I will be posting a video on my page soon about what happened to me, but I thought I'd warn you Dan. My scooter battery exploded in my garage out of nowhere and burned our house down. I wish I was joking, it's been a nightmare. It wasn't plugged in or anything, the battery just smoked and caught fire. My family and I are safe, but I thought I'd give you a heads up before I go public to warn others.
Wowwwww!!! Is everyone ok? I will definitely include you and your family in my daily prayers. What kind of Scooter was it? Please do not tell me it was a Bronco Xtreme... I fear the day that this will happen to someone and because of the Owner's stance and outright carelessness for the Consumers who buy and ride their Scooters (setting them up for such a disaster by insisting the unskilled Consumer replace and install their own faulty components. No Consumer should be pushed to installing their own Controller and/or step down units. Was your Scooter a Bronco Xtreme or other ticking time bomb?

This is WHY I'm so voisterous about this whole Bronco thing (because they have declared that they are not going to send the revised Broncos they have prepared already... instead they decided to ship components to Consumers that they themselves should be taking care of.

Disappointing about the glitch but thanks so much for posting your experience, I hate that you had to be the test pilot. I'm a heavier rider looking for my first scooter, I live in a rural area and need something with good speed (45+mph) and a real 25 mile range, this and the Nami are on my radar but I'm scared to buy either after watching your reviews, I guess I'm gonna hold off and keep studying.

Yessss it is very dissapointing but this is why I have the passion and ability to do what I do (helping unsuspecting Consumers avoid the devastating hit many encounter by these type of occurrences) I will be receiving my replacement Nami any day now (I'm expecting Monday or Tuesday due to Holiday) I'm hoping it arrives with no issues or damage. As for the Bronco, the Manufacturer has made it clear that they will NOT REPLACE their defective Scooter (which will be the first in this 2021 Season not to handle their product deficiency Consumer minded) their move may cost them more than they are prepared to see.

Yeah Buddy, I don't go back and forth with vendors and manufacturers over eScooter issues. Most of them know they have issues before I even contact them about it. Bronco is definitely aware of this Controller issue and are not willing to replace the units, They will ONLY ship New Controllers which don't help normal Customers because they have to be Programmed to function properly with Motors, BMS and Battery. The Vendor was very good in taking care of the problem to the best of their ability but the problem rest with the Manufacturer (Bronco Motors) It is a production problem that ONLY the Manufacturer can fix perfectly.

Yesssss, the KING is solid!! Thanks for all the encouragement. Two power scooter purchases little less than $10,000 dollar MSRP, reduced to $1400 dollar Scooters... just don't feel right. I feel better about the Nami because at least they've gone over and above to rectify the matter now shipping the second and final batch, individually wrapped, single pallet and private shipping company. On the other hand Bronco Motors kept their Newly Revised Models and shipped Controllers that no one can do anything about. I'm so dissapointed in them and spoke with them directly... so this isn't hearsay.

I already placed my order for the new Dualtron Thunder 2 [ they said I should get it around October ] But this is just flat out says so much about the company that makes these broncos. It's unacceptable. I would get your money back and move on. I've read several threads with tons of people saying the same thing about the bronco. Ditch that shit company that sends you out a unit that is supposed to fix it BUT you cant do it cause its HAS to be done at the factory. What bullshit from a company. Sorry to cuss. I just feel for you. I'm getting the Dualtron Thunder 2, already paid on it. Its not out for a few months but their reputation is unmatched. And the stats on the Thunder 2 are insane. They are the ONLY Company I've dealt with who have no desire to FIX the issue by recalling defective units and replacing with New Working and fully functional units. The Thunder 2 is a formidable eScooter. I hope you got it from the same place that I bought mine from (MiniMotorsUSA.com). John, Cooper and the MM Team are among the best in the industry. Yeah @Curtflirt2... I don't know how long they knew but if they knew before the release, and released it anyways... that's all bad. Not the way manufacturers should behave. It is so sad to see them take this stance (not to recall and replace all defective units)
I know, that's unfortunate. I hoping that Bronco rectifies the problem like Nami so that we can do a fair assessment of the two in order to determine which reigns Supreme.
I bought the Bronco when it first came out and when I started testing it... it would shut down between 45mph - 49mph. When I spoke to the Vendor I bought it from they agreed with me that it had a controller and step down issue. So I called Linden (the owner of Bronco Motors) to ask If he was going to recall the 18 affected units and Linden told me emphatically that they WILL NOT REPLACE them... then he went on to say that he will send out Controllers and Step Down Units to the Customer so that the Customer installs it or have them installed. I told Linden that that is a big liability and extremely dangerous in the hands of unskilled Customers. He said that they should hire someone to install it (that's like saying... "that's their problem") So before we hung up the phone I told Linden that I would never promote their Brand or Scooter because of his response and negligent approach to resolving a Manufacturer defect as dangerous as it was. I told him of all the Manufacturers who had issues, he was the ONLY ONE not willing to take care of the Customer. So that's WHY I do not promote, suggest, recommend or talk about the Bronco anymore. Furthermore... I spent $1700 more dollars to get all the DEFECTIVE components taken out and replaced with RION Components and now I have a rebuilt Super Scooter that is definitely NOT a Bronco ANYMORE... I now call it... "The RIONized X Bronco"
This is an ongoing problem with electric vehicles coming from China. Quality controller is terrible. I was looking at the Bronco but after reading the problems with them and then this video, I will not be getting the Bronco. Great video keep up the good work.
Yeah, it's unfortunate because there is so much about this eScooter that's so right. The ONLY problem I have with the Bronco is the "Power" and that is huge because OhManDan loves "Power"

