Considering that Xenoblade 2's Expansion Pass icon ended up teasing Torna - the Golden Country, I imagine that Xenoblade 3's DLC will follow a similar rule
Perhaps the story scenario might serve as a genesis point, showing in greater depth how "the worlds of Xenoblades 1 & 2" seemed to converge; possibly from the perspective of an older Shulk and Rex/Pyra (if not, their direct successors) and the mystery man taking about fate whom we speculate Noah may have been cloned from...
Also, is it just me, or do the Consuls kinda feel like an analogy to middle management and how they can potentially screw over businesses they're meant to be intermediate between if they handle their job poorly?
I think your metaphor with the Consuls and middle management is a legitimate one based upon what we know so far, and it is a legitimately good point, but I personally doubt that that's the theme of Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
The first hero is Vandham. We can see in the Class menu that the 7th class going in chronological order is locked, meaning that we haven't done their hero quest yet. Possibly because it just isn't available to us. Vandham probably gives us a combat tutorial in Melnath's Shoulder and we have him in the party for at least a little bit as a Hero. After that, when we start getting closer to Colony Gamma, he probably leaves to go get healed up and will meet up with us again at Swordmarch. Where we will probably be able to do his Hero Quest and unlock his weapon, possibly the Mace and Shield that we see Noah use for the Smash Art.
I can't handle all these theories! Only 28 more days and soon we'll have conclusive answers to some of these awesome theories!
I don't know what I'll do without theorizing every single day once the game's out (cuz it makes me happy when my theory comes true, like the alt. ouroboros forms)
I don't know much about this game but I do know we got a Gigachadpon in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and in Pokémon Violet we literally get a gigachad Professor.

I think that there’s a chance that certain individuals might be given the chance to choose whether to be sent off “honorably” or to continue fighting past their time, given they take on more responsibility in conjunction with having proven themselves as having an aptitude for battle in the past. I only say this because there are a few characters who still have the whole funky eye thing going on that absolutely look older than 20, potentially even passing for 30 or more. This might just be the designs being made to show more maturity to command immediate respect or whatever, but I personally think there might be more going on there. Anime (generally) makes older people look younger than they actually are, not the other way around.
Edit: Just had an extra idea. It’s suggested that Ethel and a few others had some sort of friendly relationship with the members of the main group in the past. Maybe they are hunting them down so relentlessly regardless of this because they need to continue to impress their respective empresses to keep their “privilege” to live.
yeah, pretty much that... Ethel, Isurd, Cammuravi... are admins (think "general"), but so is Zeon, though, so, I don't know
maybe nothing happens when the tattoo turns black, and they're just being manipulated/brainwashed into thinking that they'll die or that they have to be "homecoming'd" in front of their queen... and the "lost numbers" (Vandham & co.) are like deserters from either nation, that somehow managed to live past their tenth term
like, yeah, only very special individuals with the highest aptitude gets to be made into an admin and live past the 10th term and grow older, but most get "flute'd" instead

