I was called by the Jeremy Kyle team and I can confirm they were borderline predatory. My ex just wanted his 5 minutes so rang in for a paternity, like I was ever going to say yes. The woman on the phone was extremely pushy, telling me she was obsessed with me and that I was so interesting that they could create a whole episode, which was nonsense, because they don't do that at all. I can imagine a person who had low self esteem, having someone show that level of interest in them, would be pretty tempting. I never understood why people went on it, then realised they didn't for a second think they were going to be the bad one on the show. I ended up telling her she was a parasite and to get a better job and she hung up. What a surprise.

I have done lots of tv if you agree to do a show you or you guardian if you're under 18 needs to send a e mail agreeing or you need 5o sign something, if you disagree say no thanks and put the phone down, if they are persistent block the number and information Ofcom
I watched a documentary about Jeremy Kyle, based on the death of Steve Dymond (R.I.P). Some of the guests who were on the show implied the same thing. Like when it comes to someone needing help with addiction, apparently they had to compete against other families for the spot in rehab, and the most desparate family got it. A guy mentioned when his wife took her own life after being on the show, and nothing was done about it. Yet the show gets cancelled after Steve passed away.
@@sarahwatkins4520 I saw that too - it wasn't just the guests, but the way those ex-producers talked about how they were overworked and picked out because of their working class backgrounds, how they all had mental health problems, how they were made to pump up guests, how they were all terrified of losing their jobs, how one of them committed su*cide, it's all heartbreaking. It sounds like an awful cult of some kind. So many deaths and lives ruined because of that show and their stupid 61% accurate lie detector tests. Good riddance!
@@AimeeColeman In part two of the documentary, one of the producers talked about going to work the day after they found out that Steve Dymond committed suicide, to find that they were all made redundant and that all traces of the show had vanished, from studio bits to phone & text numbers taken out of service to accounts being deleted, all this done within 24 hours of the Steve Dymond suicide.
It's almost like the executive producer & ITV had this in place as a contingency in case the shit really hit the fan.

@@daisyhall499 oh absolutely- the win could’ve gone to any of the top three and i would’ve been happy. it’s great to see what the queens have been up to since, but i agree that Lawrence hasn’t done as much, at least not that i’ve seen. Hopefully they are getting lots of opportunities that fit their drag persona and is making the most of their win regardless
and Ella Vaday the series after. Krystal should not have won. Ella was the most consistent throughout the whole series and had never been in the bottom 2 and had the most badges. I am still salty that Ella didn't win.

@@LunaHex13 oh totally Krystal is a brilliant queen and clearly has the work ethic to make it and be successful in the drag world i just felt in terms of the competition Ella was the more worthy winner. She was either safe or top in nearly every challenge. She is multi talented and showed a wide range of skills. I just felt Ella should have won. Felt liek the more natural and obvious winner. But that isn't me saying that Krystal is a bad queen. She is an amazing queen who will have a glittering career in the drag world. She just wasn't as strong overall as Ella. She had weaker moments.

Jeremy Kyle was certainly exploitative. I see no way back for him in terms of his career. His TV show was the equivalent of a freak show.

These are some of the reasons why I don’t watch Reality TV anymore. It’s a toxic TV format that simply exploits vulnerable people for ratings. 😠
Also let’s not forget Zoe Alexander, the Pink lookalike from Wales who was on the X Factor in 2012. The producers told her to sing a Pink song. Zoe actually was trying to be herself but the X Factor producers tricked her. They set her up to be one of those crazy contestants which resulted in ruining her life, causing her to attempt suicide. She posted a video on RUclips a couple of years ago explaining what had actually happened that day she auditioned. Go watch it.
Edit: The people who run these shows need to be held accountable. They need to be shown that they can’t get away with something like this because this type of slavery and abuse should be illegal. It’s disgusting. I’m simply saying this as someone who is a true believer in justice. If they can cancel Jeremy Kyle then they can also cancel Simon Cowell and the other SYCO-paths too. 👊

The show about the kids living together was not abusive, the kids could at any point call a adult to come pick them up. This show was super clever , it was really showing
A. Barely any of the kids knew basic survival skills, I mean kids can be kids but kids do have the ability to learn how to take care of themselves which kids of 11 did and even knew how to run a house over 120 years ago , but parents keep kids as kids so much that they don't learn basics until they are finished school .
B. It showed how kids today aren't able to survive properly.

Why did Nasty Nick get booted from the Big Brother house? I get the housemates being mad finding out he's double crossing everyone but isn't the aim of gameshows to win? Not like he was breaking any explicit or even implicit rules AFAIK and manipulating others seems like the aim of the game in that case. Maybe he was doing it a bit too well and the producers didn't want it repeated I dunno.
He brought in "contraband" which was a pen and paper. HIS stupidity was literally writing down his plans on paper on how he planned to get the other HMs to nominate each other--hahaha. Also (unlike Big Brother US) UK HMs were NOT allowed to talk about nominations PERIOD. If the HMs said who they nominated, asked who other HMs nominated, or tried to influence other HMs to nominate a certain HM that is IMMEDIATE grounds for eviction from the Big Brother House. That was in the UK Big Brother rules in the early years of the show from 2000 to @2005.

There was only 1 reason for benefit street and other such shows, take the worst cases, treat them as the norm, to justify miss treatment of those who are in the most need. It was disgusting. The show could have been used to show how being on benefits really is, since the majority on benefits, work.
Channel 4 should be held accountable for their reality version of “Lord Of The Flies” and their awful exploitation of the vulnerable known as “Benefits Street”.