Wow.. Customer service solution is to send out a controller instead of a new scooter? And then the owner can't even program the controller even if they go through the effort of installing it? Wow...just wow... I'll stick with my commuter cruiser for now...it only cost me 13 LMAO

I am stuck with a $4500 dollar eScooter that is only capable of performing like a 30mph Commuter but not as productive as the $1200 - $1800 dollar Competitors in that range. Bronco Motors is the ONLY Manufacturer who had problems with their New 2021 Model and in reality DID NOTHING to make sure they took care of the less than 18 Consumers who bought a defective Unit. They had so much promise... now reduced to a Builder who will never put Customer Safety and Service as their priority.
Another great video. This is unfortunate. You have great patience. Two scooters? Similar problems? I'd expect a complete refund. That money would be going to another company who understands quality control. There are no excuses for wasted time and effort.
I totally AGREE with you @Sean S. My thing is, either a Company do the RIGHT thing or they DON'T I don't waist my valuable time going back and forth with them with that negative energy. The Vendor did ALL he can DO to rectify the situation in BOTH cases. With Nami, they are shipping a brand New Scooter with private Shipping Company. Bronco Motors ONLY agreed to send out a new Controller (which helps no one because they have to be programmed to work properly) Bronco's decision to handle their problem the way they are may COST them tons of business in the long run, especially with them KNOWING what the ISSUE is, and they are planning to release a new model before they even FiX the issue with the Bronco Xtreme. Priorities are ALL WRONG!!! That's so unfortunate but it doesn't have to BE if they just DO the RIGHT thing and MAKE THESE few people who have defective units WHOLE before they RELEASE any New Models

Yes the first one had a serious Controller issue, where it cut out power at higher speeds (45-50mph) This 2nd one has the same problem but thus time worst in that it Jenks hard when the power cuts as opposed to the 1st one cutting with a tapered affect. The Scooter has literally been reduced to a high cost Commuter Scooter (not capable of reaching speeds over 35-40mph without cutout) Bronco is aware and acknowledges the Controller issue and chose to ONLY ship out New Controllers which will not help the general Consumer because the Controller must be programmed to match the Motors, BMS and Battery.

Just gotta get two fully functional models in the Nami and Bronco (I was for sure this replacement was going to WORK) Oh yeah, what about that UPS footage of the one I sent back... just straight brutal. He tossed that thing foot over head onto that truck. I just had to record and share that moment, especially in light of the FedEx damage. LOL!!

Now if there is gonna be any real contender it’s gonna be the storm limited coming out in the fall which has a higher output in motor then the x2 but at the end, even if it is a tiny bit faster than the x2 the x2 has the bulkier build, suspension, and overall better build (although it’d be cool if it had a bigger backplate like the storm)

Someone asked me the other day and I said Bronco but in light of this same issue (even worst) I can no longer say the Bronco (that issue will not go away on its own, it has to be solved on a production level) and I cannot say Nami until I get my replacement for that one (which should be by next week) and of course I'm expecting it to arrive PERFECT and of course if Bronco doesn't get its ACT together the Nami would WIN by default
Very disappointing hopefully they correct this quickly this would be a great Daulton replacement. Also stop defending FFR shipping mistakes, we know better ;)

