  • Clear coating headlights with spray max 2k, installing door cards, replacing brakes, refinishing and restoring trim... We do it all in this episode. Oh yeah, we installed Nomad Sahara wheels and Kenda Klever A/T tires which transformed the look of the 'ol 2003 Discovery.

    Nice build , I happen to be doing the exact same resto mod , planning for a luxury discovery build, as opposed to the normal 4x4 overland builds everyone does. Truck looks great keep it up the two tone is really classic.

      Thanks! I'm glad you appreciate the luxury Discovery build direction, a lot of people dont love it but I think ill win some over with the classic two-tone look. Best of luck with your resto-mod project as well-it's always great to see unique takes in the midst of the more common overland builds. Feel free to share your progress with me on IG, and happy building!

    Just picked up my first disco, 03, with plenty of work to do. Your build is looking great! Following to see how it goes. Might have to come park mine in your driveway once you're finished haha.

    I have a metallic gold D2, thinking the limestone roof will look good. There was a 70’s Series 3 Bahama Yellow which looked great with a limestone roof, nice to see yours as a two tone

    I love your car, can you tell me more about the wheels ? Size and what about the adaptor that you used to fix the wheels? Where I can buy? Thanks !

    Excellent!! I have been looking forward to pt 2 😂 Discoveries are something to get excited about in my opinion! I like your attention to detail fixing the black parts, getting the headlights clear etc - all worthwhile to build towards that rich look you are heading for. Wheels and tyres are awesome! Keen to see what you are doing with the interior, headliner in place etc Got me inspired to work a bit more on my Discovery in the Spring Keep going Thanks for the share

      It is a great journey rescuing these cars and keeping them on the road. I find very rewarding. This particular model was a real sweet spot for Discoveries so having one in great condition is well worth it. I have always wondered what a white roof or two tone scheme would look like on this car, now I know! Ace!!@@GoodPeopleMotors

    Very cool! I've been eyeing Nomad wheels for my Discovery. What sizes did you go with for the wheel and for the tire? Can you tell me more about the adapter? Is this required for Discos? or was it for your preferred offset/spacing?

    • @GoodPeopleMotors
      @GoodPeopleMotors  2 месяца назад +1

      @@RajJesudason-e7d i went with 17” 5x130 +50et thus the adapters as nomad doesn’t offer a 5x120 in 17”. You could go with 18” 5x120 and they’ll bolt right up but that wasn’t enough tire for me.
      In summary 17” 5x130 +50 offset with 265/70/17 tires. Then 30mm adapters to make them fit is my setup

    hmmm not a fan of wheel spacers as a rule, hopefully it will work out for you in the long run. I like the wheels. lifting rovers is a science. You may need double cardan shaft on the rear as I did on my 94 range rover classic. good luck in your endeavors.

  • @jackn4853
    @jackn4853 10 месяцев назад +1

    Please use axle stands, do not depend on the jack supporting the car whilst you have your head in the wheel well. The yellowed headlight plastic covers can be polished with fine abrasive and they will come back clear.

    Great info in this video. I am working with my mechanic to restore a 2000 Discovery 2. I really like the look of the paint job. Is there a particular clear coat for that shine?

    • @GoodPeopleMotors
      @GoodPeopleMotors  10 месяцев назад

      Appriciate it! Love to see people bring these back to life. I'm not sure what clear coat was used here I'll have to ask my paint guy, however, this is before a cut and buff, its 2x smoother and way more shiney now.

    Saw what happened to your nanocom. Hopefully that wasnt too discouraging. Been down that road of swapping from parts car. It can be a real test of patience and sanity but obviously your doing an amazing job and the results speak for themselves. Excelent content....keep it coming 👍

      Would have but the difference in white from the wheels to the cream roof would have drove me crazy and I’d have to repaint them. Didn’t wanna do that to brand new wheels and didn’t want to go whiter on the roof.