My theory is the the flame clock represents affinity and every time you fill it that's 1 star
7:13 Yup … that basically sums up the feelings about this game and story. I feel like it may end up being as emotionally overwhelming as Xenosaga 3 was for me.
22:30 It makes complete sense that the Dannagh dessert is in this game. Just because a titan or a piece of a titan from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 fell into the sea of clouds doesn’t mean they ceased to exist. As such any land that was lost in Xenoblade 2, regardless of cause, would in theory be fully accesible after the worlds of 1 and 2 converged.
Edit: Just watched all the scenes that show torna sinking to make sure I wasn’t misremembering and at no point does it fall apart in a way that suggests the Dannagh desert cannot appear in the state that it is shown in the video.
well since we know that both xenoblade chronicles 1&2 were governed by aspects of the Aoidios system/lab with 1 getting alvis, and 2 getting the trinity processor, what if what 3 takes place in is basically the junk folder? Which is why we are getting so many 1 to 1 pulls from both games that physically shouldn't/couldn't be happening and why there are clones there was only so much viable data to run
That's an... interesting thought. But it would be so, so frustrating if true.
(spoiler warning I guess, if my theories somehow come true)
the keves ouroboroses have single core, the agnus ouroboroses have two, so, that one mobius having one core doesn't really mean it's made of only a one person (I think it always takes two to "fuse" into ouroboros/mobius)
the special secret mission was to investigate some odd energy signature coming out from a strange device - Guernica Vandham's interlink "bomb" most likely (but they were set up by the consuls, totally... IT'S A TRAP!)
I guess he's Ethel's right hand man, Ethel is an admin of colony 4 (the big-wheeled ferronis), maybe he's a hero, even
that's most likely Nia's castle (Agnus main base of operation) in Erythia sea (maybe it moves around, too), if it works like the other colonies with the ferronises, who knows... but it's her "alcamoth" (and alcamoth is where the pods are located, I mean Keves pods... In the older trailer, you can see Melia stand in front of that "holo display", it's the same place... We've not yet seen Agnus pods, weird, right?)
the "attention" ZR prompt focuses the camera on the battle, is all (but there is stone throwing, too, it's just not this)
not Uraya, but a Tantal + Valak mountain "fusion" area (the Uraya location is called urayan tunnels and it's mostly inside, like a cave, but you can see sky, too, because Uraya is split open in half) [notice how all these are thematically fused, bionis leg with gormoth, for example... only non-fusion location is the desert, since there was no in 1, but there was in 2/torna - and it has its OG non-fusion name because of it... Dannagh desert it's called, 21:45 in this video, BUT the sub-location Dougis Quicksands wasn't in torna, though - it's brand new... aaand you mention it later, nvm]
Great Sword's base (or swordsmarch) is this game's prison island
yep, the colonies must be liberated, first, somehow (how? who knows! Probably what Noah does when he cuts the flame clock with his thin sword)
miss "mouse ears" I think was one of these girls in Fiona's group, but I think she's just a gormotti, though (there was a Fiona video on twitter)
think you develop the colonies, like you do the locations in 1 (I've not seen that picture, it's on the webpage you say? have to check it out... not only there's the flame clock, but stars as well)
the "cool" thing is one tier below the "BRAVO", it's been shown in the latest twitter video (about chain attacks)
the fans weapon is a mystery (nimue is a nice fit, but she's dead, though... it's also similar to Isurd's, but his is more like tonfa or baton or whatever)

you can see Ashera for a split second in the pre-direct "trailer", see if you can find her (I mean: they show her BEFORE her reveal in the direct itself, later)... seems like she's the one calling down these "mechon" to attack the party (since she stands against them, not on their side, like does Isurd in the next scene... seems that's the common theme with these heroes: they attack the party and battle, then become friends - also special missions for them, too)
censored I think is Vandham, could be Ethel, too... or somebody else entirely, your guess is as goos as mine
28:13 colony Delta (Cammuravi's bot AND the big one behind him - seems like the "battle bot/zord" gets separated/jettisoned from the rest of the colony), we know gamma (Mio, Sena, and Taion's OG home base, no known admin, though), we know Isurd's colony is Lambda (the one in the waterfall), and I think the one from the Aionios trailer, under the mechonis' finger, is Iota (by method of elimination)... seems they even have different icons/logos (as on the flame clock hud element)... and in the off-seer twitter video, there was "+200" after you off-see the dead soldiers, with an icon I think was Iota's, as on the affinity chart... We've also seen Iota (or a same model, maybe?) in "battle mode" (in the video with the soldiers running at each other... fighting colony 9 - Noah, Lanz, and Eunie's OG home, and Zeon is the admin of it)... Funny how there are so far only 2 Keves colonies known: 4 and 9, but four Agnus colonies: Gamma, Delta, Lambda, and Iota... and there was a blurb with Eunie talking about the lucky clovers and mentioning colony 30! that's crazy, but I don't think there's this many, ingame, though there was a tidbit about each nation having a dozen of these, could just be lore/worldbuilding thing). The colonies are so awesome! They're like mega/zords, transformers, and Mortal Engines rolled into one (and the ouroboros are also very much like the japanese tokusatsu shows - kamen rider and such, especially Noah's ouroboros... and the music in that section of the direct... so cool! Fits the toku. theme so much, don't tell me they didn't inspired themselves with it... oh, and digimon, I guess - all the things I like, actually ^^)
yeah, the cammuravi silhouette is unfortunate... (my guess is the one between Alexandria and Fiona is that gauntlets girl... and the "big boi" is actually the cute machina girl piloting a mechon suit) [oh! I didn't notice the color is different behind even the locked silhouettes... that's how others were able to tell that it's red-attacker/blue-defender/green-healer... How did I miss that?!]... the rest of the silhouettes behind the menu tab, I can't really see those >.> (but one has a big head, lol... I know, all chibis have big heads in general)

