And this is what this song is about. Since 1985 they cowrited all their songs under their band name, and you'll find Queen as author on all of their songs since 1985. This song basically celebrates their further unification and ultimately what makes their success in modern times, and their music timeless. All 4 members kinda parted to their solo carriers in early 1980s, and reunited in 1985, with the new decision that they're going to make music as one entity. On July 13th 1985, Queen attended the Live Aid concert, a charity event to raise money to aid Africa, and their appearance boosted the concert's viewership in both television and in person. As you may know, Live Aid was held in two locations. First one was in USA, Philadelphia, the other one was in UK, London. Queen performed in London.
I grew up on Queen, and this piece was late in their career, but it's still one of the best for me. Freddie was beautiful, a beautiful soul, and I had read how behind the scenes he was self-conscious and shy. I'm glad and utterly grateful that his singing allowed him to shine.

@@yoavaharony6838 "What's your favourite Queen song?" The answer is simply yes because they're all good and you sound a bit crazy by just saying a simple "yes". It's a pretty dry joke but I like how the avatar face fits the bill perfectly.
Freddie is one of the best vocalists ever. I was 15 when he died. Great music and I'm guessing he was a great person. He left us way too early. R.I.P Freddie Mercury.
I was only 22 when he died and was lucky enough to have seen them with my Mother when I was 15. Best concert I've ever seen, and you're right, Freddie is the greatest male vocalist of all time. I hope Mum is having a cold beer or wine with Freddie now. RIP.
Freddy and Queen were the only band to explore South America Africa Asia and that's where the population of the world is at. In Rio de Janeiro Queen played to a crowd of almost a half a million more or less! No other band is done that, one band not a concert of bands. Between the four members of the band they could hit the whole music scale Roger Taylor being the high soprano and all the way down to the bottom, Freddy alone could hit four! Have always been my favorite band. It's on the internet you look anywhere you want and Queen will come up as the best rock and roll band ever and Freddy as the best front man ever. I do my research and that's growing up listening to Queen and a lot of internet work. Love you all for acknowledging Freddy and Queen! Vic
I was 32 when he died and it was a slap in the face but he had the dignity to come out and announce it himself. He made no qualms about it, he didn't cry about it, he took it upon himself to let the whole world know. Vic
Deaky is living the dream. He was in the greatest band in history while having a healthy family life with just one wife the whole time and raised his kids and when Freddie died, he didnt need to try a d hold on to that side of his life. He walked away on his terms to be happy. Impressive
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the sheer f-ing GENIUS of Freddie Mercury that he can get away with saying 'just gimme fried chicken' at the end of one of his songs. Also the GENIUS of Jim Hutton for suggesting it to Freddie in the first place.
@@randiclark4925 OK fair enough Roger may have written the song but it was Jim who suggested to Freddie the fried chicken line. It says so in Jim's book about his relationship with Freddie. I'm not suggesting that Roger didn't write the song I'm just saying that even though it was a joking suggestion on Jim's part that Queen and Freddie were a big enough band to get away with singing about fried chicken. Freddie didn't even take the suggestion seriously at first but he obviously thought about it and later discussed it with Roger, John and Brian that they should put the fried chicken line in. Then later after they released the song Jim was surprised to hear his joked suggestion in the song.
watch the documentary/making of this. yes roger originally wrote the song , but a lot of his words were changed and brian , freddie , & roger all write it togther. different parts. 🙂
Freddie had one of the greatest, most powerful singing voices of all time. There may be bands that have been more successful commercially, but they ALL secretly wish they were Queen!
The Fireplace (The Old Lady) is a work of pure art. When Brian moves on, his Red Special deserves to be put in the British Museum so that future generations can admire it and remember!
I die every time I see the moment when Roger and Freddie are jumping on their chairs, and the sound director drops his head on the table 😂. This video is the most vivid and full of energy. Freddie's voice is especially brilliant here.
The director looks like he's thinking: "These guys are crazy nuts! What've I gotten myself into?!?!" But I think he knew. For those that don't know: an updated version of the [1995?] Queen bio, {w/forward by Brian May,} came out last month. I just got it a few days ago, and I'm over 1/2-way finished with it!
Freddy Mercury was the greatest performer in the history of modern rock. A pure entertainer, an unparalleled vocalist. There will never be another like him.

