plus now it will be the most boring race track ever. it’s not like they are going to be able to run different lines which is the whole point of a short track. very low amount of passing it my prediction for these two races
It's extremely cheaper. If you're going fast on it and it's not dangerous, it's professional, crack, bumps, surface changes and repaves are part of the skill involved.
Think of it this way... 1 tile sample will always be cheaper than redoing the tile floor of a whole kitchen. So outside of all the other factors, repaving two corners will always be cheaper than repaving an entire racetrack.
I seemed to see Ericsson. Then I checked and it was Ericsson from the former Sauber team. There was also Grosjean in the Indy paddock. If Grosjean can keep his mentality stable, he can get very good results.
The hybrid allows to restart the car but is disabled in the pits ??? what is the point of not allowing a stalled car to restart by itself ? Anti-stall has been in F1 for a long time and we still get unnecessary full course cautions cos someone stalled in a perfectly safe spot. Ridiculous
There's a software error with the restart technology anyway. It failed 6/6 times at Mid-Ohio last weekend and is disabled until the software is figured out. It's a joke.
It's disabled in the pits for safety reasons, because of refuelling. F1 doesn't refuel in the pits. They can easily restart the cars in the pits anyway.
@@amjan as if every racing series that has refueling can't use hybrid in the pits, endurance cars refuel and then pull out of the pit box on electical power alone.
In my mind if you mess up leaving the pits and atall the car you deserve a penalty In the form of wasted time to re fire the car. Where as when you're on course you've already served a penalty for your error and crashing by losing all those spots. Shouldn't need to get a crew out to retire. Makes sense in competition to me
That repave is a joke. The Nascar race was a parade and you can tell Indys race will be the same or maybe worse with cars spinning just from looking outside.
@BillMartin1010...The new hybrid unit must've put the moves on Bill's wife, considering his nonstop gripping about it.... How about the 3 of you sit down and talk it out?
That was not good at all. Race is gonna be so boring both days. And I probably speak for a lot of people with this, but PLEASE bring back superspeedways like Michigan and Miami
Wow. Turns out that adding 110 pounds near the rear axle causes unpredictable oversteer issues. Whooda' thought? The drivers seem to be tip-toeing their way into the turns. I can understand not having enough confidence to go two-wide in the turns.
Wow, turns out every single IndyCar video, from now until the end of time, is going to feature continuous whining by Bill Martin.... Looking forward to it!

It's baseball, Ray... AND it's Indy-car.
Great to see the cars back at Iowa, but was it really THAT much cheaper to only re-pave the corners? Doesn't look super professional

It will fade anyway.

I can't believe it. IndyCar fixed the color bar chart at the bottom of screen showing hybrid status.
Hello i am new to indycar and i was thinking about why the leaderboard shows the speed instead of the lap time :)
The difference in seconds is so minuscule, that speed gives a better difference in terms of gaps
It's an oval track thing.
Ohh ok thank You! I guess i will learn more with the time.
They're essentially the same. To get the speed they divide the length of the track by the lap time
I think speed is seen as more important/relevant on ovals because the cars never slow down like on a circuit
Need to go back to Phx
It's all about the drive off they turn into soon
Good job for Agustín #78.👍👍
Why have they limited the max energy deployment per lap?
The second lane came in really well for the NASCAR races, so there's some hope.
🦆 🔥
I seemed to see Ericsson. Then I checked and it was Ericsson from the former Sauber team. There was also Grosjean in the Indy paddock. If Grosjean can keep his mentality stable, he can get very good results.
Good luck with that, he appears to lack the mental fortitude to break through. I’m happy for him if he can
Go go Canapa!!
Michael on the phone with Brian Deegan giving him his bank routing info.
Question where has Katherine been?
The kitchen
They need to clean the track before the quali and race so the high side isn't awful or alternatively send car around to rubber in that line lol
They plan on having a session for volunteer drivers to rubber in the high line.

Go team Chevy and team Newgarden
Embarassing the half re-pavement. Why not to repave the whole oval????

Another repave that benefits NASCAR but not Indycar...
Who tf would pass on the left in pit lane? Worst commentating take i've heard in a while.
Exactly... Why would you ever pass on the left? What's worse is rhat these are pros!
Except that Dixon said that he thought it was Grosjean that he was behind and was trying to go around him.
