College student here, can confirm these hacks are all awesome. Allow me to emphasize: Never EVER buy a text book before you attend the first class, like 70% of the time the prof will tell you you don't actually need it. No one expects you to come to class with all the materials the first day in college, so don't worry!
That's good cause my math teacher screamed at me first day highschool why I don't have all the things I need and I was like it's the first freaking day
That's u eeeww
I know this website so that I never have to buy a text book ever and I’m only in 5th grade and I’m thinking about college
@@sarrayvette oh I'm in 6 lol
Yeah and even if a textbook is required, there will usually be a way to find a free pdf online
with the command strips, wait until you actually see your dorm to see the paint/wall condition because the command strips work fine in my dorm and i can't use thumb tacks on the walls because of the building material it's made of. you can also ask your RA to make sure because they'll probably know and they'll recommend what to do to avoid charges lol. if you DO rip the paint off, see if you can file a maintenance request form to fix it before the end of the semester. you don't get charged for anything you file a request form for as long as you submit it before move out time. ALSO you can make friends with the art students on campus because chances are they'll have SOMETHING you can use to fix whatever you broke so that you aren't charged for it or they might know someone who can fix it for you. if you ever need something pretty random that you doubt anyone will have to let you borrow, chances are an art student will have it.
Art student here, can confirm

@@rexlenore477 ✍️✍️✍️
Also, not just the art students but the other students you might see as "rednecks" probably know the DIY way to fix it.
I saw one person fixed it with paint samples from menards
I went to a summer camp once and was on the top bunk. I woke up on the bottom bunk though and was insanely confused. I asked my roommate and she said I fell off the bed in the middle of the night. I asked how I got on the bottom bunk and she told me I crawled up. I asked if I said anything since I remembered nothing and she said I said "ow"
Man
Gahlee 😭😭
I’m sorry bro but I laughed 😂

I can tell you as a college student that I used every single one of these hacks and they make life so much easier. I think the only times I took an 8am class is when the good professors are teaching at that time
PLEASE I STILL HAVE LIKE 2 YEARS BEFORE COLLEGE AND IM LOOKING AT THIS STUFF BECAUSE I HATE NOT KNOWING WHAT IM SUPPOSED TO DO. THANK YOU FOR SOMEWHAT QUELLING MY ANXIETY

True story about that last one... the first morning ever that I woke up in my college dorm, I FELL OFF THE BED ON THAT HARD FLOOR. That really hurted. My bed wasn't even that high, it was like 4 ft off the ground, but STILL. It's quite a morning when you leap off the bed to turn your alarm off, before realizing your bed is in the air 😂
I knew a guy who lofted his bed one day and that night the building flooded so the alarms went off and everyone had to evacuate. He forgot he had lofted his bed, so he just leaped off his bed in a panic and fell like six feet. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
**hurt

@@creativehorsequeen sad
My mother who went to the same college: DON’T DO THE LOFTED BEDS-
Me who just submitted the lofted bed thingy thing Idk: Too late-
Mom: don’t leap off the bed when you need to turn off the alarm. You’ll regret it and fall 5 ft. And bruise ur head
I’m not even in high school, but i still watch these videos like my life depends in it 😂
I'm going to 6th grade and I just watch them like I will remember this guy and all his college hacks 😂

