I like both but actually prefer the more mature look of the facelift.
I prefer the current Elantra over the facelift. It looked younger and more eager to explore, which I like in a compact sedan. The facelift looks more mature but older, less about fun than the current one.
I agree with you mate
This is the standard model, which is more designed to be geared towards general consumers. I'd wait for the N model's face lift leak.
I tend to associate a mature look with being expensive, and young with being cheap.
Agreed, granted I own the 2021. The front smaller triangle I like better on the 2021 vs 2024. 24 is too large and looks like a black chunk of plastic.
It certainly is better than the previous version
Dependent on the person, for me old one looks better, new front looks like VW Passat 4 me
I wonder how the n version of this is gonna look like
Which version? There were like 17 of them in last few years alone.
@@RohanPL same. I prefer the previous.
Getting VW vibes from that front end. Very handsome and more grown up looking
Edit: you said it!
I really enjoy your videos, I don't know what it is, I think it might be your simplicity and authenticity, maybe the humbleness and sincerity too. Well those are things that you aquire by working on your own person for long time.Thank you.
100% agreed.
More mature look but the prior back end does fit more into that mature look. Good facelift as usual Hyundai
it feels like a german design
looks so much like a vw passat
The Elantra N facelift is going to look so good
I respectfully disagree, if I trade in my Elantra N for a 2024+, I'll be reverting the grille to the 2021-2023 style.
Curious and excited to see how this new facelift looks on the N and N-Line models.
I think I prefer the higher headlights on the current - the extra chunkiness makes it a little more aggressive. But the shapes on the bumper look a lot more defined on the new one, so that’s good. I just hope they aren’t slowly redesigning the funk out of it.
I find the wheels on Hyundai cars tend to look too small for the body
Comfier and better range
Buy new ones
Interesting 🤔
I personally didn't mind the previous front end though 🤷🏿♂️
Your opinion on the restyled Peugeot 508?
With all the creases, it still looks like an unfolded paper airplane
I love this update. Definitely agree with you saying the new one looks very Volkswagen-like in the front.
I already liked the pre-facelift Elantra, but I like it even more. Curious how the N will look.
The front looks like Volkswagen Arteon rather than Hyundai hah
Upd. You already mentioned it, it really does look like it.
An other facelift that would be so interessant to analyse would be the new Peugeot 508. The ole one had a very cool design and they made a big facelift on the front who's also very nice to analyse ! Even if it isn't known in america I think it could really be a good video !
facelift looks great.
Cool lookin asf!! Also HI SKETCHMONKEY!!
Awesome review.
The new version makes me appreciate the older versions more but there isn't much difference, but I still prefer the new one
Hopefully they do the Kia Forte next! Love mine and it deserves a redesign
Nice I like it.
At the first view, just after launching the video, the new one looks a lot like a Volkswagen Passat ! The higher part with the grill and the headlight seems very close and even the side air intakes looks a lot like something that VW could have been.
Ok proud to hear you tell almost the same thing ^^
Finally I prefer the "old" one. I don't like the new rear diffuser, which is too big. For the Elentra N, why not but not for the standard one. And even if the new one is a bit more serious, I prefer the originality of the old one, and as you say, it was recognisable at the first glance
Can you do some analysis on the Fisker Pear prototype?
Just a small correction, the middle section of the front end won’t light up, maybe it was a decision made to differentiate it from its older brothers Sonata (will get it in the upcoming facelift) and Azera (new gen)
I heard the sonata is going to be discontinued
I don't think that's the case. Hyundai has just launched the new Verna (Accent as the rest of the world calls it) here in India, and it gets the light bar in the middle. It's bizarre as to why the new Elantra doesn't get it.
@@victorrangel14 that's not the case, atleast for this generation. Facelift will come. I guess, Hyundai will bring out one last model (which is the facelift) before they decide if they want to axe it or not.
Very good-looking, the old one looked good. This looks amazing
The existing Elantra is also very cool, but the facelift is a little cooler. well done hyundai.👍
Always fantastic.
