I was at this show too... it was the band's last show ever (or so we thought) and the freaking stage-divers were crowding them off the stage, mostly people who never ever came to their shows normally.

@sickXmachine : You're probably right. As Terry Gilliam said, "that's the great thing about aging, your memory goes." ;-)

I can't belive I never thought of looking for clips of Mission of Burma in youtube. Now I can close fugazi's circle of influences. This and a few other videos somehow made it very clear that Fugazi was listening to them and maybe even going to their shows. But what interests me more is to know if this guys where listening to This Heat or Etro Fou Leloublan. Does anyone know where I can found out? I mean, any good interviews, books (aside for the ones mentioned in other posts), or articles about them.

There is a great chapter about Mission of Burma in the book Our Band Could Be Your Life by Michael Azerrad that goes into depth about them. There are also excellent Minor Threat and Fugazi chapters in the same book. I can't remember if those bands you mention are cited as influences but there is a lot of fascinating stuff in there.

they were definitely into This Heat, Pere Ubu, Gang of 4, the Stooges, Sun Ra....dunno about Etro, but probably. Roger Miller's solo work and with Birdsongs of the Mesozoic certainly reflect an interest in European avant-rock/avant-classical music

amazing, amazing band. is it possible i love every one of their songs? yes, it is. BTW, the cookie-cutter punks in the audience look so ridiculous prancing about the stage. wrong band, boys...i think you meant to go see Gang Green.

@capricorn1968 Not sure what you mean about the "politics" of Lyme disease?
To my knowledge, it's a disease carried by ticks. Please explain, and what did "Chronicle" do that was "ballsy?"

Man I find stage diving fecking annoying. Especially during a set by a band like Burma. Full disclosure I’m the guy at the show with his arms crossed nodding his head while intently watching what they are doing, AKA an admiring musician.
