- This is a video that will teach you how to fix your Samsung 8-Latest (Plus and Ultra Included) or Note 8-Latest. This will allow you to forcefully update your ROM/Android System/Firmware after a bad over the air update ("OTA"). Thank you for this excellent guide! Unfortunately, I can't find any ROM with the HOME CSC for the SM-G800F😢 Looks like Samsung started to support this feature from the S8 or later. I will continue to check ROMs for other variants like SM-G800H, SM-G800M, SM-G800Y but my hopes to resurrect this phone r looking quite slim. I thought all the memos and data I want to recover were saved on the Samsung cloud which I kept alive for this purpose. Unfortunately, Samsung made some changes to its cloud backup policy and all data I was hoping to find there r gone!☹ Damn u Samsung!

@@matiasbruna7338 Nope, it didn't work on the SM-G800F. I am not sure about yours sorry, you need to check through Frija if it contains HOME CSC or not.
You saved my day, Andrew! I was able to recover my phone which was stuck in horrible infinite bootloop. Many of my files and 2FA (login credentials) apps are all in there. After following your clear instructions, my phone is able to boot normally - no file nor app is lost whatsoever. I cannot thank you enough for your great help! 🙏

Just a small tip if someone finds this wonderful tutorial and has a similar problem to me - if Odin is not reacting to bootloader - go into download mode (press and hold all 3 buttons) and then press start. For the author - thank you so much, worked like a charm.

This is the BEST detailed explanation on how to resurrect your Samsung phone. I have a S7Edge that crashed over the weekend. Local repair people wanted to replace the motherboard, sell me a new phone or make me go through hoops to get an appointment but I just knew it was a software OS issue. Followed your detailed steps and it worked just as described. I also appreciated the explanation behind the steps. One issue I had with Frija was it took some digging to get the correct model and CSC for it to work but one the correct data was in the process clicked. Thank you again for saving my phone.
Dear Andrew, I want to thank you sooo much for providing this video. My A71 got into a boot loop out of nowhere and I did not want to loose the data on it. Wherever I searched, it was said that by flashing the device through Odin, the data will be gone, so I did not have the confidence to do it. Andrew, for the life of me, I cannot thank you enough for this. I took my S23 Ultra to a mom and pop shop to get some work done. I don't know what they did or how they did it, but I stopped receiving updates to my phone. After several months of no updates, I got paranoid and went up to them. They updated my software but completely reset my phone and told me this is how I could get software updates only. I noticed they were using Odin so I started looking up guides on it (I am a tech literate person and pretty capable with repairs and software fixes. Though I've mostly done that on Linux and Windows computer and am not as confident in working with phone OS) and found yours. It was extremely helpful and let me update my phone without having to completely reset my phone.
P.S. I updated using a USB C-to-C cable because my computer is pretty modern and has no USB 2.0 (or even 3.0) ports. I only have USB 3.2 Gen ports. However, it worked like a charm and I had no issues with it. Once again, thank you so so much!

I just want to also add something for the people coming here. In most forums it is written that you have to flash to the same version of android in order not to get in trouble. For my case, I never updated my Galaxy A71 until the boot loop problem started. So, when that happened, my phone was still in Android 10. On the other hand, Frija gives the latest update, which for my case was the files in Android 11. So I was really in doubt if I should use what Frija has given me or not. I did and it worked: No data loss, although I never updated my phone before and I jumped from a faulty not-starting Android 10 device into a healthy Android 11 device. I cannot gurantee this version change through Odin works for other cases, but I thought maybe sharing my experience can be helpful. Best to everyone and everyone's phones. 😄

It works, thank you so much. Android update is so sensitive to stability of WiFi. Hopefully it is the only reason of death crashing.

Thank you so so much for this tutorial brother. For the first time my phone ran into a bootloop where it seemed there was no remedy whatsoever (except taking it to a Samsung center, but I doubt I could keep my data that way), and your video saved it. My phone is up and running again with all the data is pretty much intact. I'll have to be more careful with third party apps from now on, but thanks to you I didn't have to pay dearly for my carelessness.
By the way, do you recommend any reliable, sane cleaner apps? After much research on the internet I found SD Maid to be highly recommended. I gave it go and it was the reason my phone ran into the aforementioned bootloop.
Please help, any suggestion would be helpful! will this work for FRP problem ? My phone restarted to samsung logo and was stuck there for 10 mins, I did a power + volume down to shut it down and then restarted it but now everytime it restarts to FRP, even though my google account is logged in I can't get past the enable google services page.. I don't want to lose some of my important data

Is telling me my datas are lost, but I still have hope cause it happened me before and fixed itself suddenly... still can't explain what happened and nobody so far could
Leap of faith! If it can't boot then its lost anyway, if you can boot after and login into your phone then you are good to go. Trust me I had the same nerve reckoning feeling while doing this without any content to go by. This was a theory I tested that seems to have helped so many since I've released the video and discovered this fix. The phone has to boot regardless to recover the data since the SSD/Nand in the phone are encrypted by the rom.