Queen: Love of my life, you've hurt me You've broken my heart and now you leave me... Also Queen: One man, one man One bar, one night One day, hey, hey Just gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme fried chicke
This is gonna sound cheesy but I don't care. This is one of the most powerful pieces of music I've ever heard. I keep coming back and EVERY time I tear up, I don't even know why. Maybe because of just how much energy this song has? The two crescendos are just immense and incorporate everything I love about music and being a musician. Even the interlude jam in the middle, its all on point and so cohesive. Sorry if it comes off as rambling, I just love this song so fucking much.
Jim Hutton in his memoir of Freddie said that he was the one who suggested it. Somewhere between the line of “you guys are big already, why don’t you just fool around and add a silly word like fried chicken in one of your songs? It will sell”. And damn right they did ! 👍🏻👍🏻
Jim Hutton laid claim to a lot of stuff. The rest of the band has gone on record saying quite of bit of what he claims he 'contributed' was hogwash, they just didn't say anything out of respect to Freddie.
Most adorable moments 1:09 - Freddie 1:14 - Roger that lip Bite 1:27 - Freddie is like a child 2:11 - dear God kill me please 2:36 - Froger moment on the left 3:14 - shake those curles Brian 3:58 - there is my new husband 3:59 - oh sorry I've changed my mind 4:03 - ,,sorry I didn't hear you" 4:07 - ,,bitch what" 4:10 - okay looks like no one is understanding anything 4:18 - ladies and gentlemen, Roger Meddows Taylor 4:21 - Deaky don't kill me 4:23 - oh Brian got wet 4:25 - 5:10 ... ok I can't do this anymore I'm going to cry in the corner of my room
It was the other way around actually. Jim (Freddie's husband) got it from him. Of course, Freddie didn't know, otherwise he would have taken precautions.
From what I read/heard years ago, it was a long day in the recording studio, and it was said as kind of a joke, as they were all very hungry... and they left it in.

@@yoavaharony6838 "What's your favourite Queen song?" The answer is simply yes because they're all good and you sound a bit crazy by just saying a simple "yes". It's a pretty dry joke but I like how the avatar face fits the bill perfectly.
Me: "Fried Chicken!" lol
Difficult to answer
Probably Breakthru for me and a kind of magic.
Nobody can substitute Freddie Mercury ! His voice is unique !
i feel like they can replicate the voice but they can never replicate the style
Why can't all music videos be like this?
Well music videos now adays contains lots of p0rn
Charlotte Aimee ikr
Because this is queen
I thought it was
Because they don't promote bands anymore. Musicians like this still exist. Queen 2.0 is out there
This could be the cutest Queen video, you got these men having a good time, smiling, doing funny faces, relaxing, just being a family ;;
Agreed !
“You got red lips
Snakes in your eyes
Long legs, great thighs
You've got the cutest ass I've ever seen
Knock me down for a six anytime”
All these men look gay
It's surprising that only 1 was actually gay
I find I’m going slightly mad also very cute, because you can see the crew having so much fun :D
What makes Queen great is that every song is different and it always takes you on a musical journey...
like the fact that this song is about fried chicken
yeah love it
R.I.P freddie he was unique there will not be another like him that's for sure
THE STAGE KING

Don't you mean stage queen
@@ellerybyrd1360 😂😂 yeah my apologies the stage queen
Freddie is one of the best vocalists ever. I was 15 when he died. Great music and I'm guessing he was a great person. He left us way too early. R.I.P Freddie Mercury.
Imagine if he was alive these days. The guy would be worth so much.
I was only 22 when he died and was lucky enough to have seen them with my Mother when I was 15. Best concert I've ever seen, and you're right, Freddie is the greatest male vocalist of all time. I hope Mum is having a cold beer or wine with Freddie now. RIP.
@@MrLeverington did you saw him in the live aid?
Vic
I can't watch this video without smiling.

