It isnt so much the undateables...but their PARENTS reactions when asked how they would feel for their child to find love?! Every single one cries or wells up. That is so sweet and yet heartbreaking! My husband would have been considered undateable, he was quadriplegic (also middle aged, very self absorbed, & divorced with horrible adult children). When he wanted to date me I made it clear what held him back in life was not that he was quadriplegic, what held him back is his total focus on himself & on his disability. I told him a disability doesn't define a person, there's more to someone than that. If he wanted others to see more in him than the disability, he needed to see more in himself than that. He took what I said to heart & made changes in himself, resumed his career & had a busy life. Btw, we also got married & remained married for 20 yrs until he passed away.
My son had a stroke which changed his whole life. At first he said no one would want him. But he started facebook looking and had many dates. He told the ladies that he could not drive any more so the date would have to be at his home. Many ladys took him up on it and he did remarry and now has a new family. His children were grown.She saw him , not the disability.

I met a man who happened to be quadriplegic. After an initial 5 minutes of intense back and forth flirting, he said, "If I weren't in a wheelchair, I'd ask you on a date," to which I spun around and said right back, "Just because you're in a wheelchair shouldn't stop you from asking me out!" So it didn't. We were married a year later.
I skipped through it because I couldn't stand the way she was looking at him! That being said, it can be off-putting to bring up your future wedding right off the bat. But she definitely started the awkwardness by being closed off and unfriendly.

My one & only school dance I was privileged to attend was after I left high school.. one of my co-workers who had a very bad case of Tourettes was so sad that the 5 girls he tried to ask all turned him down harshly ..I went with him & it was one of my most favorite nights ..I wish he had been able to stay in town ,but he moved fkr collage across the U.S. ..i wish others saw the amazing person who may be hidden under a perceived flaw.. There's a short film about 3 guys who have tourette's and it was an amazing film. One guy was in a band, very active in adrenalin rush activities and in his 30s, another is in his 20s, and the "biscuit" girl is his role model and they hung out with a kid about 12 or 13 that his tourette's is so bad, he gets momentary paralysis from head to toe. He falls out onto the street, so the other two just lay down with him.
Typo Haven I did something similar in junior high, the girls night was pretty great apparently. She got her friend to ask me out a few years later but she already had a kid and wasn’t what I was looking for in a girl so I turned it down. Glad I could dance with her and cheer her up a little though.

I have panic disorder and have rough episodes of depression at times. I feel so unlovable and undatable. It hurts and I understand how they feel. I think they are all genuine, beautiful people.
I'm cyclothymic (bipolar light) I am changeable I never know what my moods will be. Sometimes I'm bright and shiny and sometimes I want to crawl in a hole and be left alone. I am married to a man who accepts me and is my rock. He's very stable and enjoys my roller coaster highs and rides out the lows with me. Hang in there there is someone for each of us. You are amazing and stronger than you think.

Daniel is highly creative, unique, intense. He may have Aspergers, but plenty of people with Aspergers get married. He needs to look in for love in an artsy environment where people tend to be more open-minded, non-judgmental.
Daniel is the kind of guy I can see myself becoming friends with. The reason being for the love of good music and style (I myself listen to bands like Pantera, Lamb of God and Hatebreed which is a little different to his list though)

IlovemyCountry true that. A friend of mine always used to go to those because despite looking “different”, the people were always nice, probably because they congregate around a common interest. And let’s face it, “alternative” people can never be considered mainstream or boring.
I feel that you're probably right, but as someone with mild Asperger's I relate to him, and sometimes it can be a bit of a barrier. It makes you socially awkward, sometimes you miss social cues, and crowded and loud places can be a source of anxiety, or even mental exhaustion. I feel that I get along in public just fine, am only a bit socially awkward, and miss the minimal of social cues, but after even just a few hours at a social event like a Christmas party, I'll be so mentally exhausted that I just wanna sleep. Probably because my brain is going into overdrive to keep up socially, only to be burnt out. That said, I still enjoy being social, but sometimes it can seem a chore, especially multiple times in a week, and you just need some chill/recovery days to yourself or with minimal/laid back socializing.
The majority of people in this series, most people would think are above average in attractiveness. First 3 so far are all attractive! Daniel, Nasir and Fatima. Confidence is such a huge aspect...

Incels are people (typically men) desperate to be with a woman. Have bad experiences with them (can be the faults of the women or the incels). And developed hate toward women because of their failures in dating or getting a date.
Hell yeah! He's passionate but he's not self-centered. He's just as passionate and interested in her interests as he is in his own. He did so many things that a lot of "dateable" people fail at. He was inquisitive of her talents and abilities and when she showed him the sketch he started pointing out not only what he "liked" about it but how it connected with him and that it showed his personality. That's what you want to hear as an artist, that you were able to give someone something that they couldn't get from a photo and they see their soul in your art. Daniel's a great guy.

