A huge thanks, i was going crazy since the issue (no spark on both plugs at engine start) was intermittent and random, a lot of wd40 into the ignition switch fixed the problem, 100 ohm constantly now :)
@@Mad8vCycles I did it, removed the two screws on the top, barrel and spring then cleaned with wd40, the bottom can't be open without drilling it i guess
@@Mad8vCycles yes, i removed the Key switch from the top triple clamp unscrewing those screws...i mean the two screws at the bottom of the switch to acces the electric contacts can't be removed
@@Mad8vCycles i know where to get the key eliminator or i think i have the right resistor (used 100 ohms for the tail/brake light, 5 watt, BIG) but that gives me the tail light problem. might have to spend a couple more days twisted on caffeine screaming at the bike to solve that. remember my controls arent even for a suzuki and didn't even have the same wire count. i honestly dont know what they are for they just had the right functions but not always on the suzuki side. keyless was the plan until the tail light thing and the 100ohms thing. if you know what i need to do message me on facebook because i need to make some minor repairs to help me sell this bitch and start packing up (got an offer on the house moving again)
It very possible my sv650 is having this issue , it’s mKing it to where I have no spark waiting on a new ignition now , where does the resistor go ? Color wires ?
on either of the wires in the video. if you have a chinese aftermarket ignition, a lot of times their pins are in the wrong places. so something else to check
Would this cause no spark in both cylinders but the bike to turn over? Bought a crashed bike and I have power at the coil and the bike turns over but no spark
@@Mad8vCycles red switch is confirmed good and wouldnt the kickstand switch and tipover sensor cause no crank? because i have crank just no spark or fuel
@@Mad8vCycles my first suspicion was my ignition barrel, so i tested the 100 ohm method and got no read, so i have that on order. I am also suspicious of the fuel pump relay as it doesnt click, but im having trouble finding a new replacement.

This helped me fix my no spark condition, much appreciated.

You can also take the barrel apart and clean it well. Or use graphite lube.

Thanks for the positive mention! Those Chinese ignition switches are the worst. OEM is the way to go! 😎
I have an unused Chinese lock set lying around. Will check it out. Glad I never installed it.
most work though.
a $1 resistor is always an acceptable fix just make sure it's rated for the right wattage
or just keyless the bike and run the whole thing off the right pod

What wires are they on 2001 gsxr 600 , having the same problem ?
Unfortunately ive never owned one so not sure

Lol Saved me a CDI ;)
Would this cause no spark in both cylinders but the bike to turn over? Bought a crashed bike and I have power at the coil and the bike turns over but no spark
it could. or no spark could be the pickup coil off the flywheel. or the cdi box
Does c42 also cause no fuel? I have no spark and my fuel pump is not priming nor is the relay clicking on
it's been a minute but i dont think so? no pump would be red switch, kickstand switch, tipover, etc?

To get c42, the stock ignition is bad on sv1000?
most likely yes. check the resistance on it?
could also be green connector of death.
If harness without 100ohms is used can it damage bike? Put in China ign switch now have no spark at plugs put back genuine ign switch and harness still no spark. Any help appreciated. 🤷♂️
id be surprised honestly. anything that would be bad would have a fuse protecting it
Have joined SVrider and posted SV650 no spark by doc1967 hope you can help.
I saw (im a mod there)
can you fix the resistance?
i guess you could crack the ignition open and replace the internal resistor somehow. or put a resistor inline on either wire
when i say either wire, i mean im not sure which one
