MK4 GOLF GTI COOLING FAN EXCHANGE

- Hello and welcome to the SPOOLIN UP channel.
In this video I exchange the large cooling fan on my MK4 Golf GTI as it was no longer working. Living in London there is always plenty of traffic and as the weather gets better the chances of the car overheating increases.
Replacing the cooling fan was an easy job but this is partly because I have previously deleted parts from the engine bay which has freed up space.
Part numbers listed below but may vary.
Large Cooling Fan Part No: 6X0 959 455 A
Large Cooling Fan Bracket Part No. 1J0 121 206 C
Good work on another great vid!
Glad you decided to save yourself the expense of the injectors ;-)
Looking forward to seeing you finally get this mapped, you've held out long enough and put a lot of work in!
Hahaha this is funny because I forgot who told me not to worry about the injectors, im glad you surfaced again. Thanks for the comment by the way!! I was told by the guy who was going to tune it I could get away with a 4 bar FPR!! Its all mapped now mate I love it I just need the time to make a video on it now.
@@SPOOLINUP Ah cool! I bet you're loving it, I don't know how you resisted so long, the transformation is huge!
What figures did it make? Or are you going to make me wait for the vid?
Yes its great, I don't really have roads near me where I can properly enjoy it though. I am waiting to visit my friend who lives out of London and we are going to take our cars for a little blast. In terms of figures I am not sure as I got my car mapped on the road by a guy who is well known for mapping 1.8t cars. The car will be going to a dyno day when I get back from holiday.
Excellent channel content yet again 👍🏻
Thanks Drew, im glad you think so 👍🏽 thanks for watching
Anytime!
You may not be producing content all the day every day but what you do produce is methodical and understandable…
As mentioned before, just keep doing what your doing!!
Thats what I try to do mate, if I had more time I would have less money so I just try and do what I can with what I have. Thanks for bringing some positive energy here in the comments man I really appreciate it 👍🏽
clever for the car AND video editing skillz ❤️🥰
Thanks ❤
Another great video!
Respect to you man, thanks!

@@SPOOLINUP 100% drop me a message I'll get you sorted bud have a wicked day
Thanks geeza I will for sure man 👊🏾 you too my man
Just found your channel bro , would like to see a buyers guide to the 1.8T
Thanks for watching the video mate. I could make a buyers guide one day, that is a good idea. I'm sure someone has done one already?
@@SPOOLINUP defo a great idea bud you gotta get it done , I'd say I'd do one but I cant get my words out on the best of days
Nice work! Almost there 😄 Did the same some time ago as neither fans seem to work. Replaced both of them, the control module underneath the battery and the switch in the radiator to no avail.. Still haven't figured out what the problem is but at least the car isn't overheating (so far). Guess I'll have to let some professional look at it haha.
What is your power goal for the map? (since you said there is no need for injectors)
Damn thats annoying mate, I hope you can get it sorted soon. It seems like you have pretty much changed everything. I am assuming you have tried the fuses too? Are you any good at testing electrics?
The power goal for the map will be around 230bhp if I can make that I would be very happy. I will be getting my car boost leak tested later today and then will speak to the guys about tuning 👌🏾
@@SPOOLINUP The fuses seem fine (both on top of the battery and inside). Unfortunately my electrics knowledge is very limited. I know the fans work because testing them directly works ok.
230bhp seems like a solid number, no doubt it will do that!
Yes that sounds very odd for sure.

It’s your temp sensor. I believe it’s the one on the top. Happened to me.
The red hose coming from the intake manifold to the brake booster , what typenof hose is that mate
Is it a vaccum hose from autosilicon?
Yes that is just a silicone hose from Auto silicone hoses. It's not reinforced or anything fancy mate.
Wicked mate just getting my final bits for all the deletes so was thinking bout just getting a vaccum hose from them for that part
Yea mate make sure you have everything ready and you are well prepared. Just don't block yhr EVAP like I did, let that vent to atmosphere.
@*SPOOLIN UP* ill make sure I don't bro
