    I have a 2007 Z71 (NBS) with FTS 7-9” adjustable suspension lift set at 9” stacked with a 3” body lift sitting on 37’s. Suspension kits get very expensive over 10 inches. I wanted 12 inches of total lift. This was the most affordable way to go for. I love how my truck looks. The body lift was professionally done and all the gaps are covered and the bumpers have been adjusted. It looks like it was built that way from factory. I’ve got a ton of ground clearance and the truck rides great. I have almost 30k miles on the lift and suspension parts. No issues at all so far.

      Would the 7-9" lift handle good going mudding or in the snow? I have a 6 inch RC lift on my 01 tahoe, but I'm wanting to upgrade to a 7-9" lift at some point in the future. And FTS and Bulletproof are the only one's I've found so far that have them listed on their website.

      @mortarmantv 2 года назад +1

      @@reaperbravo1706 I’ve been very happy with mine. I think the additional ground clearance is important when it comes to off-road use. The taller lift will give you more fender space for tire travel which will also be less prone to rubbing. I don’t think more lift will necessarily make it your truck handle better, but it will make it more capable if that makes sense. I know since I graduated from 35’s up to 37’s it’s made a big difference. Best of luck to you.

    I have an old 3rd gen 4runner so non of the cons apply, in fact there's a lot more benefit to a body lift. Like lower center of gravity. Because most of the weight of the vehicle is the frame and drivetrain, you're only lifting a smaller percentage of the truck's total weight. There's also the benefit of greater and articulation and downtravel of the suspesnion, because you are not changing the starting positions of the A arms in an IFS rig. it can flex downward more as well as upwards. anything beyond 3 inches of lift you actually begin to lose downtravel. That's why i'm doing a 2 inch suspension lift with a 1.5" body lift. You gain several inches of travel with the equivalent of almost 4 inches of lift and can fit 35s with limited fenderwell trimming.

  • @BOVAction
    @BOVAction Год назад +2

    You can just buy some fender liners to hide that gap between the body and frame. A body lift is required on the OBS Chevy trucks when doing a Cummins swap in order to account for the extra height so that the hood will clear the motor. When I finally finish lifting my crew cab it will have 9 total inches of lift with the 6 inch suspension and 3 inch body.

    Almost every truck out there can handle a 1.5 body lift. The only issue I've found is some ground straps, that's it. Who cares about the visual items you stated, they're irrelevant. When your fording deep water a body lift makes sense along with a suspension lift.

    Body lifts are hated only by businesses in the off road installs. They don’t make much of a profit on body lifts. If you want to put your vehicle and bank account under the knife go ahead. Thousands to alter a suspension and sometimes ruining a vehicle for its lifetime is absurd

    I’ve got the 4 inch fab tech that is really more like 2 inches paid some one to install it because lack of tools on my 2013 Silverado 1500 with 20x10 and 35 12.50 I did the full NorCal and had slight rub at full turn so I got the 1.25 inch body lift from rough county and put it on by my self it was easy and looks really good (gap and seeing more frame included I like it) now only have slight rub when full turn and hitting bump, I think there is nothing wrong with a small body lift under 2 inch’s it’s a cheap easy way for extra height that looks good and isn’t near as bad as they make it sound in the video

  • @johnrickles3378
    @johnrickles3378 8 месяцев назад +1

    I think just about everything you've said in this video is absolutely incorrect. Vehicles are all built with extra slack in there harnesses period. Been a mechanic for 20 plus years, unlip a few clips and boom you have enough room for probably a 10 inch body lift if you had the adapters to match. Body lifts come with steering adapters. With a body lift you maintain same center of gravity for better stability, with suspension lift you do not. With body lift you get adapters to relocate bumpers so there are zero gaps. You get the factory suspension which the OEM manufacturer spent 1000x amount of money and r and d on to perfect for your specific vehicle. Your exhaust can be lifted to match in about ten minutes for almost no cost. A body lift takes much much less time to put on then a complete suspension lift and is about 1/10th to 1/20th the cost. Think about it. What's easier, removing about 25 bolts and ten clips and redrilling a few holes or remove an entire suspension, replace it with way bigger parts and then align it all yes you'll need an alignment. You will not need one with a body lift. They make gap panels for about any body lift for a very low price. There's really no lose when you compare body and suspension. Body lifts are cheaper all the way around and easier to install period. Suspension lifts can give you much more lift but require way deeper pockets and can actually destroy your vehicles ride and feel, stability. Your choice. I have both on my truck but obviously the body lift is way safer and more OEM, less stress on components and gives you the reliability of the OEM suspension.
