As this clip proves, Mission was laying the foundation for Alternative and beyond before punk rock had run its course.

It's amazing to think that this was the first song Clint Conley ever wrote. So very good.

Wish I had discovered this band, and this song, many years ago. F'ing brilliant. Paraphrasing previous from Kyle x, this song is pure punk, in the truest sense. Love it.

damn Tinnitus made Roger Miller stop MoB. If they would've still been around in the Grunge-era they would've hit really big

@askl23 A lot of the best post punk was from the late 70s and early 80s. Just start with Gang of Four, Wire, Joy Division, Minutemen, The Sound and look at people they played with and you'll find a ton of bands.

@Alienpelvis86 They were sort of the odd band out in that book, almost all of the rest discussed were mid to late-'80s, but Mission of Burma goes back to the late '70s. From what I remember, their whole chapter just harps on about what a shame it was that Mission of Burma started and ended so early in the burgeoning post-punk scene.

Roger Miller looks like he was 15 in this. Yet I think he might have been literally twice that age as he recorded Spronton Layer almost 10 years before this.
