Fantastic again !! Damit now I want to go through my Go Pro stuff and do a Top Water video from up there but too many "Secret" spots !! ;) Lol Did top water all weekend up North a few big blow up's and a lot of Large Mouths caught on them though ! Hopefully that border opens !
@@Wxyver_n there is a good channel where cameras are attached to the line and the lures under water can be observed and the pike take or ignore the lures. they way they look is definitely creepy. lol. those eyes just look at the lure.
question. Why does everybody pull the muskie in the net really fast after they hook them? Why does nobody fight the fish? Do they fall off easily or is it just force of habit and strong equipment
Jure Gombač it takes many hours, days, weeks and sometimes even years to catch one! The longer they are fighting the better change they have to get away.
The last thing I want is to catch fish right next to the boat with 2' of line out [unless I'm in a tournament where weight is all that matters]. Having a fish hit at the furthest point of the cast is perfect so as to feel the fish through the line, having it take line out, seeing the pole bend, etc. It'd be like deer hunting where you step out of your truck and there's a deer 8' away; you shoot and "tada" you're all set vs getting into your blind, seeing a deer at a distance, allowing it to get close enough to take the shot. Anyway, jmo; great looking fish though.
Shooting a deer next to the truck would be catching one off the dock. Catching a musky in the 8 is like shooting a deer inside 10 yards. You get to see everything happen right infront of you. It way more exciting and challenging to catch one boat side. You have to make all the right moves in a split second and then if it works out you get to see it happen right In front of you. That’s my input on it.
lmao, 4:48 how to know when you've been fishing too much, your sunglasses have etched outlines of tan into your face permanently. That's a serious level of "I don't give a fuck". I bet his wife loves taking the racoon fisherman to her little social events.

What do prices on guided trips vary from?
Nico Losinski 400-900 for the 2020 season full details on my website Dougwegnerfishing.com
Doug Wegner Fishing awesome man will do
What's makes you decide to figure8 on top or underwater with the lakex?
Kevin Wimmer how the fish is reacting to it. If it’s hot keep it on top is slow take it down low!
I wonder if pike let their prey go sometimes after being released themselves? Or is that just not possible?
I had a few pike let go, maybe they unhooked themselves but it's a complete mystery what happens under water

You wanna make 'the fight' short as possible for the sake of the fish's health.
While these are aggressive fish that do fight , they are rather fragile, don’t want to over play them
Awesome stuff
Greg Careins thanks for watching!
I need to book a trip with you one day seems like you always have good quality fish
I know I could find it on your site but what would it cost for Lake of the Woods for two days two people
I looked it up at your site I'll have to contact you about it one day
Wow ,, Big musky, in Holland I can catch only pikes, catch a musky its my dream
Hey guys what was that file for ??
sharping hooks!
light color cool water ; science
Sort of surprised that any pike or muskie fisherman would have so many lures laying around in the boat.
You gotta start putting a polarized lens on your gopro if you are going to show a bunch of follow footage. All we see is a bunch of glare without one.
Mike Patterson I have them on all my cameras still isn’t as good as a human eye.
@@dougwegnerfishing have your tried the polarized camera lens though? It makes a big difference. They are super cheap on amazon. Give it a shot.
Awesome

The word pelagic has nothing to do with fresh water fish😂 But nice trying to sound super intelligent for the camera.
You are INCORRECT. The word pelagic can refer to Ocean, River or LAKE. Do some research… it might keep you from embarrassing yourself next time.
