- Counter-Strike is littered with stories of skilled young players who never really got their head right. But occasionally you get one who wins that INNER firefight -- and that’s the story of Astralis’ Magisk.
Presented by CS Money: Your CSGO Skin Expert. Find out more here: www.dexerto.cl...
The now major winning talisman would have been as shocked as the rest of world when Kjaerbye left Astralis for North in one of the most controversial moves in CSGO history, but that opportunity was not wasted by Magisk.

This is an inspiring story, Magisk had a tough road but he got there.
Obviously one of the better signings ever done in CSGO (maybe CS overall) history. So funny how a seemingly unfortunate situation (Kjaerbye going to North) could end up turning the tide completely. Love wathching the guys play.
Man, I hope Astralis wins all Road to Rio matches. I have only recently started to watch professional CS:GO and they are the first team that made me really interested in this game
astralis boring team kekw
Yeah, maybe. But if safe playstyle works, why not use it? My second favorite team is Mousesports, which also uses tactics over individual plays. Or that loss from NaVi when they were up against Syman Gaming? That was textbook Counter-Strike, which I do not consider boring
Utilities Damage
C9 2018 was what made me so interested in these pro games
dont mind people saying astralis is boring, as a swede who (danes and swedes are nemesis) astralis plays beutiful cs.
an sports analogy i like to use is, a goalie doing a massive "TV save" is flashy, but most of the times, if he wasnt screwing up and standing in the wrong place to begin with he wouldnt need to have done an insane save.
And thats how astralis plays CS minimizing stupid mistakes and taking the percentage fights.
Xyp9x : He wasn't good enough for NORTH
I remember asking them at the time "why not Konfig?" Thinking he was the pinnacle of CS, but I guess I was way wrong
Konfig got too cocky at one point. He thought he was the best and would destroy anyone. Being confident is good and all but respect is always top priority. Stewie maybe cocky and all but he respects other players. After konfig got destroyed by kennys he went on a downward spiral
@@matevo7745 Stewie ain't cocky. He knows he isn't the best player in the server, but knows he's the one willing to take risks in order to let the team succeed. Konfig definitely is your standard "cocky" player who is skilled, but never put aside his ego which is why we never saw Dignitas have similar success to Astralis pre-Magisk despite having a really talented line up.
iirc it's because konfig would have clashed with dupreeh's entry role
Magisk is a god tho. He has crazy aim, spray, game awareness and he is also a selfless player. You will rarely see Magisk lose a 1v1 battle even if is disadvantaged.
Man they obviously gonna pick k0nfig when the time kjaerbye got into north. But the thing is k0nfig is an entry fragger and dupreeh figures it out saying it not suitable for them to have another entry fragger on the team.
Magisk is really under appreciated alot, I think hes one of the best cs players with incredible aim and spray control,.his aim is so crisp and fast
the Magisk storyline is one of my favorites, thank you!
13:20, gla1ve also made the top 10 in 2018, he was 8th!!!!
You're right! Well spotted
@@DexertoCSGO well missed!
@@TheAdrpepper lol well missed XD
I was like why did they you miss out glaive 😞 leader always not appreciated..
IMO Magisk needed a team, that had an IGL & coach who knew how to extract his abilities. Also having tier 1 players around him, helped him evolve into a sick entry fragger. It is a professional ORG, and he needed that too.
Best team to ever touch the game.
GOATS
They funniest thing is that he got into astralis pretty randomly :D
best videos on youtube about cs history.
@@Panda-ss3zh can confirm
Edit: lmao they deleted the comment I was referring to.
My "can confirm" comment was towards @AGK saying they copied this video from thescore esports haha
This is the best csgo analysis video I’ve seen on RUclips so far ... great pace!
Kjaerbye going to North is like that drummer who refused to sign up for the beatles.
There's nothing to come to talk about when its Astralis.
They play so well as a team, they trade each other, and just have some chemestry the other teams doenst have.
Full respect from here!
I gør det godt gutter, bliv ved!
He looks better in red and black anyways
How Magisk Went from Denmark's Forgotten B0y to Astralis' Missing Man.
change title :D
Everyone said that he was a mistake for that team, and he has been the best of Astralis for some time. we are MAGISKBOY
12:49 That round was not a mistake, they knew that playing that map against Astralis was a waste of time
I see you in all cs videos lol
Caster sound like Magisk, which leads to be like Magisk casts Magisk.
Its like they're meant for each other... Magisk and astralis
Your videos are really good man . We really appreciate your time and effort you keep in your videos. Loves to see more content from you.
Talks about his awesome spray transfer
Proceeds to show a clip getting 3 kills where he specifically stops shotting between each kill.
And that right after talking about recoil control as they were showing a pistol round.
It isn't a big deal, but it really wouldn't hurt getting someone who understands CS to be present in the editing room.
It's a bit damaging to the narrative when you are talking about one thing, but showing something completely different.
Funny how Magisk rose from shit teams to the best team ever and Kjaerbye fell from the major winning team to a noname roster called North. Fate in all its glory.
Magisk to Astralis is possibly the best roster move ever in CS.
Thanks bro... a good recap story... i enjoyed the video!
I saw so much potential in magisk when he was playing for north. he was the only one who puts so many frags. I was kind of shocked he was kicked. Maybe back then he had this emotional issue. Now he is so calm and collected. His progress is so inspiring. I was happy he won majors and finally show his insane talent.
Everyone was seeing talented young boy in Magisk back then. Except "NORTH" feelsbadman.
just like how the bulls found rodman, astralis found magisk
I personally think that Kjærby leaving Astralis was the worst roster move in CS history (of course he couldn't know it at that point in time)
However, Magisk joining Astralis is probably the best roster move...
At 13:15 they forgot that Gla1ve also was in top 10 in 2018. He ranked 8th.
Astralis is literally a bunch of misfits, who all fit together perfectly
Amazing video
Just looking at these clips makes me miss going to events so fucking much right now
2:32 bruh why did he save wtf
well anyways that was an impossible win
No hope anyway
Saving his dignity
Sanjai Sri, he’s not saving his dignity lol. It’s embarrassing to see him save there
K/D Idk
1:25 does anyone know where we can get that graph of all the players?
yeah @ me too, when someone responds pls.
Lol everybody thinking the same thing. No luck with the 0.25x playback speed tho...