Completely agree with your analysis. New front end looks better. They should have kept the previous rear end styling as it is FAR more cohesive with the New front end styling. It looks very much like (2) different groups were tasked with restyling the front end and rear end...bad move.
I agree the rear end of the older one looks better on the newer one and vice versa just like you said.
In 2011 Hyundai introduced a new generation Elantra that, to be honest, still remains the best looking Elantra. It had a sexy c-pillar and a sweep-like feature going into the upper rear quarters from the upper doors. Leaner, sporty, and still the one.
Great video thanks Sketch!
Totally agree. That's why I'm keeping my 2015 model😂
I can't tell if this comment is satire or not
i love the new front. The N version front looked like a black mouth guard. liking the lower feel. excited to see the N
Thanks for the update. Just bought a 2023 Elantra - I prefer the front end of the new styling, but I agree that the current rear end is superior. The 2024 rear end looks like it's drooping down. Overall, I'm content with my 2023. No buyers remorse here.
Yeah no remorse but had to say you like the old one better lol knowing you dont
I see a lot of Passat in the front, a very handsome design
Any rough estimates on when it will hit the US market?
Something about the previous generation headlight always made me think of the Air Force, I really don't know why but every time I see one I think of the Air Force when I see the headlights.
1:49 that’s just the reflection of the surroundings lol. It’s all gloss black. I liked how minimalist it was compared to the new one.
Why is the back so high up compared to the front when seen in side view? Doesnt harmonize well there imo.
That arrow pointing forwards in the side somehow makes it look even more static. It’s nowhere near big enough and it’s too symmetrical from front to back, I do think it would’ve worked better if the center of mass of that particular feature was further forwards on the car to give it a pulled-from-the-front, Naboo starfighter kind of weight.
Yeah, backwards Z on the side of the car kills it for me. I can handle the ugly taillights and overstyled front end....but the side "design" is too much.
I wonder how the new N will look and if they'll push it to 300 hp. I'm definitely picking it up if that's the case.
I like that they cleaned up the lower half of the front, but the flatter top line across the lights and grille makes it look duller. That silver piece at the back weighs the car down and looks out of place. But almost why bother with the refresh - most buyers in this segment will barely notice or care.
I like the more understated updated version, can’t wait for the N version, I think it will give it a great sleeper status
Happy with how my 2022 Elantra N-Line looks
I love both, but I prefer the previous one. It's so beautiful
A pre-facelift only a mother could love
What's below the triangle vent on old nose? That's called a reflection
New front reminds me of the mk8 gti. The old one most likely cost more because it appears to have two separate headlights
It‘s not a single light bar in the front face, korean journalist says the bar in the middle should be kinda chrome? With a plastic between the body and the chrome garnish.
If Porygon from Pokemon became a car
I think I like the N-Line front face over either of these! Full N is a bit much for me.
Maybe if they show a facelifted N and/or N line they might get me interested
You should check out the N with those black parts painted. Looks really nice, less character tho
@@_drivEN_ I saw those and I still think the side vents are a bit much. The N-Line to me has the best balance
I'm hoping to god the EN gets the new nose shape too, it would be an improvement. I;ve been waiting to see a refresh on it's nose. Not that I couldnt live with it now, but only just now ready to pull the trigger anyaway. Always wished the EN had the Nline's nose really badly. Weird when your wishing for the lower triims nose.
I have to see them side by side in real life, I like the way the N looks right now.
I like the previous front face with the new rear end, the new front face reminds me of the Kia k5 but nonetheless Hyundai designs are great
i think the old one looked fine but the thing that bothered me about it was that the gap for the hood cuts across the headlights to the wheels in a way that doesn't line up with the headlight features at all
Liked the old one and really like the new one. I think the Elantra is a terrific looking sedan.
Also the light bar doesn't go across the middle of the front, it is just a chrome bar
I can only imagine how cool will be the facelifted Elantra N
also the elantra N will get facelift ?
