Queen were great in the studio but even much much better in concert!! Freddie Mercury is the best male singer ever and this band is legendary! Every member of this band was incredible and the chemistry and friendship/Family between the four of them is something you don’t see often. The band members’ loyalty to him after finding out about his diagnosis was none like no weather!

The friday show (July 11th) was better than the one on sat (July 12th) IMHO....I wonder why they released on CD the latter one .. Freddie's voice sounds less tired on this gig.

FYI mrpatrickrevans, The NTSC format DVD players and disks were developed and available to us here in the US a year before the European PAL system DVD players and disks were available. So as far as "proper" DVDs go ours existed first therefore ours by default are the "proper" ones. There are DVDs available for Region 1 (That's right We are region 1 for a reason) on Amazon and elsewhere.
The guys were so much more relaxed the next night. Brian has said when they came home to England is when the nerves always kicked in as you really didn't want to disappoint the hometown crowd.....but no worries, I don't think Queen ever disappointed.
99% of people wouldn’t even notice. Usually Brian was the only one visibly nervous, and very very occasionally Freddie.... but these guys were such seasoned pros that by the 2nd or 3rd song they were almost always settled in.
LOL Yeah if you listen to the original that is what Freddy sang at the end of the song. If you watch "The Making of One Vision" on You Tube you will see that there were a lot of extra takes many with joking lyrics. I guess they wanted to lighten it up a bit so probably slipped the fried chicken thing in at the end. :)
Fascinating to see this - so used to the standard (Saturday) Live at Wembley version. Freddie's voice is in better shape here, overall. Ok, he's not hitting those amazing D5s on "GIMME your Heart" and "There's only ONE direction", but he's got way more control here...the little descending/ascending motif on "Direction" is A+ !!!
@TheBradge Yes because on the audience Recording he does hit it, but the name " Audience recording" give it away, its not meant to capture the most detailed and superb sound, this is a Multitrack recording so basically stereo it can't be compared to any audience recording. Also are you sure you aren't mixing up the nights? The second night might have an overdub or autotune processing going on, bit the first night definitely not.
It was featured on the Live at Wembley 25th Anniversary set, which featured the 12 July concert and the 11 July concert. The 11 July has very few overdubs though. The 12 July one has a lot of overdubs...
