- During our 4 night Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas cruise we got a chance to visit Catalina Island, a cute little island about 30 miles off of the California coast. It was our first time here and we completely fell in love. I went solo for the first time ever on a cruise a few weeks ago. I joined a group cruise through other RUclipsrs and met another solo woman who watches you two as well! Long story short we decided when we went to St. Thomas we would try to recreate the food tour you did! We also went to the Yoda Guy museum in St. Maarten. We both had a blast! Thanks for the inspiration!

In 1984 i had a blast, i was with a group of international students. Me as a Canadian, was also considered a foreigner. One of the best dats ever. Thanks for bringing it back.

In the 7th & 8th grade we went on a weekend trip to Catalina and we stayed in like cabins right by the water and went snorkeling and learned about all the wildlife on the island it was great! Perks of growing up in Southern California. We weren’t close to the town Avalon we were more close to the north end of the island

If you go back to Catalina for the day, the trick is to take the first boat out of Long Beach that way you arrive about 7:30-8am for breakfast then book the latest boat back so you don't get stuck up in the hills hiking and you miss the boat... Then you can relax and get the most out of the day. And if you get bored, you can always change your tickets for an earlier boat back to Long Beach. They have the largest number of boats back and forth.
This is a good tip. I think we plan to return when the weather is better this summer

Last year in September, I have been to Catalina Island just by taking a ferry boat from Long Beach. My family and I, as well as some family friends that came with us, walked around and even rented our own golf carts to explore the rest of Avalon. We then got ice cream from Scoops and ate at Bluewater Avalon.

Last time I went to Catalina I was too young to rent a golf cart so my friend and I walked everywhere , still had a great time!
Except for that one hill it seems like it wouldn’t be a bad walk