Wish all the models would adopt the grill headlights like on the Tucson and Santa Cruze
This facelift is more of what I was imagining I would have done it when I first saw the pre-facelift back in 2020...
I cant wait to see what the elantra N will look like
Just a nit pick but I don’t like how the headlights don’t match up with the panel gaps anymore, you can tell it wasn’t originally made for the new front end
Wow before you even brought it up I was already thinking it looked like the VW Arteon 😂
the facelift looks gorgeous
Can you make a render to see what the new Elantra N might look like?
This is kinda remind me of the new Honda accord in the front. At least I. The headlights and positioning
Hyndai design language is just too good ❤
I don't like what they did to the front end, it looked cool pre-facelift, now it just looks more generic. I think what they did to the rear is pretty neat though
No tf it did not
I do agree that both vehicles pretty good.... I currently have a 2023 Hyundai Elantra... I do like the front end and the back end of the vehicle and with this new model I see where they're going but I do agree that the new front end with the old back end would look better..... to me though I like the current look of the vehicle and it's front grill the styling is very nice.......with the 2024 they seem to be dipping more into their sister company's styling (Kia)
Looks more aggressive than the pre facelift, i like it
It looks like the VW Arteon's baby brother from korea.
edit: OMG you think so too lmao
It looks like it grew up, I love it
This look better, I should've waited and gotten this one
An interesting facelift, I like the new front better, but it definitely lost some of the quirky originality. The back looks a little more race car, but maybe not prettier! All in all, a good facelift, changing it up a bit!
Amazing car!
Agree with you entirely!
The front looks more refined but the rear is arguably worse. To clarify, regular cars like the Elantra don't have diffusers, that's just a rear fascia that mimics a diffuser.
Am I the only one who first thought the front end looked like the EQS?
I love the current Elantra , the N trim specifically
I prefer the pre-facelifted Elantra to the new one. The new one looks a bit too mature for me. I always liked how the Elantra felt playful in the front end, and this new one robbed that for me. Save the mature front end for the Honda Civic.
If they make a coupe of the elentra like the Genesis 2.0T but with the same angles and lines and engine that comes in thee N, it'd be a very popular sports car!
at :32 did you mean Genesis rather than Lexus?
The headlight of the new model is more beautiful for me, but the front bumper does not feel stable and is very narrow. I think the bumper of the previous model is better, but it is not ideal either. I think more empty spaces, more empty surface should be included in the design of the front bumper. Peace ✌️
Facelift looks much better. Finally dont feel like I would have to explain to someone why the car looks the way it does. It's more mature and at the same time also cooloer looking. A tough feat to pull off at the same time. I cant wait to see the N version. The looks were the main thing preventing me from considering that car a viable option.
"Finally dont feel like I would have to explain to someone why the car looks the way it does." You weren't the designer. . . So it's not your place to explain why the person who designed the car, designed it the way they did. . . Your comment just comes off as pretentious and taking yourself too seriously. After all, if the car was as bad as you say it is, it wouldn't have caused the Elantra to absolutely explode in popularity.
@@Retarded_Pooh Elantra has not exploded in popularity and they are quickly redesigning it. And obvious admission from Hyundai themselves that the looks are holding people back.
looks better, hope the Sonata also get face refresh, current Sonata looks so weird!
Sonata looks sick
My ONLY gripe with the current generation Elantra WAS the front end. So I'm glad this is being corrected and once it is, can actually go near or on the top of my list of fully cohesive offerings!
Daaaayyyuuuummmmmmm😮😮😮🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Agree. The front part for the new facelift looks suitable more with the backside of the current one. It looks more elegant, luxury and less sporty, more towards continental car vibes.
While the backside for new facelift are too sporty looking with big diffuser and doesnt feel compatible with sweet smiling front part. It suits more to the front part of current one.
