    I saw this telecast live, and it's how I discovered Sergey Khachatryan. I hope many other people will now do the same here. What a stunning, soulful, completely committed performer. I love how he plays. His solo album of Bach is terrific. Thank you for posting this.

    Браво Сергей!Господи как он передает свои эмоции!!!Скрипка говорит в его руках!Мураши пробегают по телу!

    Awesome, his playing is so hot, passionate, sincere... That's what distinguishes young soloist like Sergey from recognized masters, the elder ones - he's not bored yet. In a glow of youth he plays as if he would die right after this performance - so now, all or nothing ... I'm definitely a big fan of him.

    • @aregnav
      @aregnav 10 лет назад

      PLEASE. His faces make me sick, he has a miserable sound- his playing is for rich lonely housewives- playing melodramatic soap operas- ANYTHING he plays with his dumb mimics. Listen to this same concerto played by Heifetz when he was 17. Or to Vengerov.

    • @HenrikKarapetyan
      @HenrikKarapetyan 10 лет назад +2

      Steven Battleheart have you not noticed Vengerov's faces? Sound - miserable is a bit too harsh, his violin is obviously a very bright one and with his vibrato it makes the sound a bit thinner, but not MISERABLE. I think you are down playing the guy a bit, and no need to compare anyone with Heifetz

    • @HenrikKarapetyan
      @HenrikKarapetyan 10 лет назад +4

      Steven Battleheart Heard him play Sibelius in Armenia years ago, and it was one of the best live performances I have heard so far.

      Henrik Karapetyan
      I've heard it too... Very boring, overemotional, and terrible mimics.

    • @MmmAnastasy
      @MmmAnastasy 10 лет назад +11

      Steven Battleheart Dear Steven, I adore Vengerov, I worship Heifetz and recently I've heard Kavakos play this concerto (here in St Petersburg) - they all are splendid!
      But still, I think that among younger artists Sergey is the best. That's my opinion as a violinist, as a musician and, lastly, as a person. Moreover, one week ago I went to Mariinsky theater, there was Brahms double concerto (Khachatryan&Hakhnazaryan) that made me absolutely positive in my point of view.
      Mimics? That's his characteristic feature, which many musicians have (btw, me too).
      I never considered it as a problem or something, I don't care. And believe me, neither does he.
      Best wishes

    His presence and emotional involvement are peerless. He made me cry.

    What a stupendous interpretation! It is as if it is out of this world. He fully understands the nature of this difficult concerto. Lyrical and retrained yet can be fiery at the very dramatic part of this work. Few can achieve this well.

    Saw him live via the internet play Sibelius yesterday with Sokhiev conducting. Very lovely, tender, romantic. Very unusual and as you say very committed - not by technique, but by heart. I think he had his eyes closed for most of the performance. Instantly "fell in love" with his playing, despite never having heared of him before. Hope he gets an invitation by an orchestra near me soon.

    I don't enjoy the Violin tunes
    Because of my tinnitus
    But Sergey's play treated it for a while...
    His wonderful strings
    Takes you to a new place
    Somewhere you have never been...
    With soulful love
    For tunes of the violin...!

    Das Brahms Violinkonzert fand ich immer so mittelprächtig. So wie Khachatryan es interpretiert gefällt es mir plötzlich ganz überragend gut. Es ist fast magisch, intensiv, komplex, machmal sogar modern.

    Sudando la gota gorda... Con este vibrato tan fuerte parece que hasta el vídeo tiembla. Una interpretación absolutamente inesperada...no se parece a ninguna que he escuchado...fuera de la serie. Decidido : ¡me gusta! ¡Si!
    В поте чела своего... От этого вибрато даже видео дрожит. Совершенно неожиданное исполнение....ни на что не похоже. Решено: мне нравится! Да!

    His playing is world class, and the orchestra cannot match his expression or phrasing in any of the tutti sections in the first movement after his solo. This is so sad, but still, wonderful playing by the soloist.

    Wonderful performance, but the video is a mess, and it's way "over-miked". One should not hear every single squeak of the chairs, every single clearing f a throat. That being said, Khachatryan is on par with Szeryng at his peak.

    Some parts of Sergey's playing and the quality of the sound he is drawing are raw in this performance, may be he needs to practice more? I wish he had the emotions on his face passed on to the violin. So far it is passed on to the audience only. Not the best performance I have heard.
