  • In this video we cover how to install Flaresolverr in a Synology NAS.
    ----
    Important Note:
If you see that Flaresolverr shows as disabled, you need to do the following:
    1. Assign it a tag, for example: "flare"
    2. Go to your indexers and add the same tag ("flare") to the indexers that you want to use Flaresolverr.

After installing, I noticed my FlareSolverr in Prowlarr is labeled as "disabled." Interestingly, I observed the same issue in your RUclips video around the 07:05 mark.

Good catch! I will be putting a note in the description as apparently now you need to use tags for Flaresolverr to function with Prowlarr.

I noticed that in the container update notes it says that data may be cleared. Is this what is happening?

@@ezm0n3y yes but if you have mapped the config directory properly, it will remain in your NAS even though the contents of the container are reset.

By dude, this was perfectly explained, thank you. Simple to add into Jackett via the inbuilt settings which in the newer versions explicitly contain the Flaresolverr configuration bits. Thank you, my movies can start downloading again :)

I love this series, are you considering Jellyfin in the future? I was able to get it set up, but cannot for the life of me get the remote access working properly. Thank you for all the content!

Hi! Thanks for your comments. I will add Jellyfin to the queue.

    Hi,
I've been following your guides and they're awesome. I'm having trouble with Flaresolverr however. I get this error when I try to add an indexer.
Unable to connect to indexer, please check your DNS settings and ensure IPv6 is working or disabled. The SSL connection could not be established, see inner exception.
I've added the tag to flaresolverr as well. I'm not too sure how to fix this.
    Thanks!

This is very weird indeed. Sounds like a mix of DNS issues (network) and SSL termination.
In my case, I have disabled IPv6 in my home network and I don't have to deal with this. All connections go out in IPv4. Maybe try that in your router.

Is there anyway to do this on a NAS without docker support like a 218j?

You have linux running under the hood in Synology devices, it is possible. However, you would have to basically SSH into the NAS and figure out how to install docker and manage it in the command line. Also, if those are using ARM devices you will need images for that CPU architecture.

Is there still a chance for invoice ninja ? :)

Hi @MJDigitalAT, I reviewed the application and I honestly see no point in hosting that app yourself when they lock all the features behind a pay wall. In my opinion, it is a waste of resources. I could make a video if there is enough support for it, but it's an application that I would not recommend as it is.

I've got a Synology DS124 with Container Manager and I've followed all the steps here and Flaresolverr just refuses to work.
I've got Jellyseerr installed and running in Container Manager and that works fine. Flaresolverr just hates me :)

Check the note that I put in the description of the video. You might have to use tags for it to work.