The thing is thats stutters are partially learned. So the teacher giving even more negative feedback (thats even putting it lightly haha), it probably made the stummer much worse than it wouldve been.
How can anyone be mean to ANYONE with a disability.. Adults are no more immune to the pain from abuse than children. I don't recall much of the bullying from when I was a child, but I definitely remember everything I get from other adults when my symptoms are at their worst. "But, hey, point out my "flaws" so you can ignore your own." That's how I look at it when people give me shit for things I have no control over.
When I saw the title and the thumbnail, what crossed my mind was that "the undateables" meant they were assholes and had way to high standards. Not being short or have a stutter. Stuff that have no control over doesn't mean they're undateable.

A show like this is good for people to see.... As most of the participants have some kind of quirk, but if you can get past it, there's a genuine caring person there. Many people who are a bit "outside" the norm can be the most loyal and loving.
There was a huge difference between Nisar hanging out with his friends and Nisar on a date. He was so nervous he didn't even smile or laugh, pretty focused on conversation. The meditation couldn't calm his nerves either :( Following through with the date until the end is great progress though.

My husband would have been considered undateable, he was quadriplegic (also middle aged, very self absorbed, & divorced with horrible adult children). When he wanted to date me I made it clear what held him back in life was not that he was quadriplegic, what held him back is his total focus on himself & on his disability. I told him a disability doesn't define a person, there's more to someone than that. If he wanted others to see more in him than the disability, he needed to see more in himself than that. He took what I said to heart & made changes in himself, resumed his career & had a busy life. Btw, we also got married & remained married for 20 yrs until he passed away.
My son had a stroke which changed his whole life. At first he said no one would want him. But he started facebook looking and had many dates. He told the ladies that he could not drive any more so the date would have to be at his home. Many ladys took him up on it and he did remarry and now has a new family. His children were grown.She saw him , not the disability.

There's a short film about 3 guys who have tourette's and it was an amazing film. One guy was in a band, very active in adrenalin rush activities and in his 30s, another is in his 20s, and the "biscuit" girl is his role model and they hung out with a kid about 12 or 13 that his tourette's is so bad, he gets momentary paralysis from head to toe. He falls out onto the street, so the other two just lay down with him.

Daniel is highly creative, unique, intense. He may have Aspergers, but plenty of people with Aspergers get married. He needs to look in for love in an artsy environment where people tend to be more open-minded, non-judgmental.

IlovemyCountry true that. A friend of mine always used to go to those because despite looking “different”, the people were always nice, probably because they congregate around a common interest. And let’s face it, “alternative” people can never be considered mainstream or boring.
I feel that you're probably right, but as someone with mild Asperger's I relate to him, and sometimes it can be a bit of a barrier. It makes you socially awkward, sometimes you miss social cues, and crowded and loud places can be a source of anxiety, or even mental exhaustion. I feel that I get along in public just fine, am only a bit socially awkward, and miss the minimal of social cues, but after even just a few hours at a social event like a Christmas party, I'll be so mentally exhausted that I just wanna sleep. Probably because my brain is going into overdrive to keep up socially, only to be burnt out.
That said, I still enjoy being social, but sometimes it can seem a chore, especially multiple times in a week, and you just need some chill/recovery days to yourself or with minimal/laid back socializing.
I (a goth/metal/rock girl) would definitely date him.

Hell yeah! He's passionate but he's not self-centered. He's just as passionate and interested in her interests as he is in his own. He did so many things that a lot of "dateable" people fail at. He was inquisitive of her talents and abilities and when she showed him the sketch he started pointing out not only what he "liked" about it but how it connected with him and that it showed his personality. That's what you want to hear as an artist, that you were able to give someone something that they couldn't get from a photo and they see their soul in your art. Daniel's a great guy.

The thing is thats stutters are partially learned. So the teacher giving even more negative feedback (thats even putting it lightly haha), it probably made the stummer much worse than it wouldve been.

How can anyone be mean to ANYONE with a disability.. Adults are no more immune to the pain from abuse than children. I don't recall much of the bullying from when I was a child, but I definitely remember everything I get from other adults when my symptoms are at their worst. "But, hey, point out my "flaws" so you can ignore your own." That's how I look at it when people give me shit for things I have no control over.

A show like this is good for people to see.... As most of the participants have some kind of quirk, but if you can get past it, there's a genuine caring person there. Many people who are a bit "outside" the norm can be the most loyal and loving.
There was a huge difference between Nisar hanging out with his friends and Nisar on a date. He was so nervous he didn't even smile or laugh, pretty focused on conversation. The meditation couldn't calm his nerves either :( Following through with the date until the end is great progress though.
