This guy is genious and one of the greatest contemporary violinists in the world. I was lucky to be at two of his concerts in London and it's absolutely stunning what he can do to his violin. It's a divine talent. BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!
Why we love Sergey -- from a 2009 article about him: Whatever may lie ahead, his main concern is conserving the passion that has propelled him this far. "You see many of today's artists go out on stage and you can tell they're there because it's their 'job' - I'm afraid of that word. Every time I go out on stage, I want to be in a special state, to create a special atmosphere."
The cadenza is otherworldly, I don't think I ever heard those lines so pure, so velvety... and everywhere such dynamic range, such ebb and flow! The pace is perplexing. But those articulations and that cadenza... Uf!
Dare I say that conductor Juraj Valcuha was one of the most sensitive conductors of the Beethoven I've heard. His joyous smile was infectious and germane to the utter fun of this music!
Saw him performing this in Vienna a few years ago. He was unbelieveable. The moment he played the first note was pure magic. By far the best performance of Beethoven Violin Concerto I´ve witnessed out of many many famous violinists in heard playing.thanks for uploading!
It appears as if he did not open his eyes ONCE during that Exquisite Performance except just a tiny bit between movements and when he seemed to awaken from the reverie of the music. Such pearly tones... ahhhh...what music!
The two best interpretations of Beethoven ViolinConcerto I've ever heard: the first with the legendary violinist Christian Ferras and Karajan with the Berliner Philharmoniker and now with this phenomenon Sergey Khachatryan. It is unfortunate that the audio are not good for us to appreciate all the nuances of sumptuous sound of that young interpreter that certainly is shaping as one of the greatest violinists of today. Sergey Khachatryan Bravo. Bravissimo !!!
I don't enjoy the tunes of Violin ... Because I have tinnitus But Sergey's play treated my tinnitus...! His wonderful strings Takes you to a new place Somewhere you have never been... With soulful love for the tunes of the Violin...!!! Sylva~MD-Poetry March 8, 2014 Written Instantly
Outstanding, Sergey -- you reach so far into the music with your soul that you extract what we have not heard before. I discovered Sergey this year when he played the Brahms concerto and I was hoping to hear him playing the Beethoven. Thank you for finding this and posting it.
Otra vez, desde este tropico de permanente verano en un amanecer, sintiendo la mejor interpretación que he escuchado de este concierto después de la Ida Hendel hace 45 años. Gracias Sergey.
@cubanbach...if I'm not mistaken the guest conductor of the Orchestre de Paris in this case was Andris Nelsons, not Juraj Valcuha, he is indeed one of the most inspiring and friendly chefs d'orchestre - and obviously trained a.o. by Mariss Jansons.
Immaculate performance, truly a great interpretation, possibly the best
Immaculate and captivating as always. Thank you, Sergey
No violist on earth has such a warm & natural tone, and above all: such a deep musicality.
Brilliant playing by Sergei Khachatryan, great conducting & wonderful orchestra, thank you, I'm uplifted mightily.👏👏🥰

Meraviglioso! Una tale purezza e al tempo stesso una tale pienezza di suono...

I searched this concert in russian (via google) and bingo :) And decided to upload it to youtube. Wanted to make this more attainable for everyone.
que de louanges ! Mais comment pourrait-il en être autrement ! C'est seulement MAGIQUE !
C'est vrai ! Que la providence veille avec bienveillance sur le parcours de ce magnifique artiste !

Fier de mon peuple et pays Arménie
Genius indeed .
This man is far better than Mutter, Hahn and Bell, it is easily seen. Too bad he did not make many recordings.
Thanks for the upload! This guy is my idol. Could you please tell me where did you aquired this video?
I have heard him live few times, believe me, he's incredible!
Though I don't really like this conductor... But anyway, the performance is splendid.
Thanks for the upload ^_^
Günümüzün en iyi kemancısı

cad 25:17 44:49
The conducting is dreadful -the violinist has to make up his mind how to play this work
it is a mish mash ...