What if you use Download Mode with Odin instead of fastboot? Is the outcome the same? I ask because my device is stuck on a bootloop and I cannot make fastboot to work
Great question, using download mode will give you the same outcome. You may continue to use Odin to fix your phone

its say Error:(Firmware Information for provided model/csc not found )but model/csc I put correctly.

Frija isn't decrypting the file for me so I only end up with a zip.enc4 file rather than a .zip file. What should I do?
Did you update the version to the later version? If so redownload the files and dont update.
@@Howeitworks yeah, I had but I figured out a way around it by downloading and decrypting the firmware files using samloader
15:28 I didn't get 5 seperate files, just one big file when I downloaded it for my Galaxy S6
I have no experience with S6s I would advice checking out XDA developers

Cuando descargo el archivo de frija solamente me da un archivo.

You must extract the zip to access the other files, if it only provides one file you will have to find your firmware from some place else.
I have never done any backup and the phone is stuck on the display ODIN flash read failure, there is no pit binary…following your steps will i be able to not lose all the files?
Did you do the flash on a USB 3.0 port or USB hub? I've only ran into this issue if I'm not using a healthy cord in a USB 2.0 port directly.

I cant seem to find my phone's firmware. Its SM-S911B/DS and csc is OXM, but when i type it in and press check update on frija it doesnt fint it. I'm really lost. Please help!
Some firmware are not available for some carriers, unfortunately I would not know where to locate that specific firmware. I do apologize but some resources are limited with Frija.

mate its in 720p which is plenty good to read. notice how slow his computer is, its probably really old so all it can do is record at 720p

The IMEI is part of your phone's hardware just like a Mac Address, it can not be deleted. The AVB Fail may be related to Samsung driver issue, I would check to see if there are updated drivers from Samsung by downloading there lastest Smart Switch software.
On j7 2017 j730f if i do this, after power on pattern is clear? Because i forgot the pattern and i want to recover photos.
If your patterns do not work after the re-flash then unfortunately anything on the device is lost.

I couldn't be able to give you a suggestion since I don't know the symptoms, device model, or any troubleshooting steps that you've attempted.
not sure the full steps i did but after fiddling with odin as shown in the video, which did restore my os, but the system apps for my user profile were still uninstalled. so i tried my luck with the recovery menu, i managed to make my samsung A54 phone boot into a "semi reset safe mode" and it tells me to do a full reset to get out of safe mode... managed to move my camera pictures and files out of the internal storage but everything else apps whatsapp sms all wiped in this state.. a reminder for me to do regular backups... also check if it safe before you use ADB to uninstall required system apps

Its possible but I have no idea what firmware or model number of samsung you are using.
Is this doable on a Samsung s21? I got mine stuck at my screenlock, and it wont accept my pincode. When I enter the code it goes black screen for 2 sec, and then back at pincode screen.
Im quite sure its just a software fail and I have so many pictures of our daughter, that I dont want to delete :/
At your own risk but yes as long as you get to the bootloader. I have yet to try it on my S21 Ultra that I just recently purchased. I'm getting my other Android fixed over the weekend. I can give it a try on my phone before you try it on yours. If everything is successful my data will not be affected. Please read description to join our community to get help and more advice.

You may need to look at your Samsung box for that information about your model. If you don't have that information please call 611 with your carrier and get that information from a rep.

This sounds like either you have a bad battery or your ssd in your phone is going bad.

It can but its a pain in the rear to do, this video is meant for recovery not unlocking. You must use a rom from a different carrier to bypass carrier unlocking. Your phone must be OEM unlock to carrier unlock with a different from. XDA developers is the best place for information about this.

Hello Andrew, I have Samsung F62 and I forgot my password. I want my data as I don't have any backup and also I don't have adb enabled. Will using home_csc reset my password and give me a fresh OS without deleting my internal storage?? Any help to save data will be highly appreciated. Thanks
You are asking to backup your data without your password, unfortunately that is not what this video or tools are for. Be careful of software that is out there that say that they can unlock your phone.
Hi Andrew! I need some urgent piece of advice from you. My samsung phone got stuck in recovery. how to get to you? could not find any way to post my issue in your discord channel.
There is a new channel called public chat beta in my discord. You have to get your phone out of recovery and into download mode or the bootloader. Then use frija to download your firmware and then use Odin to flash your firmware files so that you can recover your ROM. Keep in mind phones that are over 5 years old are going to have issues with flashing after a while because the SSD built into the phone which holds the data and offering system goes bad after a while. Apologize if any grammar is off I'm using Google to write this message

Part of the problem is is if you have ports that are closed on your router or your internet service provider

I did this and cuz my phone was stuck in download mode when trying to install an update. It's been almost 2 hours now since I clicked 'start', and Odin3 has not started the process yet.
Ps. I do have a crappy Meser laptop, but is it supposed to be this slow?

PROBLEM SOLVED!
I realised I was using Odin3 v.3.10 so I downloaded v.3.14 and also vcredist 2010, and it was done in 4 mins👍
Need USB 2.0 Ports to do the flash otherwise update your chipset drivers.
