Hi, my newest friend! ;-) First of all, thank you for taking the time to produce videos so rich in details, so well explained and for wanting to share with everyone who wants to learn how to draw, just like one day you also needed to learn. I'm sure that based on your personal learning experiences, you can already identify what our difficulties will be, which is why your videos are so special: because you are generous in sharing the techniques, your materials and everything because you love what you do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I've seen so many videos here about drawings, shadows and paintings, and everything is edited at high speed. Videos with only a small sample solely for the purpose of selling products. I can understand, but I think that the true good professional needs much more than that. So thank you for making a difference for us. With love from Rio de Janeiro.
Thank you,I enjoyed it all very much,it’s a bit too advanced for me as I’ve only been doing it for a few months after years of traditional painting, but still enjoyed every minute.
I have been following you for some time now. I am always blown away by your talent. I love the new format where you list the brushes etc on the left side. Super helpful. Love this challenge. Will be trying it soon.
Hi Haze, I followed your 3 day challenge and all I have to do is say thank you for doing such a great tutorial. I put up a time-lapse video showing my progress following your three videos on my RUclips channel if you want to see. Keep up the good work!
Amazing works. You are truly great art teacher. Thanks for sharing. I do not think I have the talent would be able to reach your level of portrait painting. Enjoyable watching you do painting.
Amazing. I installed your brushes those are very affordable to use. I was just using same few brushes of you all the time. Now i learned there are many ways to use all the brushes. Thank you a lot.
I’m on day three and this will be a long project. I’m not as experienced and made more layers for the eyes and nose and lips. I’m just not confident but feel your technique is outstanding. I’m sure there aren’t ‘rules’ so I’ll keep going. Thank you so much for an awesome tutorial.
@@HazeLong This series showed how well you can organize the material, sequence it, and you presentation was excellent. I look forward to the next series. I just recently found your channel and I need to look over more of your videos to clarify some of the steps. Please keep up the videos
Hello!! Thank you so much for all the videos and tutorials you have made to help us, they're all so far so helpful and i'm so glad i found out about your channel. Also thank you so much for making the brushes free! I'll make sure to support you once I'm able to I really hope you have a great day or night and thank you so much once again for all the free content and tutorials im really grateful, its been so hard to find good tutorials like these!
the skin color techinique was so different and new to me im just used to adding it as the colors themselves and not the layer settings thingy and i assume you made these brushes yourself so since im still just geting used to procreate its all so new and confusing its so pretty at the end tho! hope i get to draw as flawless soon
Excellent tutorial as usual ❤ I have tried several times and I'm still struggling. My two biggest issues are the colours and the detail. Mainly the colours. My hand looks ok, but the face is just terrible. I also seem to over blend. I cant get the hang of the flat smudge so I kept going back to the medium blender but that caused all detail to disappear. I think this may be a little too advanced for me, but I will try again next weekend
portrait is always one of the last things to learn in drawing due to its complexity in textures and light and shadow. Digital platforms definitely allows us to make mistakes and fix it easily. If you are struggling with control then maybe you can try doing pencial sketches on an actual piece of paper. Once you've gotten good at drawing a couple prism and a ball then you should be about to have a good understanding of how much to smudge.
You're honestly soo amazing..my main issue is eyelashes and eyebrows..why when I use my strand brush it looks so pixelated..I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong..Can you maybe explain why yours looks so crisp and mine looks so pixelated and jaggy? THANKS!!
I took out mine when I bought my new iPad. I used to have the paperlike original screen protector. Be careful tho cuz the fake ones are like sandpaper and can wear down your Apple Pencil tip like crazy
I’m still having troubles with getting the right colour saturation, then changing hues to Match, final masking. All of this together is not processing out the accurate colour I desire. I watched this video 5 times, I’m going to again until I understand where I’m going wrong, because I can’t let go of this technique, looks good and easy IF I can figure this out. How I wish you’d be my personal mentor... I would have mastered digital art by now! Do you provide such a service where you teach personally? I’m willing to pay to be mentored by you. It would benefit me a lot and save me from drowning in this scattered knowledge of arts.
Yea I have guided class for these kinda occasions. You can check it out at hazelong.com. This method is more suited for those who can see accurate colors. For some artists, they have better luck started with grayscale first cuz they can see values better than they can see colors.
Hello, I’m really hoping you reply to this. As someone who lives in another country and can’t afford to pay for your brushes, I refuse to download them for free because you don’t earn an income. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to make brushes in procreate 😊
Followed this video for a couple days now and hopefully I don’t know how to feel about it. I feel like I should like it because everyone in the comments does but I just don’t I bought all the brushes and hate them I feel like I waisted my money on brushes I’d never use again The first video was not bad easy to follow steps but by the day 2 video nothing went right personally the tutorial didn’t help me much and I stopped watching it and just did everything else by myself I still here and there watched it just to see if I was missing anything but nothing helped. I’m in college for graphic design and have never used procreate so I choose these videos and I would never recommend them for anyone that has never used the app to draw I have to learn to maneuver the app by myself or with help of helps I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone honestly
Haze Long I think the mistake was mine. I see now that I was supposed to include my question in the order form. I apologize for my mistake. Is there a way to send them separately?

I’m watching this laughing because I’m going to try to do it but it’s not going to look even half as good as this one. Wow!! Really amazing art ❤️
This was the best tutorial I’ve ever watched! I can’t wait to get started on my journey! Thank you:)
I'm just gonna say: WOW
The eyes are amazingly detailed

This is amazing tutorial..thank you. This is what I'm looking for " so rich " . I hope all artists are generous like you.
Excellent tutorial. Very thorough.
I've seen a lot of procreate tutorials and these ones (your tutorials) are by far the most helpful. Thank you so so much!
This is amazing! So helpful and so nice of you to do it for free!

Don’t worry about the layers. You can merge them when ur done. Or duplicate them just in case. Or delete them if it doesn’t work out. 🙃
This is beautiful! Thank youuuu
Thank you for everything! You’re truly one of a kind♥️♥️♥️
amaaaaaaaazing
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Your video helps a lot!! Thanks for sharing this with us!!!Just want to tell you how amazing you are!!! :))))

I really want to know how you blend because I have trouble blending and I don’t know what brush to use for the skin
you can look for the smudge projects(Daenerys) and the smudge tutorial(billie eilish) in my channel.
