i was head carpenter on this tour took 3 weeks to build this stage and after building a lot of stages i can say, not only was he a top guy but a real gentleman and a really nice guy. out of all the great times i had including live aid , this has the best memories, top band.
outwith fans and people who knew freddie i always thought the general public and those disgusting rats in the gutter press never really understood Queen and freddie in particular, they always thought they were pretentious and up themselves which could'nt be further from the truth, they all had a great sense of humour and fun about them, none more than freddie, he was a kind and caring man who liked to help people if he could. Saw them 7 times, met Freddie twice, wouldn't give autographs. Pure lovely guy. I saw them supporting the original in MR Big in Cardiff 1971,only 100 folk there, classic. Roger tayor was a nice guy too. I couldn't play any queen music after he died for nearly a year, too upset rip Freddie. 🎉
I saw Queen in 80 and also 82 in Houston. I saw many of the greats in concert in the 70s and 80s. Freddie Merciry has the greatest voice i have ever heard. It was amazing to experience in person. Such a POWERFUL voice. The man was gifted from God. He OWNED that stage. His stage presence was off the charts...so glad i got to see them at their peak.
