      Rick, I just found this video. My kids gave my wife and I a hammock for our anniversary and we don’t have suitable trees. Could I have the plans mentioned in the comments? Thanks

    Thank you for sharing the video, very descriptive. I will be making a hammock using your video this summer. What type of bolts did you use; galvanized or steel and what were their sizes? Thanks

    • @rickswoodworking1658

      I used 3/4 in Galvanized screws for the upright supports. The others I used 1/2 screws. Hope that helps.

    Can you do this with 2×2 wood instead of 2×4?

    • @rickswoodworking1658
      @rickswoodworking1658  3 месяца назад

      2x2 would be rather small and would likely flex and bend under the stress so I would not recommend it.

    Hi Rick, I'm also looking for the set of simple plans you have for this hammock stand, mostly just the lengths you used for each piece but anything you have will help me get started in replicating it. I tried to message you directly through your page, but that option isn't available.

      @@rickswoodworking1658 Hi Rick,
      Nice video by the way.
      Is it possible for me to just get your measurements so I can duplicate your project, Just the cuts and sizes, most of your video was well explanatory.

    • @rickswoodworking1658
      @rickswoodworking1658  2 года назад +1

      @@curacao1citizenx lower unit is 8' long, the uprights are 3'6", the other measurements you can work out based on the angle you want to set for the uprights.

    I'd appreciate at least being credited for the year one model of my design and my companies product which you have blatantly copied from start to finish

      After reading your comment I googled your company. You have some beautiful Hammocks.
      I looked for your "year one model," but could not find it.
      It looks like your are using laminates for the construction. Do you use a CNC machine to make the parts?
      I really like the hinge you incorporated in the center for the main span of the frame on your website. That makes for compact storage.

      @hornsey hammocks, your design looks pretty much like the one i made 6 years ago, with some slight changes :-)

      I built one almost identical to this in wood shop in 1992. Awesome video but Hornsey was definitely not the inventor of this design.
