- Here’s my 2 Year Natural Hair Growth / Length Check Update Video. I did the big chop back in April 2017, having transitioned to natural hair for 18 months and so I’ve been documenting my natural hair journey for 2 years, through pictures and sharing my hair updates every 3-6 months.
My last hair update was back in October 2018, so in this video, I’ll be showing you my entire progress pictures from April 2017 to April 2019.
Hope you enjoy the video 🤗

So happy to see you flourishing. Beautiful hair on a beautiful head. Keep inspiring our 4C tribe that our hair can grow.
Thanks so much, I will do 💕💕
love the video and the hair, ,but I do wish u cld be upfront about your hair being actually a little over 3.5 years in total growth, especially in the video title as this can be misleading for some viewers. otherwise love ur content
I found your videos by researching natural hairstyles for my wife. I most say i love the channel and your many beautiful hairstyles. Keep up the great work inspiring our black women to be proud of what god gave them and not the European standard of beauty with fake hair. Have a great day my sister!
Great progress! I totally agree that consistency is key when trying to grow your hair healthy and strong.
Thank you! I’m glad you agree 💛
Just came across your videos... I love them... Straight to the point, we transitioned the same year, type 4b/ 4c. New subie
Ahh...glad you enjoy them and thanks for subbing! 🤗
Hey guys, as promised here’s my 2 year Natural Hair Growth / Length Check update video. Can’t believe it’s been 2 years already. Anyway, hope you enjoy the video 💛
Time has went by so fast! I remember when you began your transitioning on up to your big chop😍😍. Your hair is flourishing very beautifully. Thank you for your update.
Yeah I know, seriously feels like it was yesterday 😁 But thanks so much ❤️
😍😍😍😍Beautiful journey! I love your channel😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much 💕💕💕
Your hair is so beautiful!
Thanks so much 🤗
That blow out just screams GROWTH
☺️🤗💛
I’m so happy that I’ve been here for most of your journey...it’s so encouraging to look back at previous photos to see just how much your hair has flourished! Adding tips about the consistency of your ‘methods’ and preferred products will be very helpful for any newly natural ladies to possibly dissuade them from being a product junkie😀 Wishing you continued success❤️🌹
Thank you Karen 💛 Yes most definitely. I’ve created lots of useful content on my channel about those topics and have referred to them in my video ‘as links’ and in the description box too. So I’m hoping many newbies and others will watch it 🤗
Healthy Afro Hair 😃 You’re welcome
Your hair has grown so much . 😍😍
Yes, looking back I’ve made quite a lot of progress. 🤗❤️
Remember when you big chopped this is GROWTH
Yes...feels like yesterday 😊
Notification Gang. 🙋🏾♀️💜 Love it and my how time flies. 💃🏾❤👍🏾
Thank you 💕 Yes, it truly has 🤗
Loving the update, your hair looks amazing 💛
Thanks so much 💕
I also a 4C natural hair. I transitioned from heat damaged and finished cutting the straight ends off in oct of 2018. I have kept my hair out and have done natural hair styles with no heat. I wash my hair and deep condition my hair moisturize all of the above and for some reason every time I finally see a little bit of growth I have to trim it's because of the single strand knots. I don't feel I have seen any growth in the last six months due to the trims. I'm really hoping that by October 2019 which will be 2 years I can finally get away from collarbone/shoulder length I feel like I'm doing everything right. Besides the length of my hair its very healthy and I absolutely love it it just would be nice to start seeing some length with all the hard work I'm putting in. You are definitely my inspiration and congratulations on your two year mark your hair is gorgeous 😍
It sounds like you’re doing all the right things, so just keep at it. Obviously, trims take away from the length, but as long as your hair is healthy, it will continue to thrive and eventually you’ll begin to see the results. But thanks so much! It’s lovely to hear that you’re finding inspiration through my hair journey 💛
@@HealthyAfroHair thank you so much 😍😍😍
Glad to see you back! We need more vids sis 😅
Heyyy 👋🏾 Yeah I know. The weeks fly by so fast and before I know it, I realise I haven’t done a video in a while.
I want to see a “big chop” of someone who did and dark ceasar cut or something and has a 2 year update from then.
Oct 2019 will be my 2 years 😁
Yayyy 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Me too!! 💃🏿October 6
Thanks for sharing !! Great length retention! ❤❤
Thank you and you’re welcome 💕
It’s almost April 2020, waiting on updates ❤️❤️
Thanks for the update... For someone like me who's in the early days (chopped off my relaxed hair in March 2019), very inspiring to see your progress.
I would've also liked to hear your current thoughts on the journey so far though. Still loving your natural hair? Have the pros/cons changed for you two years on? Would you ever consider relaxing your hair again? Would the advice you'd give newbies like me starting a natural hair journey stay the same? Etc.
That’s great to hear! The journey is still going great and I’m enjoying my hair. The only thing I find frustrating is dealing with knots & tangles, but I’m always looking for new ways to make things easier. No, I have no plans to relax my hair anytime soon and my advice to newbies would always be to keep researching and learning about your hair through experimenting & testing different methods. Also, keep experimenting with hair products, till you find what works too.
Really informative, congrats!
