  • Unlock Your Jaw: Acupressure Tips for TMJ Dysfunction
In this video, I'm going to show you two natural acupressure points that can help with TMJ dysfunction, which is short for temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
The first point is called Stomach 6, or the jaw bone. You can find it on the most prominent part of the masseter muscle, about an inch above and forward from the angle of your jaw. To locate it, clench your jaw to feel the muscle, then apply firm pressure on this spot for 1 minute. Do this 3 times and see how it feels after each set. This point helps with many jaw issues like difficulty chewing, lockjaw, tension, and pain. It can also help with problems in the gums and lower teeth.
The second point is called Stomach 7, also known as below the joint. You can find this point at the lower border of the zygomatic arch, in the divot in front of the condyloid process of the mandible. To locate it, open your mouth to feel the condyloid process in front of your ear, then close your mouth, and your finger will fall into the divot. This point is great for treating TMJ issues and can also help with deafness, tinnitus, ear pain, toothache, and gum problems. Apply firm pressure to this point for 1 minute, repeating 3 times, and see how it feels after each set.
Acupressure is very safe, so you can do this a few times a day if needed. But if the area becomes sore or sensitive, take a break until it feels better.
