They could probably put a lot of the kit from a V-Strom 1050 in a SV650 frame tbh and give it a suspension upgrade (GSXS1000 type spec?), I think that would get you most of the way there. I'm really surprised they haven't done a cruiser with the 650 or 1000cc V-twin either, it'd be a huge seller with relatively little engineering cost.
I have loved watching the SV videos, really informative. I am interested to see if having all of this in one video ( 2 parts)increases views. I like that you can watch it at speed then reference the full videos. Your video on the gear box is still one of my favourite videos of yours. Thank for the videos they really help, pointing out errors in other videos has really helped in my critical thinking of content.
This is somewhat a well timed upload, about 2 weeks ago my sv1k seems to have dipped oil pressure and shit the bed on the freeway Opened the clutch cover last night and found a pile of shattered dreams and or bearing debris in the filter screen
Good job Del wasn’t doing it, he’d need to spray the inside of the cases with some ultra high temperature linen wax. But I digress, my mate is currently restoring an SV 650 1999, got to say he has had a few problems. Which has required new carburettors (because some pilchard restored the old ones ) another set of associated issues. Also the regulator let out the massive magic smoke caused by all those electrical pixies fighting with each other. It’s quite nice to work with some basic kit, because with the modern stuff you’ve got no chance.
This video was somewhat hypnotising. I liked it alot🙂 good move with the music. I'm so amazed by the complexity and machineing of the engine. Beautiful, is it not?
Also are you going to talk about the gears and what happened? Really interested in a lot of this dismantle video. I know it would probably end up being 3 hour vid but I'm sure a lot of us would watch it.
Nice to see the resto. vids up again. The del shite was boring me to the point of Not watching them. Let's see this done and on a track day. But l should talk... Can't even get myself out to the barn to Look at my projects. Cheers. Sighned ; Grumpy old Punkrocker. Tucson USA.
Some serious work gone in to that video Matt, hate to think the amount of time that adds up to in real time, But if a jobs worth doing, it's worth doing right. Excellent reference video! Bring on part 2!
I had one of these back in the day, fitted N2O to it theoretical +50bhp with no problems. The pistons are forged and the clutch has Hayabusa part numbers. Just ran one grade colder plugs. Was like pressing the hyper space button on an old arcade game.
Oooh I might be selling my sv1000. I think I need a smaller bike I can twist the throttle harder on, give me a false sense of hero, unlike this bike which makes me realistically feel like a coward that I truely am.
With low powered stuff it's easier to stick engines together. But when you get into the 100HP+ region its not so easy to stick stuff together. An twin 650 sv would be less of a beast than a vfr1200 already exists and makes more power than 2 sv's
Most of this video was already covered in real time from months ago. The problem with doing videos is that very often the editing and other fooling around takes far more time than the actual repair. Also feel free to thumbs down, it is all considered interaction which boosts the video in the YT algorithm.
Ffs mat you do know you do know that you can just spray degreaser and wipe it off on a bench! Waisted water and time with the pressure washer. Amateur's 🤣
I’m not sure how to take this one… Is this 20 mins of Del-bashing, or are you just putting it up as a recap?!? (or a combination?!?) Most of us watch your vids for your commentary, so while it’s nice to have a catch up of everything you’ve done (maybe even a bit cathartic for you), this one wasn’t for me
Thanks for not playing the tedious heavy metal on account of it being a bike video.
I keep saying Suzuki needs to make this bike again in a modern form , well done .

Well since all their current bikes are all old they could probably just start selling it again and no one would notice

Now that’s the way to do it. Nice job mate but dell could do it in 8hours matt
Excellent Matt! Loved the music, very cinematic 👍👌
what set of micrometers do you recommend for a budget set that isnt too cheap to actually be trusted? thanks in advance.
The question is; did the gearbox last long enough to find out if the new clutch solved the chuddering or not?
This is somewhat a well timed upload, about 2 weeks ago my sv1k seems to have dipped oil pressure and shit the bed on the freeway
Opened the clutch cover last night and found a pile of shattered dreams and or bearing debris in the filter screen
But will it start first time like dellbollocks’s hairy balls 1200 cafe track slaying dreambike monster?
Eat your heart out Del we know you are watching
excellent - been waiting for this/these videos. cheers.
If I become a patron would you consider doing a compilation of all the Del clips you have?
Lol I don't have that many really
@@dirtygarageguy I reckon it would be a 10 minute video
top effort recording all this! thanks Matt!

Brilliant
I notice you sped it up and put music over it so no one can hear you banging your parts on the bench 😉
All in one video 👍👍

Thanks mate. Really enjoyed this.
Hypnotic disassembly
The sombre music and Jesus as the leading hand is a bit of a revelation (relevation?) Makes for a change and I'm enjoying it,
Awesome sound track
is this the same engine that was in the TL?
pretty much yes
I have a 2003 that I'm in need of advice with, if you could help with some questions that would be appreciated
next video del might one up you by skinning his garage in carbon
Nice one hope Matt uploads full version 🇬🇧🇺🇦

Why the engine don't have any drop of oil? Very strange. Or dirt?
What?
Many of your hand gestures are very Chaplinesque, but you knew that already, didn't you? With your soft plastic edges.
Nice! How many hours work have you condensed into 22mins?
No idea
Yes, 8 hours
Like your videos, would have liked a voice over.

How am I supposed to get my ASMR without the clanking noises???
I'm more accustomed to watching Del Boy so I've had to watch this at 2x as it was too slow
disappointed to see that you used a yellow paint marker for a cost of a couple of quid when you could have used Penny's lipstick... 🤣😂
Dels a dogs lipstick 😄
Just for fun I sometimes yell "Oh man What are you doing!" at the screen :) .
Next time can you please play Bob the Builder in your video
Are you going to race in the Twins class?
Lol I don't have the time, I if I did I'd get an aprillia not this
Nice vid........ Credit the music? (reminds me of Jessica Curry)
Think it's "Jesse Gallagher ~ Maestro Tlakaelel"
@@borntwisted Yep that's it, saved me from wondering too long ~ thanks for that mate 👍
Did you loose the sound?
😆😆 When you said Stupid Quick, i thought you meant the engine. 😆😆

Music is a bit gloomy! So has anyone(millyard'esk) thought about an SV650 twin?? Sv 1300. Frickin beast!Just sayin'

Yeah all agreed frickin humbug 😑. Would still be an, interesting project.
Wow. This is just like one of Dels ASMR videos, only real real fast! I might even give it a thumbs down.

This is a montage, every video regarding what's being done was in the stages of this build with running commentary on each 👍
Why do you always cheat by having Jesus watch over you?
You always complain on Del that his videos are not educational nor informative. This one is same.
"This one" is a short version of a 35 part series that goes on for over 30 hours...
Or read the description. That's what it's for...
First?
Aye, if it makes ye happy cocknose!🤣
Can you rebuild my Tl1000 for me please? You would make a far better job than me an make a video at the same time ❤v❤