Thank you, glad you liked it! 💕
I started watching your videos when you relaxed your hair, and I still watch them. Your hair has really flourished during the past two years, so congrats on a successful “natural hair” journey. I remember you mentioned trying to find a moisturizer called “World of Curls.” Did you ever find it? 😃
Hey, thanks so much and for supporting my channel over the years 🤗 Yes, I found it and was using it for a while, but stopped. Funnily enough, I was just thinking about going back to it yesterday. It’s still a great product 😁🙌🏾
Healthy Afro Hair Scurl is really good. What are the reasons you prefer World of Curls over Scurl?
I actually tried it once, when I couldn’t get hold of the World of Curls spray and found it to be slightly greasy on my hair.
Healthy Afro Hair This is true. I also find my hair greasy, but I put up with it because I like the moisture. I’d like to give it a try. Do you buy it locally or order it? I saw it in a privately owned beauty supply shop once, but it’s a hike from where I live. Thanks.
Yeah, definitely try it. I think you might like it better. There are 2 though; one with blue packaging (which I like) and the other in silver for ‘extra dry hair’. I used to buy it locally, but you can get it online too. If you do try it, let me know what you think.
Hey I know this is a bit off topic but could you possibly share your skin care routine? Also, if it isn't too much to ask, maybe could you tell us if you think your diet helps or if its mostly good genes as well?
Hey, I did a skin care routine on my channel some years ago, you can view it here; ruclips.net/video/08WZ6q4ovWI/видео.html I only use the Tea Tree face wash now. Genes is definitely the main contributing factor in terms of our hair growth rate, but our diet and how we take care of our hair is just as important too.
Finally found my hair twin❤😍😍😍
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Hi,Im from Brazil.I love your vídeos.
Hey Joyce from Brazil, thanks so much 💛
Hey love I've been following your journey since 2016 and now transitioning as well but I just wanted to ask how you style your hair throughout the week without combining it but still moisturising it twice a day
Hey, thanks for following my journey. I hope it’s been useful 🤗 My main hairstyle is a high puff, so it’s easy to moisturise my hair. But when moisturising, I always section my hair into 4, so all parts can be properly moisturised.
@@HealthyAfroHair thank you so much for the reply love, it's really helpful and so is your hair journey it's really inspired me and I always look forward to seeing new videos from you xxx
So it’s just dawned on me that I’ve been watching a lot of your previous videos when your hair was relaxed and lliterally just clocked that you are the same person ha ha! May I ask what made you decide to palm off the relaxer and start growing your hair naturally?
RUclips Addict I used to watch her relaxed videos
You still had a bit of growth in April ‘17, even if you were transitioning. 2017 must be when you went completely natural and cut off the straight prices. So your hair is actually a little more than two years old...beautiful tho
It is what it is.... 3 and 1/2 years. She transitioned for 18 months and has been natural for 2 years
Thanks! Yes, I did mention at the start of my video that I transitioned for 18 months, before doing the big chop in April 2017 (you must have missed that part). So this video is showing me ‘fully’ natural, from April 2017-April 2019, which marks 2 years.
Yes, that’s correct!
I love your eyes they are 💗💘 a color I've never seen before🥺😭
They’re dark brown, but thanks 😊
She’s beautiful 💕
Thanks so much ☺️
This hair girl it is as if you got fertiliser in it lol
Amazing growth, love it. Am 3yrs natural now, how time flies. And i agree good products that works with d hair and consistency helps alot.
😆 Aww...thanks girl! Congrats on reaching 3 years on your hair journey 🙌🏾 Hope it’s going well.
In November it will be my 2yrs
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I've been natural for two years now and I'm over it but I can't find ur old relaxed hair cair videos, did you remove them?
No, they’re all still there. You can search ‘Relaxed hair videos’ in my search box or just scroll all the way back to the beginning.
Healthy Afro Hair maybe you could do a play list?
Dont be afraid and flat iron your hair .. if it is done right you wont get heat damage
Yeah definitely! I’m just happy with blow drying it for now.
Blow out my hair a lot and haven't seen heat damage I do wonder why my curls are getting looser though . My friend told me it's because I'm not 4c
Which are some of the hairstyles that require low manipulation?
High puffs or Wash n gos.
Ilove your hair
Hair twin :D
Did your hair grow faster on your natural journey or your relaxed journey?
Hi. Please help me out here. What does moisturize hair twice daily entail ? Do I have to do the LOC method twice a day ?
Hey! No, you can just use a moisturising product if you like or if your hair is really dry, then you can add the oil (after moisturising) to help lock in the moisture. But it really depends on your hair and how it feels. But regardless, I always spritz my hair with water, followed by a moisturiser.
@@HealthyAfroHair Thanks for replying. I'll try the water spritz followed by moisturizer. ❤
I did 😉
How often do you wash your hair?
Every 2 weeks!
@@HealthyAfroHair thank you so much for replying. I'm actually starting a hair journey of my own. But may I just ask one last question. How long can you keep your hair in a protective style before it starts to itch. Meaning wearing your natural hair in like twists. How long can you keep it in twists before it starts itching? Beautiful hair by the way 😊☀️🙂
I loooove your hair
Aww...thank you 🤗
What is your hair type?
It’s 4b/c
