It’s likely both direct injection and multiport- in other words dual fuel. The multiport helps cool valves and eliminate carbon buildup, an issue with earlier Ecoboost engines.
I’ll go with the GT Premium convertible in Rapid Red, or what I call candy apple red. Count me among those who LOVE the “cockpit”-style dashboard. The first chart shows the Ecoboost "Configuration" as being "Direct Injection," but further down, shows "Fuel Delivery" as "Sequential Multi-Port Fuel Injection." I'd imagine it's actually just direct injection? Also, with virtually the same gear ratios, I'm surprised Ford didn't decide to use the Tremec gearbox across-the-board, considering the bad reputation acquired by the Getrag (cost-cutting thanks to Ford's accountants, no doubt - guilty of the "PowerShift" transmission debacle).

Ford arent going to invest time effort & money on the forged engine parts & a new dual throttle body manifold for 20hp . And then a track car dark horse for only 500hp Expect closer to 530 hp. In Australia we have a tune only from Tickford S550 with 535hp - TUNE ONLY .
@@Steveaustin007 Did you watch the live stream? They said 500hp. Now they’re allowing Whipple to supercharge their cars. That’s probably the caveat for the forged internal.
What ever happened to the 6.2L push rod engine.....? Two years ago it was supposed to be going into production at the Windsor factory in Canada for the Mustang and F150.....??? Did it morph into the new 6.8 push rod V8 for the F250 ?
I have heard repeated noises from Ford about a new 8 speed manual transmission. And then you watch the video and they downgrade it to a 6 speed manual. Sadly the Eco 4 cylinder does not come with a manual transmission. The 10 speed automatic, i think will be OK for the ladies though. So what's this about an 8 speed manual? Typo, or what?
Ford has said the Dark Horse will get the excellent Tremec currently found in the Mach 1. The GT will get a revised MT82. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't there has ever been an 8 speed manual in a passenger car. Trucks yes. Ford is not about to bring the most confusing possible product to market that no one has asked for.
It looks alot like a camaro from the side view, the rear flairs out more aggressively like the camaro and the softened line on the door but the bottom of the door with the skirt forget about it. Looks great though I'm really liking it alot.

Can someone tell me about the 2 little lights in the grill? One on each side in the grill in line with the driving lights. No one mentions them and I'd like to know what they are for. Thanks
Ford didn't discuss it and I don't see anything in the press materials. I actually don't see them on the street car. There are some additional LEDs on the rendering of the R that Ford showed. I think those are reflections in some of the press videos you're looking at. This is all they say "The Tri-Bar LED headlamps continue the Mustang’s classic lighting signature. "
@@revmatchtv You can get a good look at the light im talking about at the 2 min mark of this video. @@Ebv66 no way a regular gt is having 500hp. 550hp na 5.0 would be nice but i doubt it.
@@Spiritcr1jsher 480 for GT 500 for Darkhorse
Ford arent going to invest time effort & money on the forged engine parts & a new dual throttle body manifold for 20hp . And then a track car dark horse for only 500hp
Expect closer to 530 hp.
In Australia we have a tune only from Tickford S550 with 535hp - TUNE ONLY .
@@Steveaustin007 Did you watch the live stream? They said 500hp. Now they’re allowing Whipple to supercharge their cars. That’s probably the caveat for the forged internal.
No Green Metallic? I recently saw a two door bronco in green met, it was stunning. Steve McQueen would be disappointed
I enjoyed the video, Thank you
Didnt tell us that the prices are probably going sky high.
IMO Ford hit a home run with this version!
What ever happened to the 6.2L push rod engine.....? Two years ago it was supposed to be going into production at the Windsor factory in Canada for the Mustang and F150.....??? Did it morph into the new 6.8 push rod V8 for the F250 ?
No official word, but a variant of the 7.3 Windsor may make its way into the GT500
Dark Horse for me
ECU is locked…therefor 18-21 models will be way more sought after than these s650s. Same thing happened to the f150. Sad thing to see too.
I think the only way to add power will be via Ford partners
@@revmatchtv Yup, and their tunes are horrific. No thank you.
just reached out to my dealer about a deposit cant wait!
If I owned a V8 Mustang, I would be the guy you see in all the videos doing a burnout and losing control and crashing…
I really hope they have an orange and/or purple for later models
It looks alot like a camaro from the side view, the rear flairs out more aggressively like the camaro and the softened line on the door but the bottom of the door with the skirt forget about it. Looks great though I'm really liking it alot.
Can't get over how much it looks like a Camaro... It's still a mustang but I see Camaro..
great video but, your audio is set to -9000 db watch any other video or media source and adjust volume comfortably, then play your video, just a heads up
I'll keep my 2008 Bullitt. The new one looks like a Camaro.
