I have just received this Casio, this same black version. I ordered it from Ebay around 10 days ago, and...I just love it! Yes, the second hand does hit the markers, which is very important to me. Highly recommended.
This was my watch in high school. After wearing it a couple years, I fell down the watch rabbit hole. But, I will always acknowledge that this watch is all I ever really needed.
Bought this watch as a field watch some years ago because it was cheap. The battery was easy to change and because the plastic strap split after years of use I bought some metal adaptors and fitted a 22mm Nato strap. This watch now has a special place in my collection.
That’s a beautiful watch! I bought it for my mom (she chose it) because she wanted something she could see without reading glasses, this one was perfect for her. She picked up the one with the white face.
You make the best reviews Tomas. Amazing point about plastic/acrylic. Anti-reflective coating isn't necessary either... you can see right through it, it always looks sharp. The other thing is that sapphire, even with AR coating (unless it's like Omega who have endless layers of coating), it looks kind of blue in lots of angles. Acrylic on the other hand has a sort of warm to it, if it's a domed crystal like on a vintage watch (regardless of price) then it will be its own little sun when you leave it on the windowsill. It's industrial design from a different time and it's beautiful. 👍 Also, you can always buff out scratches with polywatch or just some non-gel toothpaste!
On the acrylic material versus other materials. Acrylic has the best light transmission capability of any material. This is why it is used in large public aquarium in thinkness of 300 mm without issues. Minneral materials would have serious tinting.
@@TomasWatchReviews Typical not. Standard glass is less expensive and higher scratch resistance. Acrylic is better in impact resistanc and color, typical less important for house windows. Acrylic is used on sll submerged systems due to impact and color quality. And easy to machine in any shape.
I have 14 g shocks including two mudmasters and a rangeman. Guess which watch is actually my favorite in size and legibility? You guessed it, this very watch you reviewed. Wearing it as we speak.
bought this watch with the white dial and steel bracelet after weighing Tomas' opinions heavily into my decision. Bought 2 watches on his god tier list and he's 2 for 2 now. He gushes about them in his videos and since the Casio's are so unassuming it's almost impossible to figure out why until I saw the watches in person. Something about these Casios are just so perfect.
One of my favorites, very comfortable on wrist! Glad you described the fantastic clarity of acrylic crystal and how mineral, and especially sapphire, are very reflective and kind of silvery. That's why I wish value brands like Pagani Design would put a quality multi-layer anti-reflective coating under their sapphire crystals and charge for it. I'm sure most people would be willing to pay for that feature. If Addiesdive can do it at reasonable cost, it can't be that much more. However, some people do not like the blue tint that some anti-reflective coatings reflect in certain lights which is understandable as well.
From my experience that blue AR does not really remove reflections, it only makes them blue :D Tried showing that two videos ago (Pagani D. vs Addiesdive).
@@TomasWatchReviews I watched your comparison and can see the difference - same amount of reflection, but just blue, like you said! After reading some watch forums, it appears that the only way to eliminate most of the reflection is to coat both the underside and outside of the crystal, but that means the outside coating will probably scratch off in places over time with use. Some people are also saying the a double-domed crystal with anti-reflective coating shows less of that blue or purplish tint.
double-domed goes on Addiesdive/Steeldive Seiko Tuna homages with the same blue AR. Even worse, because you see that blue haze from almost any angle with that dome. For some reason less haze on the Addiesdive then Steeldive, but I am not sure.
Thanks for your review, this is the first review I have seen on your channel, good job. I just wanted to get a good Casio analogue watch for a good price and got this. It is a nice change from my G-Shock Rangeman 9400-1, quite a lot smaller and very light and comfortable. It looks like there is quite a fan base for this Casio MRW-200H, after wearing it, I can see why that is!
I have this watch and love it. If they would just make it a little larger like the same size case as the duro (and the duro strap too) it would be PERFECT.
@@LosmiPZS I have the Duro, that's why I made that comparison. The duro is SOLID, so solid that it's excessively heavey. I love it and will keep it. I just think they could improve on the MRW. If they made those changes, it would be the only watch I'd ever own.
