My tomatoes didn’t do well with all the heat we had. Even watering twice a day didn’t help. My pepper endured it and now that it cooled off esp overnight my pepper & eggplant have doubled size and production. The 2nd planting of squash is blooming and starting to produce again. Second Greenhouse will arrive tomorrow and just in time as our overnight temps are getting into low 50s want to get my Dragon fruit pots inside and under thermostat so when it goes below 60 the heat kicks on. Plan to fly a 600w hps on a track above the trellises and then the house plants in the polycarbonate greenhouse. Fighting a mealy bug or Scale bug inside 😮 I’ve used neem soap mix but they keep popping up ? Guess I will have to get a azomax and treat it once & for all. I hate mites & indoor pests. Last year it was mites & aphids in the greenhouse. So I plan to set off two bug bombs b4 moving any thing inside then spray the plants and wipe them down good with azomax n 90% alchol 🤞🙏
I hear ya about all the heat. Last week we had a high of 60 and a low of 40. Now this week we will be close to 90 again! Ughhh. Sounds like you have a bunch of nasty bugs to take care of. I hate having them ruin a years worth of hard work. 😉
I need to trellis my tomatoes this next spring. I kinda liked that. I use more salsa… so I have made LOTS of salsa. The rest of my tomatoes I’m gonna do as sauce. Thanks for sharing. Do y’all have basements up there? We can’t have basements in Mississippi… unless ya have lots of $$ to redu the ground. Too much Yazoo clay in these parts.
We find it easier and more convenient to have the tomatoes on a trellis as well. I just finished up with 12 punts of salsa and another 8 quarts of sauce this weekend. Ith7nk I have about 15 more pounds of tomatoes and then we are done. Yes we have basements up here, that's we're everyone typically stores their harvest! Everywhere around me is super handy so we don't have to worry much about clay! 😄

My tomatoes went bust. So looking to get some from a farmstand
I found some at a local market and they were $17 for a 1/2 bushel.
Busy time on the Farm. Glad to hear you are documenting. I always wish I had wrote more down. Maybe next year🤥
Yeah it really helps. Just need to do more of it! Lol
Looks yummy. Have you ever made green tomato bread? I have a great recipe if you are interested. No tomato unused!
I have not yet. I will have to give it a shot! 😄
Do you offer recipes? Or did I miss them?
