Good review. I guess sticker shock compared to my visits to Avalon back in the 70's because I grew up in LB. Have considered taking my mountain bike over there for a multiple day ride and camping in the back country.
Awesome video! We went beginning of August but the difference with my video is we had our 2 year old daughter haha - one day still. VERY WORTH IT! Last time it was with my family and we stayed 4 nights - TOO LONG 😂😂
I Love Catalina there’s a lot to do , so I go twice sometimes 3 times a year sometimes we go on boat or on the helicopter it’s amazing having rented the jet ski yet to get there , it’s definitely a beautiful get away 🥰 and I always have a great time !
I had a bad expireance with the people i went with, not the island itself. We barely made it on the boat cause "my friends" was hung over from a night of heavy drinking. The toxic couple were fighting the entire boat ride to the island and back. Someone went missing the entire day. Then at the end of the night i left "my friends" on the island to catch the boat back to the main land.

Those boats are known as the cattle boats. I have gone out there many many times. I also took the bicycle like you did. I think it I had had you to go with me it would have been much nicer (for me at least).
It’s 42.50 now from Catalina Express plus tax & my bike. Catalina Flyer is a bit cheaper but quite a drive for me. OMG, the inflation but I think it’s still worth it. Lovely day 😍

Not every place fits everyone… I honestly don’t mind coming back for day trips just to relax especially if the weather is so nice and then be sad when it’s time to go 🥰
