- With King Aegon iii Targaryen dying young at the age of 37 rule of the seven kingdoms of westeros fell to his eldest son the 14 year old Daeron, whom with the guidance of his uncle and had Prince Viserys would bring glory to westeros that had not been seen since the time of Aegon the conqueror. The rise of the young dragon would be quick and his fall just as quick. Despite the fear of his small council and lords King Daeron i Targaryen pressed on with his planned invasion of Dorne with the help of Lord Alyn Velaryon The Oakenfist and Lord Tyrell of Highgarden. The invasion tool the Dornish and House Martell by surprise and soon enough Dorne was in the hands of the iron throne, but just like every other invasion of Dorne not all would go smoothly for the young dragon. King Daeron i Targaryen and his invasion of Dorne was all but done, but one last thing stood in his way, and it would be a bloody task, the capture of the seat of House Martell, Sunspear, and its shadow citie. But even after this was done, there was still the issue of the Dornish outlaws whom would resist House Targaryen's subjugation at every turn. While Dorne was under the control of House Targaryen, almost as soon as the young King Daeron i returned to King's Landing rebellions popped up all over the sands of Dorne. The King would need to return to the sands to put them down and return peace to his new kingdom. Things were going well, until the final Betrayal came from the Dornish, ending the short reign of the young dragon.

Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was trapped on Dragonstone by her brother King Aegon ii with no way to escape her fate. What was to come was the final showdown between the two main players of the dance of the dragons and bring the war into its final phase. The House of the dragon was crumbling and the events that was about to follow would only cause more damage to both sides of the war.

Can't wait for " the complete reign of visarys 2" and it's like 10 minutes long .
not gonna lie i was surprised i was able to get two videos out of it. If i combine then it would be about 13 minutes so probably won't bother. Really hope fire and blood part 2 fleshes Vissy 2 out a bit more.
@@WorldOfWesteros it'll probably talk a lot more about his time as hand and probably like 2 or 3 pages of him as king.
First Targaryen to be crowned in Vaes Dothrak (ba domp tsss)
It’s actually praiseworthy that Daeron was able to do this without any dragons. Imagine if the DoD didn’t happen…
You could say that dragons hampered their strategy. Why focus on the army aspect if you got a nuke
we have the grey rats thank for that
Then Daeron wouldn't have been King . If the Dance didn't happen and if they would have crowned Rhaenyra , after her death Jace would have been King and House Velaryon would have ruled the Seven Kingdoms
Everything would have been different
@@daralcampbell2171
Well, why not both? Sure, Dragons mean you don't need to plan stuff out as usual but still, some strategy would've made all the difference, like when Jaehaerys kinda had Intel to route the Dornish fleet (not the best example but, still worked)
@nicksmithnutmilk
House Strong would rule the 7 Kingdoms, you mean 🤔
Also, if the Dance never happened, it's not only assumed that the Black's get the right of way. The Dance could've been avoided had Aegon II been crowned king without issue as well
But yes, either way, Daeron wouldn't be King.
BUT, maybe he could've still recommended an invasion to the current King (either Aegon II or his Heir Jaehaerys) and led their forces as general, with Dark Sister perhaps instead of Blackfyre, unless the King at the time gifted Blackfyre as a symbol of command
Baelor's peace measures are more effective than Daeron's wars. At last Dorne joined the seven kingdoms. Today only Dorne is still plot for a Targaryn restoration.
Negotiating with foreigners sounds like a Viserys II
You're wrong. Balor acted very stupidly; he could easily have been killed or captured. He will die from the poison of snakes. Dorne did nothing to help Viserys and Daenerys
As per books Princess Arianne Martell was bethrted to Viserys. But his stupidity he crowned with molten gold. Arianne was going to saw the Young Griff. His brother gone to Dorne and meet Daenerys but she rejected him. Later he tried to steal a dragon. It marked his death. Dorne was always standing with Targaryns. Daenerys didn't use it.
Where was Dorne when Viserys and Daenerys wandered through the free cities without food?
@@sankarkrishnan407
Yeah, overall had Viserys known about the marriage pact, maybe he would've acted differently. Could've gone to Dorne before anything else
And Baelor has plenty of bad actions that combat with his good, so I wouldn't say he was 100% a better king
I thank you for the great video on the young Dragon Daeron!!!
He was an ambitious young king which cost him his life
Sad but true. Still a cool kid
Never was a big fan of his, but he is a hero of Jon and Robb. And, in my book, that elevates you a lot. I'm a bigger fan of his cousin Aemon the Dragonknight
Young boys in westaros like to idolize war and young warriors regardless of context , at least Jon got a wake up call from benjen.
Aemon died for his honor instead of letting The Unworthy die and spare the land of his incompetence
@@thatoneblackdude3333
Well. Daeron and Aemon as a tag team was dope to think about either way.
@@tuckernutter
Well, the King was also his brother, therefore kin. So he's his King and his Blood, and he's a Knight of the Kingsguard, so... would've been hard to figure out his way through this without backlash, such as Jamie in a way.
The longer videos are MONEY! KEEP IT UP
No doubt your best synopsis yet!! I like the longer, more detailed form-keep up the good work!!
Trying to take the whole of Dorne all at once my force was a blunder I think~ Try to take and hold the Red Mountains as this is the most defensible position in Dorne then after securing that bit you can take Dorne with ease~
Maybe, but that also means you'd have to supply your army for longer as well, and taking Dorne piece-meal still has the same after effect that happens regardless if you take it all at once or not: constant Rebellion.
Man, it took me way too long to realize Daeron I was a mirror of Robb Stark. Both were 14 years old when they became King, both were brilliant military leaders and never lost a battle on the field, and both were treacherously betrayed and murdered under a false peace banner.
Id love to see a video on the lads in the dance of the dragons
Hail king Daeron long may he reign.
Dead at 37 is sad. But given the vipers at court. An Aegon the fourth I think it's fair. To say that poison is not out of the question. Daeron was a war monger. B the blessed zealot should have been slipped some early on. He was what nearly destroyed his family line. Because he was a moron.
he's reign might be short but legendary one
always know dornish aren't goid guys
Anyone else think it's weird Viserys II named a son after the man who killed his older brother
Dorne is a damn powerhouse. God damn
How can I access the map of Westeros that you use in this video?
I should have news on this very soon, been having a few technical issues exporting at a reasonable file size.
@@WorldOfWesteros I hope it can be fixed as soon as possible, I'm just curious about the shape of the castle on the Westeros map in your video
First to take the Black 🖤
You beat me to the wall again. I think lol
Before gods and men
“Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come”