They should have a version of the Dark Horse with the bodywork from the track only mustangs. That would be awesome
I wonder if Ford Performance might offer some of this stuff
The Dark Horse is NOT a new version of the Mach 1. It is a new name in the Ford Mustang lineup entirely
Mechanically it's extremely similar, even if the name is not. It has nearly identical features as far we can tell.
From the outside, it is quite aggressive than in the previous version, but the dashboard in the form of a large LCD screen looks poor.
Colors Dark Horse, GT, Convertible :
- paint green (1964 color "R" )
Mustang GT, Convertible :
- bronze (1964 color "P")
I love the new Mustang, but the fast backs back glass is too bubbled ... Should be more streamlined
They need to bring it back and make it look like the fox body from the '80s and put a hatchback and T-tops
excited for the Dark Ember blue. looks great
They keep talking about the push rods and slapping a supercharger on it so correct me if I’m wrong wasn’t that Gen 3 coyote supercharger ready already?
This mustang is equal in beauty to the 03-04 terminator. Eye candy
Chevy Camaro SS needs to submit a design copyright claim against Ford on this one...
hello Eric! i noticed mustang brought back the exposed drivers side door key.
Good catch!
@@revmatchtv
Thanks,
@@revmatchtv
You can get a good look at the light im talking about at the 2 min mark of this video. It's a small light on the passenger side just inside the grill housing in line with the try bar lights. There is another on the driver's side that you can't see.I've noticed them in multiple videos of this car.
I mean the dark horse looks menacing, but Couldn’t they name it better than taking a page out of a Katy perry song lol?
does anyone know the leg room in front for driver?
Dimensions should be very close to the S550
3:55 Sorry if I missed it but can you comment on the rear wheel double brake calipers on the dark horse?
Damn, the Mustang is such a beautiful car. Too bad FORD doesn't invest on improving reliability. So many owners have major problems with the reliability. Even Consumer Reports the car as a 1 out of 5 for reliability. That's such a shame. For that reason, I would buy the Camaro SS instead.
Beautiful. I think Mustang is getting back on track with their new line. All that horsepower, but where to go? Unless seeing blue lights behind your rearview mirrored. And don’t think of trying out run the cops.
A lot of them getting supercharged Hell Cats to keep up the speeders.I just got the 411 on the whole deal.
Where to go? The track of course. 😅
Here’s hoping that the Dark Horse is also available in Mystichrome, the chameleon color-shifting Mustang paint job from bygone days.
They didn’t tell us the price because future Dark Horse owners would be happier with a cheaper but similar performing Camaro SS 1LE. 45K vs 65K+, you can even get a C8 Corvette or a ZL1 for the same money
Prices are never announced at launch anymore. Manufacturers drip the information so they have more press releases.
its facelifted s550 its about as different as 14 mustang is from 09. still neat lookin tho. keep my 15 xD
The one you want is the Stang with the Godzilla motor in it.
The New Coyote V8 will be a good crate engine to buy !!
Am I missing something?
The Mustang Dark Horse is 500 HP?
What will the new GT 350 & 500 be ?
Thanks
I dont think they're making any new 350 or 500
@@LOUCABRASI
They are going to make GT500
I love the new mustang and dark horse, just like when the S550 came out people won’t like it at 1st then will find themselves ordering one. Just as long as the mustang is better than the previous generation, I’m fine with it. Those twin throttle body’s are 80mm…👍🏽👍🏽
With the 4th gen. Coyote, did Ford finally fix the dreaded Coyote tick????
Is it worth having more power if it’s going to be heavier!?
Ford has listed the s650 as being the same weight as the 2023 models.
ECU is locked on the Dark Horse and GT by the way.
Mustang fan here from my 70', Mach 1, 428 Cobra Jet. I really like the front of that white....ish Mach 1. Not sure if all of the rear tail light areas are the same on all of them, but not thrilled about them, and that wide digital dash looks really out of place, give me an instrument cluster any day. Also, I just don't like the flat look of that Dark Horse grill. I tried to like it, but nope....can't do it.
I'm willing to bet money that damn Dark Horse will only be available in a goddamn hardtop. The highest trim level should be offered in a manual transmission with a convertible top
(Gt500)
Yes - there's no mention of a convertible version.
This appears more like another Bullitt rather than a Mach1.
That rear diffuser looks like it came off a 2001 Pontiac Aztec…it kinda does🤷🏻♂️
I saw some posted pricing on the darkhorse at 65k.
Whatever someone posted is not accurate. Companies don't even finalize price until the car is close to launch. I've asked, and that's pretty normal practice. I'm guessing it will sticker at $60K plus and you'll be able to get it up close to $80k with the cf wheels.
The previous gen Coyotes were capable of lots of power under boost, so the 4th gen should only be better.
The issue this time is that the ECU will be locked, so buyers will be 'locked in' to the partners Ford chooses to work with. At least until someone cracks the ECU or clones without encryption.