No Buddy it doesn't affect all Bronco Xtremes. But I'd yours is affected you will know when going 35-50mph, you will feel the power cut out and limit you to the lower speed it cut out at.
Yeah, you're right. Before COVID, I NEVER EVER ordered on line. And this is why, cause you get stuck. I'm old school... I like dealing with real people face to face.
It may be the settings in the controller. You may be able to change the settings and remove the braking and the soft start and so forth

I am stuck with a $4500 dollar eScooter that is only capable of performing like a 30mph Commuter but not as productive as the $1200 - $1800 dollar Competitors in that range.
Bronco Motors is the ONLY Manufacturer who had problems with their New 2021 Model and in reality DID NOTHING to make sure they took care of the less than 18 Consumers who bought a defective Unit.
They had so much promise... now reduced to a Builder who will never put Customer Safety and Service as their priority.
Another great video. This is unfortunate. You have great patience. Two scooters? Similar problems? I'd expect a complete refund. That money would be going to another company who understands quality control. There are no excuses for wasted time and effort.
I totally AGREE with you @Sean S. My thing is, either a Company do the RIGHT thing or they DON'T
I don't waist my valuable time going back and forth with them with that negative energy.
The Vendor did ALL he can DO to rectify the situation in BOTH cases. With Nami, they are shipping a brand New Scooter with private Shipping Company.
Bronco Motors ONLY agreed to send out a new Controller (which helps no one because they have to be programmed to work properly)
Bronco's decision to handle their problem the way they are may COST them tons of business in the long run, especially with them KNOWING what the ISSUE is, and they are planning to release a new model before they even FiX the issue with the Bronco Xtreme. Priorities are ALL WRONG!!!
That's so unfortunate but it doesn't have to BE if they just DO the RIGHT thing and MAKE THESE few people who have defective units WHOLE before they RELEASE any New Models
Replacement? What happened to the first one? Was it stolen or damaged?

Yes the first one had a serious Controller issue, where it cut out power at higher speeds (45-50mph)
This 2nd one has the same problem but thus time worst in that it Jenks hard when the power cuts as opposed to the 1st one cutting with a tapered affect.
The Scooter has literally been reduced to a high cost Commuter Scooter (not capable of reaching speeds over 35-40mph without cutout)
Bronco is aware and acknowledges the Controller issue and chose to ONLY ship out New Controllers which will not help the general Consumer because the Controller must be programmed to match the Motors, BMS and Battery.
X2 v bronco v nami . I think they will be the top 3 questions is in which place will each be in ?🤔

Just gotta get two fully functional models in the Nami and Bronco (I was for sure this replacement was going to WORK) Oh yeah, what about that UPS footage of the one I sent back... just straight brutal. He tossed that thing foot over head onto that truck. I just had to record and share that moment, especially in light of the FedEx damage. LOL!!

@@christiandelgado2157 Yezzzzzir Buddy, I'm EXCITED for you. That's my favorite Scooter right now. When I think one of these newer models might topple it... the X2 still reigns Supreme in the end.

Now if there is gonna be any real contender it’s gonna be the storm limited coming out in the fall which has a higher output in motor then the x2 but at the end, even if it is a tiny bit faster than the x2 the x2 has the bulkier build, suspension, and overall better build (although it’d be cool if it had a bigger backplate like the storm)

It is so difficult to tell right now without fully functional units per each Brand.
I was sure this Bronco was not going to exhibit the same issues as the previous replacement but it was worst.
Someone asked me the other day and I said Bronco but in light of this same issue (even worst) I can no longer say the Bronco (that issue will not go away on its own, it has to be solved on a production level) and I cannot say Nami until I get my replacement for that one (which should be by next week) and of course I'm expecting it to arrive PERFECT and of course if Bronco doesn't get its ACT together the Nami would WIN by default
Very disappointing hopefully they correct this quickly this would be a great Daulton replacement.
Also stop defending FFR shipping mistakes, we know better ;)
Darn! This really stinks! Does it affect all Bronco’s produced this year? I got mine a few weeks ago but haven’t had time, the right gear (and the guts) to ride it at full speed.

No Buddy it doesn't affect all Bronco Xtremes. But I'd yours is affected you will know when going 35-50mph, you will feel the power cut out and limit you to the lower speed it cut out at.
This is what keep you from ordering online stuff like this
Yeah, you're right. Before COVID, I NEVER EVER ordered on line. And this is why, cause you get stuck.
