That was way before the Dirk revolution, but still most guys in Italian message boards were considering him an NBA level talent. I was very surprised he went so late in the draft. Manu was hands down one of the greats. Simply amazing. As a Mavs fan I fucking HATED the Spurs, but you had no choice but to respect them, from Pop, to Duncan, to Ginobli, and even Parker. Ginobli most definitely made his mark on the game, but the sad part is that even then he still won't get the credit he deserves for the way he impacted the game.

It takes a lot maturity to for a player to reflect on their skills and abilities that on paper make them into a primary scorer for any other team. But he embraced the efficient bench role behind the consistency of Tim Duncan knowing that the Spurs have what it takes to compete at a high level. And he will have his big moments where he will just do what he does best.
