The way you EXPLAINED everything made me take 4 pages worth of NOTES, something I could never take in online school, public school, or basically anything else, and I did it in a matter of 20 minutes. It's honestly amazing the way you explain everything because it makes the viewer engaged. I respect you for giving us information and expert advice. Thank you for helping us Mr. Bett! 🙌
@6:46-Mr Betts, the skyscraper would not have been possible if it wasn't for master mechanic Elisha Otis's invention of a lift safety brake which stopped an elevator from free-falling should the hoisting cables snap. Otis exhibited this invention at the New York Crystal Palace by standing on a hoist platform, demonstrating by having an assistant cut the cable. The brake worked. Otis shouted out, "All Safe". Those watching applauded with a thunderous roar. He started a manufacturing company with his sons which eventually became the world-wide Otis Elevator Company.
I know that most people probably don't know or care but the drum sample in the background of the intro is from a song called The Perfect Drug by Nine Inch Nails. Again, I realize that nobody cares but I'm a big fan and I really hope Mr.Betts intentionally did that. thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
I cover all but three of the terms you mentioned in the video! At least I know I am hitting all the major issue. I will use the video with my students as a fantastic review before our unit exam in a couple of week!!! Thanks for everything you do!!!
Hey Mr. Betts - thanks for wearing the Garfield shirt - my students and I are still hopeful you will do that Garfield video someday. Anyway the last name is correctly pronounced with an I sound at the end.
this is so good if at all possible you could do this for the other 6 periods in apush that would be amazing because this helped me so much for my gilded age test.
I know this is 2 years old and probably nobody is gonna see this comment... but I studied and took notes about this whole video... I did have to pause every 4 seconds 😂😂 but it really helped and I got a 90 on my test
I hate studying for tests I can never remember anything I literally been studying for 5 hours took a practice quiz that’s very similar to my test tomorrow and I still got a 0 after studying for 5 hours I think it’ll be out of pure luck if I get a good grade on this test tomorrow I’m not a highly religious person but god I’ve been a good person lately please ensure I get over an 80% tomorrow my life depends on it
Your videos are AMAZING don’t hv history this year because I had some other classes I have to take but always watch ur videos and listen to your music a ton to be honest also are you a Democrat or Republican and who did you vote for in the last election?
Alan hAha I got a 100 point quiz tomorrow and you said this Thursday so I’m guessing you were study at least 2 days ahead of the test day me on the other hand my procrastinating self is studying the night before at 11 pm
MrBettsClass Yup, this year we’re learning everything from the gilded age until modern day. Also, I took my history test and got 100%, you helped a lot :)
Thanks for highlighting Nikola Tesla. The gruesome Edison (who was also a social Darwinist and a privileged elitist of his times) is nothing and no one in comparison to Tesla, both as a human and a scientist.
If you have any fan that is so dedicated and devoted that would be me;im your obbssed fan by the way i started printing lyrics of your parody and leaving them in public; i might be the reason of your increasing subscriber Shoutout? If you didint notice it yet i created myself another 2 fake email so you could have two more subscriber

You know I did. I love that drum breakdown part. You're the first to notice.
I love your class! It's so fun and educational at the same time; it's also so informational!!!
Great! Will use this spring. Minor correction: Carnegie's Homestead steel mill was outside Pittsburg not Philadelphia.
+owlgirl1905 technically, it's also outside Philly as well, right? 😁 Thanks anyway and glad you liked it.
I cover all but three of the terms you mentioned in the video! At least I know I am hitting all the major issue. I will use the video with my students as a fantastic review before our unit exam in a couple of week!!! Thanks for everything you do!!!

You’ve pronounced Carnegie right once 3 min in
Thx fam
Thank you for the information, but Thomas Edison is not the creator of many things you mention… someone should make a video about that!
Somebody should make a video about that x5
Showing this to my students is US History A!
Watching in preparation for the new HBO series (by the same folks who made Downton Abbey!) However, staying and subbing for the KNOWLEDGE.