First review of this watch which is honest about the lume, which is not good. Other than that - fantastic watch, and I've noticed as well that the contrast of the dial face is so great that it's easy to read even in very dim light.
I've owned this watch for several years, and over the years I've used a few replacements, but I recently switched back to it but over time the bezel got stuck and the strap suddenly cracked. I recently replaced the strap and re-lubricated the bezel with Krytox 205g0, works like a charm.
A real beater watch..better than any expensive delicate watches..this watch is becoming very popular..simplicity..durability..reliable..low cost.looks very decent..very worth a price.
I own this one. Surprisingly, this beater watch is quite likeable, seen used by Hollywood actors (Angelina Jolie, Sam Rockwell, Ed Helms, and even Henry "Arthur Fonzie" Winkler on his fishing trip!). The only thing I don't like are its relatively thin (too thin) size and the seemingly fragile strap.
I have one of those with a blue dial and baton hour markers... which is quite rare after being discontinued from what I've heard. It was my first beater watch that I ever bought and was on my wrist at work for a few years until my collection expanded.
I got too late to notice this watch and didnt get to order the black one since its out of stock.. but luckily i found the black and red straps.. i dont know if its gonna look good but i really wated this watch so im happily waiting... 😅
I just got one of these... I kinda love it! Yeah it's listed as 43mm or so, but it wears small. Very comfortable watch and... for $20 hard to beat. I also love the Casio AE-1200 (Casio Royale) but it is digital... for an inexpensive analog dial, this is pretty good! Thanks for the video.
It's strange, the day/date wheel on my watch is entirely the same... seam between them is almost impossible to see, and the color is matched. Ahh well, imagine a $20 watch having some variation... 😏 I do see the color mismatch between the bezel paint and numbers on the dial though, the bezel numbers are yellowed.
Also, I've seen other reviews of this watch where the seconds hand does not hit the markers. Again, it's just down to what day your watch was made I think.
Tomas bro your Lithuanian🇱🇹 English accent is so cute & beautiful. I love your detailed reviews. Can u please make a comparison video between casio F91W vs casio MRW 200h please mate. Love from India 😃
Optically I have no idea why but it seems plastic breaks the light in a different way compared to mineral and safire glass. My boxed plastic lens Swatches are clear and crisp looking from most angles. One plastic Q&Q with a single domed lens is clear as well as distorts giving the dial a nice pleasant appearance. Another Q&Q with a flat plastic lens does reflect more like mineral/safire glass for some reason. But I have noticed similar things as you have it seems. Best regards.
Thank you for this good-hearted vid master! Sometimes less is more! *P.S. For a moment imagine this case made in fiber carbon and with a a-r saphire cristal ! Saludos!
I prefer plastic. It is so light. Would not feels as nice if it was metal. I use this bezel every day timing my drone battery chargings. Acrylic crystal is amazing, very good clarity and can be polished out. Lume sucks, yes...
No low battery warning and I have been caught out by it at a crime scene examination......not good! The similar solar one has a battery indicator which is probably not requireed!
Meh. Overpriced, overhyped, toy quality Sub homage. If you want a good Sub homage just buy Addiesdive, Steeldive, San Martin or something from that range that at least has proper materials like sapphire and ceramic and proper good lume..
I own three Casio watches and really like them. But this watch is looking cheap like a childrens watch. The acrylic glas is a no go. And I doubt the durability of the strap.

Great legibility, durability, 24 hr markers, day/date, low cost but great looks! It’s a winner!
Use this for work when I'm on site. I love its rugged simplicity and wouldn't use anything else.
Can't be beaten. It's a 'fully' functional divers watch for next to nothing. Absolutely brilliant. Casio are a fantastic brand
I have both MRW200H for my stepdaughter and MRW210H (Big Case) for myself. And now the hell-a-lot more expensive Luminox is out of my wishlist.
This is better made and more reliable than the luminox.
Good point on the acrylic crystal. There are even some expensive luxury watches that come with acrylic crystals because some people like them better
