Good stuff Kev. My 650's FI light was on. I followed your guide and found no faults but the TPS required a slight adjustment. A very simple fix using your video.
I'm thinking so yeah, not a total nut and bolt resto like I have planned for the ZX9R but it deserves to have all the mechanicals sorted and then a nice lick of paint. 👍
Is it lumpy at idle? If so then it could be a synchronisation of the throttle bodies that is needed perhaps. I’ll do a video on this process as soon as I can! 👍🏻😎
No it idles fine keV it's just when you give it a bit of throttle it wil start running ruff up the revs like a fuel Starvation our something I have 2 new plugs init and no better so IL have to try that dealer mode.thanks for getting back to me.
Cool man, as I mention in the video, have a look at the little dash next the the C00 as this should be in the centre. I have another video on how to adjust if necessary.
Hi Sir. Many thanks for your guide. Have you never did the same on a Cagiva raptor? Same engine similar instrument. Maybe same connector?I think the electric wiring should be the same. Can I send you a picture Maine you could find out the right 2 pins? Thanks in advance
Suzuki sv650s 2008. downloaded from ali... I connected everything as a video, all connections as a video. but correctly shows only N -0 when connecting all other rails, the indicator always shows the number 5. maybe try swapping contacts? Thanks for the help
Tried the paper clip multiple times, in the correct holes as described but it won’t switch to dealer mode to show fault codes. Any suggestions? Won’t start and no fuel pump noise on key turn.
My first check would be the green connector under the airbox just behind the headstock, these like to corrode and cause all manner of electrical issues, much like those that you describe.
Hello Kev from Sydney. i have an 07 SV650 has been reliable for 70k klm will not start fuel pump is priming dash lights up side stand switch and clutch lever switch works. Pulled both plugs with ign leads on and plugs earthed out there is no spark when cranking. Also plugs had fuel on them so Fuel inj is working just no spark. Any help appreciated.
Hey Dane, the one with the little black rubber blanks is the wrong connector mate, the one you are looking for will look identical to the one in the video but could possibly be tucked out of the way and you just haven't spotted it bud! 👍
It can only be one of three things then really mate, either you have found the wrong plug, you aren't making good contact inside the plug with the terminals or you have a gen one carbed 650! 😃
@@KevsShed Thanks for the reply. I'm going with poor connection. The fuel pump isn't priming when I turn on ignition, any thoughts on what may be causing that?
@@willramsay6979 The side stand relay and fuel pump relay are on the same circuit mate, if there is a problem with either of these then the pump won't prime. I would look there first. Additionally, if there is an issue with the tip-over sensor then the ECU receives a signal to turn off power to the fuel pump relay. This should give you plenty of good places to look bud. Good luck!
MANNNNN, I'm laughing so damn hard now, so my SV1000s has the -c00 thing showing and I thought my gauge or sensor was messed up, someone put a switch to the plastic connection and i fiddled with it, I thought it could be possibly be related to the dynojet power commander installed lololol
Haha, I get ya! Having a switch fitted makes it easy to flick the dealer mode on and off though! This is in fact the very thing that the official Suzuki tool does! Glad you found your bike to be fine though!
Hi mate, it can be found in Chapter 4-35 of the Factory Service Manual. If you don't have a copy then you can get one here for only a few quid which is a highly worthwhile investment! rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2FWorkshop-Manual-Suzuki-Sv-1000-Manual-Workshop-DVD-Repair-Service-English%2F202246190800%3Fhash%3Ditem2f16cff6d0%3Ag%3AwL8AAOSw7OdcEaFm&campid=5338707657&toolid=10001&customid=
Any ideas for if the bike will not even go in to dealer mode? Tried with paper clip and wire, chec light on dash flick the kill switch and it just stays the same
@@KevsShed definitely the correct connector, bike will turn over no problem but no spark and no fuel pump prime wouldn't have though it would cause it to not enter dealer mode though? , its a wierd one nobody seems to have had experience with an sv that won't register dealer mode at all!
@@KevsShed haha, it's a 2004 sv1000, it's only got 7k miles on the clock but was layed up for 12 years, new fuel pump, new ecu, all safety switches bypassed, relays etc all good, ignition good along with green connector, chec message on permanently so the bike is registering some sort of safety cut off but who knows where from!! Lol
Have you checked the killswitch? It should have check on the dash when the switch is off but should change to the code when flicked on. Could explain why there’s no priming of the fuel pump too!
Oh yeah Kev that plastic piece is a pain in the ass 100%. I just drilled out the screw I don't have time for that bullshit I'll just put a new one in after.
Looking forward to the paint resto on the SV and seeing what you do with the 9R
The 9R series will be starting in the new year. I’m liking the look of the Rizla Suzuki paint job that dream machines have done in the past 👌🏻
Hi Kev first time in 12 years that i have put my bike into dealer mode thanks to your vid.No faults!

Awesome! 👍🤓
Simple guide and very helpful Kev :)

Great video. This helps out a lot. Mine recently had a check on. I have a feeling of what it is but it's nice to know exactly what the problem is.
Glad it helped 🤓👍
Just got a sv650s..it needs a good service so those codes will come in very useful 👍
Thanks Kev, just what I was looking for! Now I’m off to diagnose this loss of power/cutting out when giving it any amount of throttle.
did you figure this out? think i’m having a similar issue
Thank you very much!!! your videos are awesome!! I greatly appreciate them!
Good information. Thanks.
Accurate. brief and concise. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, really helped me out
I just bought a sv650, thanks for this.
Great video and just what I need. Being totally new to the SV650 and bikes in general, how do you get the seat off? 😞
Can’t wait for the tps video
Excellent video! Thanks!!

Hi
Do you know how to change the displayed engine temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius?
Thanks
I know that the SV can be switched between MPH and KM but I don't think that the facility exists to change between Celsius and Fahrenheit I am afraid!

Hi
Might be fuel pump fuse
Replace it with a new 10A

I would initially suspect coils buddy 👍🏻
I only seem to have four pins in my connection block, nothing missing as the empty ones are blanked off with rubber grommets ??any ideas

I've got to be honest buddy, that is a new one on me. I have never seen that before! Sorry!
Just under the back sit i found a switch the other day , couldnt figure it out what it does . Have you ever noticed it ? any ideas what it could be ?
Is it connected to the socket I describe in the video? If so then a previous owner may have added a switch so that you don't need a paperclip!
Does this apply to the Gladius? Thanks.