Freddie, no voice like it ,he always sang with all he could 😃😃
Deaky is living the dream. He was in the greatest band in history while having a healthy family life with just one wife the whole time and raised his kids and when Freddie died, he didnt need to try a d hold on to that side of his life. He walked away on his terms to be happy. Impressive
Except of course it is rather well documented that John couldn't keep his dick in his pants
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the sheer f-ing GENIUS of Freddie Mercury that he can get away with saying 'just gimme fried chicken' at the end of one of his songs. Also the GENIUS of Jim Hutton for suggesting it to Freddie in the first place.
Roger Taylor is the one who wrote this song. It had nothing to do with Jim.
Everything in this song is genius. It felt like a miracle getting these people together

I've always wanted to see Brian's hair straightened... I treasure this.
he used to straighten it as a teenager in the 60s
Freddie had one of the greatest, most powerful singing voices of all time. There may be bands that have been more successful commercially, but they ALL secretly wish they were Queen!
Bravooooo

One of the greatest opening guitar riffs of all time! Legendary, timeless & classic, this masterpiece never gets old!

Freddie is always alive in everybody's heart!!!!!
They looked so happy and like they were having fun with this video 😋😋
One dump, one turd, two tits, John Deacon
There is a making of for this video. You can find it on YT.
I absolutely love seeing
The director looks like he's thinking: "These guys are crazy nuts! What've I gotten myself into?!?!" But I think he knew. For those that don't know: an updated version of the [1995?] Queen bio, {w/forward by Brian May,} came out last month. I just got it a few days ago, and I'm over 1/2-way finished with it!
I love ❤️ you’re crazy 😜

One flesh, one bone, one true religion
One voice, one hope, one real decision
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Give me one vision, yeah
No wrong, no right
I'm gonna tell you there's no black and no white
No blood, no stain
All we need is (one worldwide vision)
One flesh, one bone, one true religion
One race, one hope, one real decision
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa-yeah, whoa-yeah, oh yeah!

A dream of sweet illusion
A glimpse of hope and unity
And visions of one sweet union
But a cold wind blows and a dark rain falls
And in my heart, it shows
Look what they've done to my dream, yeah!
One vision
So give me your hands, give me your hearts
I'm ready! There's only one direction
One world and one nation
Yeah, one vision
No hate, no fight, just excitation
All through the night it's a celebration
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, yeah

One flesh, one bone, one true religion
One voice, one hope, one real decision

Queen: Love of my life, you've hurt me
You've broken my heart and now you leave me...

One bar, one night
One day, hey, hey
Just gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme fried chicke
They have evolved... think of it as a fluffy evee... to a flarion. (Sorry best metaphor)
This is gonna sound cheesy but I don't care. This is one of the most
powerful pieces of music I've ever heard. I keep coming back and EVERY
time I tear up, I don't even know why. Maybe because of just how much
energy this song has? The two crescendos are just immense and
incorporate everything I love about music and being a musician. Even the
interlude jam in the middle, its all on point and so cohesive. Sorry if
it comes off as rambling, I just love this song so fucking much.
Have you heard the cover by Laibach? It is even better.
@@espltdec1000vbk Better than Mercury's voice? Hell no.
It's loosely based on the "I Have a Dream" Speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The song is about unity.

Jam Guy That's exactly why I love this version! Here I can see that they weren't some terribly serious people. They actually fooled around! 🤣🤣🤣
Cannot agree more lmfao!!! 😂😂😂😂
Freddie had such energy, such a strong life force, charisma.
Jim Hutton in his memoir of Freddie said that he was the one who suggested it. Somewhere between the line of “you guys are big already, why don’t you just fool around and add a silly word like fried chicken in one of your songs? It will sell”. And damn right they did ! 👍🏻👍🏻
jou see jim at @3.47
Jim Hutton laid claim to a lot of stuff. The rest of the band has gone on record saying quite of bit of what he claims he 'contributed' was hogwash, they just didn't say anything out of respect to Freddie.
I’m loving Jim Hutton right now
And Sting/Police could sing "...every cake you bake, I'll be watching you..."
I always had a gut feeling Queen was trying to get sponsored by KFC for this tour 😂