Thats just my opinion. No hate
Actually this reminds me of how the change from the 2006-2011 hyundai Azera changed. I think the 2006-11 owners wanted the more tied down performance of the later azera but the previus generation actually looked better.
I though the 2006-2011 Azera was a beautiful and sexy design. I was so disappointed with the generation that came after. It just looked like a big Sonata and wasn't as attractive.
@@palebeachbum same, the 06-11 was timeless and everything on was too playing with the times. I have an 07 with 85k now and hope to keep it going for a while. It has its flaws like the passenger side airbags going faulty rather early and cv boots needing changed out sooner rather than later but that's mostly it's major flaws. I've only had to put in new head gasket liners but that's because of age not milage. The previous owners kept it garaged and only used it as a second vehicle so time eroded/dried out the rubber parts some which is par for the course.
@@commycasty what exactly needed to replaced for the passenger airbags?
@@palebeachbum Well I did some research and it's an issue with the seatbelt sensor on the passenger side and according to folks who have had it fixed the chances of it happening again are fairly high, and it's not exactly cheap to have fixed. So it's just something I'm going to live with tbh.
@@commycasty modern cars have a weight sensor in the seat that lets the car know if it's occupied and should deploy the passenger side airbags in an accident. It's probably the same type of issue in that Azera, but with a seatbelt sensor instead.
I have the 21 and my only complaint is the lights are horrible. Can't see nothing out in the country where no lights exist. And that even goes for the back up lights.
I am waiting for an after market headlight replacement assembly that has LEDs. Not the projector headlights. That technically was a backwards step for headlights.
If I just go by the eye test and try not to analyze everything, at first glance I will roll with the 2023 mug/backside.
Definitely like the face-lift. Looking forward to a totally new design though. Its time. The 17 18 Elantra was better looking than the current generation.
I agree. I had a 2018 Elantra. Aside from the grill looking too big to me, I thought it was a beautiful design. Then they gave it that horrible facelift for 2019 with the triangle headlamps, then the full redesign for 2021, which I thought was hideous on the outside. It's slowly grown on me, but it's still an awkward-looking design. I do like the 2024 facelift better, but I'm looking forward to a fully redesigned Elantra. I hope they go back to some classy styling again. I might have to consider it.
The 2017-2018 financially speaking did the worst in sales compared to the new facelift, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the sales data doesn't back up your opinion. More people liked the 2021-2023 than they did the previous generation. I avoided the previous generation altogether because it looked too basic and bland, I WAS going to get a Toyota, but when Hyundai released the 2021-2023 facelift, I immediately went with that, so much so that I opted to buy the 2023 Elantra N.
@@Retarded_Pooh my preference has nothing to do with sales data. I just prefer the looks of the 2017-2018. I think the facelifted 2024 looks so much better at the front than the 2021-2023. I don't like the large black blobby shape on the rear though.
I like the current 23’ I think the new one looks too scrunched in the front. The older one was more simple yet sharp.
i like the old front the new back and new interior lol.
Tomorrow I'm going to sign a contract to buy new Hyundai Elantra. Guy from Hyundai has told me there is a facelift version available for order already but they don't know the price yet. I think I will stick to 2023 pre facelift version. I like both of them but I bet new version is going to be more expensive and these changes are too small for me to pay extra.
My first thought: "I love this front" Hyundai gets better and better through this few years. I am talking about facelift of course and I'd definitely pick that one.
It does look exactly like the golf r front
@@ii_dynasty If u remove this grill and replace the logo..🤔 DAMN almost the same 🤯
I think it looks good but the front looks too slim. It looks like a 4:3 picture was squished into a 2:1 framing.
Face-lift looks very Passat-like, definitely an improvement
More golf r with the light bar
@@ii_dynasty it’s not a light bar, it a “gloss bar”. It won’t light up
love the rear end redesign but hate the front redesign, the front end had more personality, the new one doesn't have that intersting look, yeah looks like a vw sedan, looks alright but feels safe and normal.
Current one reminds me of a mazda and new one reminds me of a vw
