In the 7th & 8th grade we went on a weekend trip to Catalina and we stayed in like cabins right by the water and went snorkeling and learned about all the wildlife on the island it was great! Perks of growing up in Southern California. We weren’t close to the town Avalon we were more close to the north end of the island
We have wanted to go to Catalina for sometime but is near impossible for us. So we so enjoyed watching you two do this one. Was a lot of fun, informative and we appreciate you doing this.

My wife and I spent 3 days there for our anniversary in October, and had a great time. Did and interior tour in a HumVee, drove a golf cart all around, did some biking, stayed at the beautiful Hotel Avalon and experienced quite a few restaurants. You kind of feel like you’ve gone to another country, but are just an hour ferry ride from Long Beach
Wow. Loved this video. Brought back some memories, i was on Catalina In 1984 i had a blast, i was with a group of international students. Me as a Canadian, was also considered a foreigner. One of the best dats ever. Thanks for bringing it back.
If you go back to Catalina for the day, the trick is to take the first boat out of Long Beach that way you arrive about 7:30-8am for breakfast then book the latest boat back so you don't get stuck up in the hills hiking and you miss the boat... Then you can relax and get the most out of the day. And if you get bored, you can always change your tickets for an earlier boat back to Long Beach. They have the largest number of boats back and forth.

My family and I, as well as some family friends that came with us, walked around and even rented our own golf carts to explore the rest of Avalon. We then got ice cream from Scoops and ate at Bluewater Avalon.

It is endearing that we see Peter and Kitra kiss near the statue of Old Ben the beloved seal. If only I had the time , energy, and my sister to go to Catalina during the cooler months from December til May, I would love to book a hotel room and stay the entire weekend, if I had sufficient time to research and plan efficiently ------ relaxing, yet filled with fun and delicious food. If no time for a Royal Caribbean Cruise, then, Catalina would be exciting and fun. Hope you do visit Catalina again because with my health issues, my thoughts are wishful thinking? Maybe if it is not crazy, outrageously expensive. Everything is crazy expensive so I really should be frugal and save as much money as I for a carefree retirement in the future. Yes!!! Go again. The last time we were there we had a great Geo Cache adventure. The snorkeling at Casino point was awesome. The best though, was the Island Safari bus tour to Two Harbor.

My family added a day trip to Catalina to our Disneyland vacation back in 2018. I saw an article about it and convinced my family to make a day of it lol. I was so grateful we went! We still talk about it all the time and can't wait to go back to spend more time there!
You can always go back! We were lucky enough to do the glass bottom boat (not sure if they still have that), the jeep ride, and the boat ride to go see dolphins. It was the most amazing day!

hi kitra and peter...my wife and i have been to catalina over 40 times .. we love it that much.. now if you want to have a great time jump on the catalina express out of long beach..and stay for the weekend...or longer at one of the hotels on the island.. thats what we do..we live in upland.so we drive to long beach jump on the catalina express ..and go spend the weekend..you will love it...
Hi there ! There are lots of hotels on Catalina Island now but a great place to stay is the Aurora Hotel. Good places to eat are Steve's steak House, Avalon Grill, The Lobster trap & Maggies Blue Rose. Things to do, zip line, submarine ride, glass bottom boat, casino tour and rent a golf cart and drive all over the island.@@OrdinaryAdventures
Been to Catalina many times. We even stayed a weekend there. It’s a must see for anyone visiting CA. The Casino was never a gambling house. The word actually means a ‘gathering place’. It was a very popular ballroom with great bands in their day, as well as a theater. I’m glad you enjoyed the island. It’s actually quite large it’s length is about the same as the distance from long beac. We sailed there a couple of times to the isthmus out of Huntington Harbor near seal Beach.
Just so you know, I laughed at the "mine, mine" seagull. It was perfect! So, if it's funny in your head, there will be some of us that think its funny too. Don't know what that says about us, but I will go with, great minds think alike!

Last time I went to Catalina I was too young to rent a golf cart so my friend and I walked everywhere , still had a great time!

hi kitra and peter...my wife and i have been to catalina over 40 times .. we love it that much.. now if you want to have a great time jump on the catalina express out of long beach..and stay for the weekend...or longer at one of the hotels on the island.. thats what we do..we live in upland.so we drive to long beach jump on the catalina express ..and go spend the weekend..you will love it...
What things on Catalina would you recommend doing? Places to eat? Etc
Hi there ! There are lots of hotels on Catalina Island now but a great place to stay is the Aurora Hotel. Good places to eat are Steve's steak House, Avalon Grill, The Lobster trap & Maggies Blue Rose. Things to do, zip line, submarine ride, glass bottom boat, casino tour and rent a golf cart and drive all over the island.@@OrdinaryAdventures
Been to Catalina many times. We even stayed a weekend there. It’s a must see for anyone visiting CA. The Casino was never a gambling house. The word actually means a ‘gathering place’. It was a very popular ballroom with great bands in their day, as well as a theater. I’m glad you enjoyed the island. It’s actually quite large it’s length is about the same as the distance from long beac. We sailed there a couple of times to the isthmus out of Huntington Harbor near seal Beach.
