potential landslides). But if u enjoy nature and hiking, Fraser’s Hill is the place for you. Fun Fact: Jim Thompson of the Thai Silk business got lost there and never been found

I missed driving to Cameron Highlands. We went there late last year during the start of rainy season and driven uphill using the same route as yours late evening. Kind of surreal I think since it was getting dark and mist started to form as if we were going to another dimension especially at the newly constructed long bridge. Seems like you went there during weekdays so there are not much traffic congestion. If you went during local holiday season or even weekends it will be a nightmare with the heavy traffic.
