Thanks a lot for this video. I had this doubt last year and I did half a day of search on the internet to understand its meaning. Your video explains everything very well. I have just one thought to add. 1. Kama is Krishna himself - Bhagavad Gita 7.11 : "dharma avirudho bhooteshu Kamosmi Kurunandana" Anger comes from Kama - Gita 2.62 : "kamat krodho bhijayate" . So, anger is Krishna as well. One who can control the flow of kama and krodha becomes happy - Gita 5.23 :sayuktah sa sukhi naraha" .. So the salutations go to Krishna himself. So this year, I skipped the Kamo Karsheet mantra and just chanted more Gayathri, because in Gita. 10.35 Krishna says - "Gayathri chandasam aham"
I really appreciate your clarity in understanding a very important mantra pertaining to rituals done by men .Generally most of the people utter this mantra mechanically without understanding the meaning.Infact this should be chanted everyday at the end of the day or at the time pradakshina namaskara.
Fantastic explanation bya young person like you is a real symptom of prospwerity in the dharma for bharathwasis. Great narration. Wish you all the best of things in life in bringingsuch narrations in through sanskrit. Dr K L Sundarkrishnaa
Thankyou very much for the nice and simple explanation of the Mantra. How kind our rishis of yore had been. They have charted out a simple, unique and assured means of liberation process for human community especially- brahmins who are right in the front line for evolution. But sadly very few value and respect the work and findings of our dedicated and committed Rishis. After viewing this video let all in brahmin community perform this practice more sincerely, with devotion for their own self evolution Rishibyo Namaha, Gurubhyo Namaha
Ram Ram. Excellent Bhagini! For a long time I wished that someone should explain this so nicely. महान्तः धन्यवादाः। भवत्याः व्याख्यानं अत्युत्तमम्। मुदितोहम्।
This is what we expect. One should understand and recite the mantras to reap the worth of it. You are clear and convincing. Let the hidden values of our Upanishads and Vedas be brought to commom man through people like you . KUDOS to your noble job. Best wishes and blesings . Ram Ram.
Excellent explanation Appropriately explained.. From the mantra, it could be seen that both Kama is for Desire and Manyu is for Anger Desire and Anger are inter- related.. If Desire is not fulfilled at the point of time, anger arises So the anger subsides many times through inter personal relationships.. Desire in general remains until it is fulfilled. We are praying to God Directly or indirectly Desire should not be there.as well as anger... This mantra definitely gives maximum peace of mind if not always at least when we recites Your view and explanation is wonderful and for all listeners at the appropriate time..❤❤❤
🙏🏽 Jai Sanatana !!! So much wisdom, no wonder they say that the Vedas are infinite. Thank you so much for unpacking this timeless knowledge for the masses. Hari 🕉 Tatsat
Such a lucid explanation, Shuba! I had always wanted to know the true meaning of this mantra! You've conveyed it perfectly. In a subtle manner, you are teaching Sanskrit Grammar too
🙏🙏 Excellent, lucid explanation of the mantra which we chant daily. From now onwards the chanting will be more meaningful & effective for me. Thank you very much. 🙏🙏
Very, very, very enlightening, we need more women who are sattvic in nature to explain these subtle meanings of the vedas and upanishads. Thank you, my little sister, for such a wonderful lesson jgd the yogi Raj
Namaskaram. Very lucid and good explanation. If seen in Mahanarayana upanishad, this comes before Viraja homam . Virajahomam is purifying one self . The Jiva from ones Vasanas ( likes and dislikes) and there by underplaying Individuality. Virakti is Vairagya. One of the needs is to free from guilt of the past, and this is a method to free oneself from it Rajesh
I also felt that as humans we do feel guilty for the times we've lost our temper and had materialistic desires and this hinders our spiritual progress. You have taught me to let it go as ' I am not the doer' and to concentrate on Aatma Gyanam. Thank you so much❤
Excellent. Very clear voice very clearly narrated. We have been doing Kamokarshit japam without knowing the meaning. I accidentally saw this from Tattva. I'll follow regularly. Thanks a lot to Tattva and the child who narrated beautifully.
Very nicely explained. Also in Gita Krishna has said - kaamosmi bharatarshabha, I am Desire that is unopposed to dharma. This mantra helps one understand the psychology of mind, nature of desire , how desire when unfulfilled leads to anger , also how sattvic desires bring one closer to Self, Tattvam.
I appreciate that your enthusiasm in explaining mantras to benefit the listeners excels your dedication and total involvement. SUPERB 🎉🎉May God bless you.Good Luck !!
Thank you for the detailed explanation. My dad had taught me this mantra and told it is good for detachment. He did not give full explanation and i was looking for it. Thank you for the details.
Excellent explanation, Ma'am. Brings about more awareness at vrutti level and if the japa is done with this understanding, we become better in thought word and deed. Namo nama:
Though I knew the meaning of the mantra, I couldn’t make out the nuances. Thank you. I was under the impression that the Kama and Manyu should be kept under control. As you said Chuttavritti nirodha. Thank you. 🙏😊
Mam thank you for the post. Truly helpful. I have subscribed and ran through some of your earlier posts. Seems interesting will see that too. Hats off to your service. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for the beautiful explanation. This really means that these two mantrAs are really for those who are in a state of yoga always. Even while being in that state, they might have done something out of their own desire and anger, and there by accruing karmA. So, to get rid of these accumulated karmAs, evolved souls, i.e., those that are in a permanent state of yoga, chant these mantrAs. In essence, to a person who is not in yoga because of his identification with his citta vrittis all the time, chanting these mantrAs will be hardly beneficial.
Thanks for the explanation. all these years i was just chanting with out even knowing what it means. Probably the priest who told me to chant also does not know the meaning :-)
I just came back from a group, Avani Avittam. I recited the Kamokarsheen recital but did not know the meaning. You have explained it so well; I am pleased about it. My question is: Is this mantra to be recited each time when we do Sandhya vandanam, or only once a year?
Well explained and nicely related to yoga sutras. Please give a thought in the following lines. Upakarma being the first course of action for BrahmaChari, who is in process of learning Vedic knowledge, who himself identified himself with the Physical Body, has to differentiate between "Stula Sareera, Suksma Sarira and Karana Sarira" , unless he identifies and eliminates Karana Sareera ie Kama, he cant understand "who is he". In reality Kama cannot be eliminated, but it should not be in the direction of objective world. So, its direction should be changed to subjective world. Then Kama becomes ATMA KAMA. Once ATMA KAMA ignited, his DRUSHTI changes from objective world to subjective world. Rest of examples, relation with Nasadeeya Sukta and YOGA Sutras is excellent. Jai JagadGuru.
Thanks for the excellent, enlightening message.. Generally Yajur Vedis do this Japha during Sandhyavandanam.. But this Japa is not prescribed for Rig Vedis in nithyanushtana: Please explain

It's in our sleep and in dream state that we realise that the observer is different from our body as we see ourselves,