Burst drops a bunch of items and Smash just does a ton of damage in this game if the one example of each that we got in the direct is anything to go by
something important about the word ferronis is that the Latin word ferrum doesn't just mean iron, it was a very often (like, in every single poem or play or literary thing ever) used metaphor for swords. Basically what texts would say was for example "he was slain by the iron", meaning they died in war. And since another word for sword is blade, it might actually be more important than we think. Maybe the ferronis is the "strange blade" of this game?
also, anyone notice how much the "People farm" resembles the womb of torna? im sure that is no coincidence.

Something that stood out to me was how the Keves vehicle seems to go down along with the soldiers when the mobius absorbs their life force. I wonder if there is a person inside controlling it or if something else is going on.
yeah, they're connected to a specific colony (or no colony at all as the Noah's group, somehow, maybe...?), that's why the mobius "suck" didn't affect the party (or they're protected because of the interlink/ouroboros thing), but it kills that colony's soldiers... Keves vehicles are being piloted, yes! Agnus vehicles are autonomous (move on their own without a pilot), keves vehicles are like tanks and such, Agnus are like drones

In the first trailer Noah says, "tell me, what would possess you to side with them?" I think he is talking to the either the big owl looking member of the Counsel who (as mentioned in the video) might be the kid that gets crushed by debris in the direct, or other Noah. I also think that when Lanz said "I refused to believe you're him", he was also talking to the same person as Noah
Do you think that one of main characters in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will get slap. Like Shulk in Xenoblade 1 and Rex Twice in Xenoblade 2.
My theory is that the ten year lifespan is a fabrication created by the consuls I can see a scene where Mio's final day has arrived which gets the whole party anxious but when they expect her to disappear she doesn't showing that everything that they've known is a lie.
One thing that struck me, mostly because it makes me a bit happy, is that the Nopon seem to have lost their "Nopon accent", or very broken English.
It's been proven in a side quest for XC2 that long ago, they adopted this to sound cute, and that will profit them since Nopon mostly care about is money and therefore could talk normally.
Even though Riku speaks like a few words, they could have noponized it soo much still.
that only applies for the xenoblade 2 nopons... and manana's is still broken, though ("Manana help with fighting!") ^^ but damn did Riku's puberty hit him hard

dont know if you seen lately the jp xenoblade twitter account, they can enter colonies without anyone attacking the party because first they can free them, but I dont know how that works

You keep saying "Consul" like it's the name of an organization like Torna ("member of Consul"), but IRL consul is a diplomatic position so I think it would be pluralized (as in: D is a Consul. D and P are Consuls. The Consuls are scheming. Etc.) Also, being an antagonistic group of people wearing full armor named after a governmental position, the Consuls really remind me of the Judges from FF 12.
Also, my theory about Chain Attacks and Ouroboros Chain Orders is that there are ways to extend a Chain Attack (like Chain Links in 1 and Orbs in 2) so that after completing an Order you can give another one. In that situation the "COOL"s would signify that Mio's and Noah's Orders were completed and that's probably what caused the Ouroboros Chain Order to come up.