@@Arthorak da real mvp

There is no question that the Magisk move was the best ever roster move.
and, at the same time, Kjaerbye leaving was his worst carreer decision lol
@@wavesz the roles didn't go well with him on Astralis. The team probably wouldn't have found these results if he stayed
@@wavesz There can be many reasons why he left.. Yeah maybe it was bad of him leaving, but the team didnt play well, and he needed a change. I dont like the way he left tho, without telling his teammates. But im really happy as a Astralis fan that we got Magisk, he is so good for us, and fit's the team alot better.
11:00 I would love to see a deeper analytics on how Magisk completed the Astralis team
Thank you Markus "Traitor" Kjaerbye
Amazing video. Good job.
I think Sunny to ENCE is actually the best roster move that has been made in the whole CS:GO history
xDDD, it would be good if aleksib would have stayed tho
@@peppupaa7605 maybe, maybe not
@@baptistewolff- yea, cant know
Lmao
Magisk was the best roster move
After they add Magisk=they create their era with 3 consecutive major wins(0 playoff map lost)
How can u think Sunny move was better?lmao
@@lightningprowess6031 It was a joke...
9:18 Kjiarbye today: What the f*ck did I do?!
yes they lost the group stage in e league major, but cloud 9 was on a hype winning streak on their own turf, they trained the hardest out of all the other teams that year, cloud 9 deserve that win
the portuguese comentary 13:29 OMEGALULLLLL
Wait... He's only 22?!?! Damn. I was convinced he is almost 30
He’s the real missing piece.. poor that north boy..
EVEN GLAVE MADE TOP 10 in that year HELLO !!!!!
whats crazy is North and MSL have released Valde, Magisk and Konfig over the last few years... and they wonder why they are a running CS meme.
Everybody thank Kjaerbye for leaving Astralis and giving us current-day Astralis.
Nice vid dude ! keep it up ;)
Your videos is soo good
To the stars
Fuck man I love how he jumped on device when they win.
Magisk and Dupreeh r the prime players for astralis at this point of time
i know magiskboy from optic gaming that weird white guy who looks totally different from other player picture lol

13:29 i love brazil
So magisks elder brother didnt introduce him to cs?
magisk? more like todd from breaking bad
Magisk is a fucking goat
I really would love to see Astralis vs NAVI for the grand final, but both of them keep choking against lower level teams
Navi just got knocked out of the Rio major so I doubt that's happening.

He was never Denmark’s missing man...he was the best player from that country when he joined astralis. Did you guys watch any of the games prior to this man getting on astralis? He was ripping people new assholes.
Decent video. But there were many points made throughout, that did not match up to what was being shown. Perhaps someone that knows the game well should choose the clips. Thanks.

Spongebob in real life :)
I just hope they don’t jinx the miracle by bringing the two more. And JUGI is an AWPER. Why?
Think they have had enough miracle time. Might be that both the players and the organization might want to be able to stay in the top (perhaps not top 1 but top
1-10) for many many years to come. They are proberly gonna fall off a little when the new players begin, but they proberly be stronger in the long long run
Michaelj Jørgensen yesterday only denied that 😂
