  • Here’s my 2 Year Natural Hair Growth / Length Check Update Video. I did the big chop back in April 2017, having transitioned to natural hair for 18 months and so I’ve been documenting my natural hair journey for 2 years, through pictures and sharing my hair updates every 3-6 months.
    My last hair update was back in October 2018, so in this video, I’ll be showing you my entire progress pictures from April 2017 to April 2019.
    Hope you enjoy the video 🤗

    I found your videos by researching natural hairstyles for my wife. I most say i love the channel and your many beautiful hairstyles. Keep up the great work inspiring our black women to be proud of what god gave them and not the European standard of beauty with fake hair. Have a great day my sister!

    I also a 4C natural hair. I transitioned from heat damaged and finished cutting the straight ends off in oct of 2018. I have kept my hair out and have done natural hair styles with no heat. I wash my hair and deep condition my hair moisturize all of the above and for some reason every time I finally see a little bit of growth I have to trim it's because of the single strand knots. I don't feel I have seen any growth in the last six months due to the trims. I'm really hoping that by October 2019 which will be 2 years I can finally get away from collarbone/shoulder length I feel like I'm doing everything right. Besides the length of my hair its very healthy and I absolutely love it it just would be nice to start seeing some length with all the hard work I'm putting in. You are definitely my inspiration and congratulations on your two year mark your hair is gorgeous 😍

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  5 лет назад +1

      It sounds like you’re doing all the right things, so just keep at it. Obviously, trims take away from the length, but as long as your hair is healthy, it will continue to thrive and eventually you’ll begin to see the results. But thanks so much! It’s lovely to hear that you’re finding inspiration through my hair journey 💛

    Thanks for the update... For someone like me who's in the early days (chopped off my relaxed hair in March 2019), very inspiring to see your progress.
    I would've also liked to hear your current thoughts on the journey so far though. Still loving your natural hair? Have the pros/cons changed for you two years on? Would you ever consider relaxing your hair again? Would the advice you'd give newbies like me starting a natural hair journey stay the same? Etc.

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  5 лет назад

      That’s great to hear! The journey is still going great and I’m enjoying my hair. The only thing I find frustrating is dealing with knots & tangles, but I’m always looking for new ways to make things easier. No, I have no plans to relax my hair anytime soon and my advice to newbies would always be to keep researching and learning about your hair through experimenting & testing different methods. Also, keep experimenting with hair products, till you find what works too.

    I started watching your videos when you relaxed your hair, and I still watch them. Your hair has really flourished during the past two years, so congrats on a successful “natural hair” journey. I remember you mentioned trying to find a moisturizer called “World of Curls.” Did you ever find it? 😃

      Hey, thanks so much and for supporting my channel over the years 🤗 Yes, I found it and was using it for a while, but stopped. Funnily enough, I was just thinking about going back to it yesterday. It’s still a great product 😁🙌🏾

      Healthy Afro Hair Scurl is really good. What are the reasons you prefer World of Curls over Scurl?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  5 лет назад

      I actually tried it once, when I couldn’t get hold of the World of Curls spray and found it to be slightly greasy on my hair.

    • @soniastovall7005
      @soniastovall7005 5 лет назад

      Healthy Afro Hair This is true. I also find my hair greasy, but I put up with it because I like the moisture. I’d like to give it a try. Do you buy it locally or order it? I saw it in a privately owned beauty supply shop once, but it’s a hike from where I live. Thanks.

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  5 лет назад

      Yeah, definitely try it. I think you might like it better. There are 2 though; one with blue packaging (which I like) and the other in silver for ‘extra dry hair’. I used to buy it locally, but you can get it online too. If you do try it, let me know what you think.

    Hey I know this is a bit off topic but could you possibly share your skin care routine? Also, if it isn't too much to ask, maybe could you tell us if you think your diet helps or if its mostly good genes as well?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  5 лет назад

      Hey, I did a skin care routine on my channel some years ago, you can view it here; ruclips.net/video/08WZ6q4ovWI/видео.html I only use the Tea Tree face wash now. Genes is definitely the main contributing factor in terms of our hair growth rate, but our diet and how we take care of our hair is just as important too.

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  5 лет назад

      Hey, thanks for following my journey. I hope it’s been useful 🤗 My main hairstyle is a high puff, so it’s easy to moisturise my hair. But when moisturising, I always section my hair into 4, so all parts can be properly moisturised.

    You still had a bit of growth in April ‘17, even if you were transitioning. 2017 must be when you went completely natural and cut off the straight prices. So your hair is actually a little more than two years old...beautiful tho

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  5 лет назад +1

      Hey! No, you can just use a moisturising product if you like or if your hair is really dry, then you can add the oil (after moisturising) to help lock in the moisture. But it really depends on your hair and how it feels. But regardless, I always spritz my hair with water, followed by a moisturiser.