Is there any mention or reference to whether or not the you dragon king Daeron ever came across that secret Targaryan prophecy?
not that i know of, a leading theory is that knowledge of it was lost after the dance as everyone who knew died, then Rhaegar rediscovered it in a book or something along those lines
Should’ve killed the dornish one and all
So Daeron I needed a regency after all
probably would have solved a lot of the issues that came as a result of his early death tbh
Daeron I was my favorite king, he showed that you don’t need dragons to be great.
Sultan Daeron Han
tbf it was because of him dorne came
Daemon & Rhanerya are his grandparents.
I still dont think she died that way
Dorne is a lot like Westerosi Afghanistan
Not at all lol. Dorne's people and government is way more stable.
And way more progressive towards women
Like the total opposite lmao
It is now after centures of incorporation. Not after getting dragon blasted it wasn't@@JimSty-bh1os
It would be much smarter if Daeron just married a Dornish princess. I always wondered why he never married? He doesnt seem that intrested in women. Maybe he was gay? If he is based on Alexander the Great that would explain it.
i suspect we may get answers on the subject of why he never married should we ever get a fire and blood part 2
Alexander the Great was not gay. He had 3 wives and loved women
I think part of it was he didn't think that far. Maybe he was gay. That might help explain Baelor. And his insanity with trying to make up for everyone's sins. Or perhaps Baelor was just insane. And Daeron just wanted glory like any egotistical young man. And didn't think he could die young. All very interesting theories about all of it.
@@TraciPeteyforlife Baelor was just a fanatic. Only the small folk liked him because they were just as religious.
Nearly every word in this comment is wrong
he's reign might be short but legendary one