Going into student teaching now, and so many of these are accurate. (Though I didn’t have the issue with command strips because my current school housing has cinderblock walls)
I'm graduating high school soon and I will DEFINITELY be using all this advice. Thanks.
2:14 I just started college this fall and my schedule was not that spread out originally:
Start of the semester- M/W/Th- 2 T-3 F-0. Now I have it as M/W/Th- 1 T-2 F-0. I’m glad that I was able to drop some of my classes before it was too late. It definitely makes my first semester of College a lot less stressful.
with the textbook thing as well, ALWAYS wait until after the first day to purchase it because chances are the professors will either give you access to the textbook online for free, just the pages you need for their class, or they tell you the specific version you need and you can find a free pdf version of it instead
"it's worse then the divorce court" that had me wheezing 😂😂
for the first tiktok, to cover up the holes, use white-out as well. but I recommend blue-tack more.
“That is against the rules” (Mac and cheese bit) lmao as he WINKS 😂😂
I love how I’m watching this instead of studying for finals to get into a good college. Best part is I’m not even going to an American college (I’m Spanish so I’ll probably go to a uni here in Spain)
Lmao i'mma go to one in India, it's fine
Oh cool my friend's in a Spain college!
I'm planning on going to a Russian one. (Don't worry, I have been learning Russian and talking to the other students attending said college will help me improve in speaking the language.)
I’ve still got four years until college, but it’s never too early to start planning, right?
It is. Focus on the present (highschool)
@@shaif2664 it’s not that deep chill
same lol, but I get so anxious about these things
Same.
Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it
why aren't there more likes? These are so helpful!
I’m genuinely exited for collage now
Excited** just trying to help :D
first you got to pass the 5th grade spelling bee
that’ll fade. realllllyyyyyy fast

Bestie your not gonna get into *collage* if you spell like that.
I don't know why.. I just like the idea of college. It's probably that everything is down to me for once since in college you have so much more freedom. Like.. going to the bathroom!
College: just go whenever
Secondary school(high school): nahh, just piss on the seat. You aren't going anywhere.
Me: A high school sophomore “Cool, I’m gonna forget all of this”
sameee, I'm saving it for later so when the time comes I'll just rewatch and make a list loL!
Me who is just starting the 8th grade now knowing I’m going to be more prepared for collage than most freshmen in college:
I'm in 7th, but here I am I love preparing
Ayy your my age
Yeah lol I’m grade 10 and I’m so hyped for college lol
I don't even know if I wanna go to college or highschool
Same lol this makes me excited for college
Lol this reminds me a thousand times of college. I collected these tips mentally mostly in my first semester and by my third semester I felt like a walking college advice encyclopedia
Nowhere near college, but when I get to college I will definitely try to schedule classes earliest 10:30, cause you guys, I need my beauty sleep.
Here's the ultimate tip for college: DON'T let people pressure you into going to college!!! Particularly in the US, the 4 year university has become little more than a money making scheme. Back when I was graduating high school years ago, I WISH that the world had been more honest and let us know that it really would not be the end of the world if you didn't attend college. I could have avoided a lot of financial loss as well as a lot of strife between me and my parents if the whole world weren't trying to convince to both me AND my parents that you MUST continue schooling right after high school. The only good thing about my college experience is that it connected me with my fiancée.
Unfortunately my parents have pressured me into community college cause of the free tuition ☹️
The command strips rip the paint because people just pull them off the wall. If you look at the instructions you're suppose to pull the tab in the back. if you pull the tab in the back down it removes with no ripping.
That last one I believe I had a lofted bed about 5 feet up and there were quite a few times where I would literally wake up against the railing and that was keeping me from plummeting to my death
I remember signing up for classes and my advisor telling me about Rate My Professors. So I started using it the second semester of my freshman year.
I'm not kidding when I say that I opened up a google doc and took notes 😂
in my country giving birth is very low but in rural its expensive.( Normal childbirth cost about BDT 800 at the thana health complex and BDT 1600 at the medical college hospital, and emergency caesarean section cost about BDT 13,000. With other complications, the estimated costs were BDT 20,000-25,000, a huge amount for poor, rural families.)
You are bamgladeshi I see
@@rock.skz_tar yep
0:19 sadly at my school, we’re not allowed to use thumb tacks. You just have to be gentle with your Command strips and use on-brand strips. You can also heat them a little with a blow dryer to weaken the adhesive and they’ll come right off
With the career fair. Don't sleep on free stuff. Yeah a lot of it is crazy you won't use or will break. Don't worry if it has plastic, someone else will get it and they will throw it out, so give yourself the chance to decide if you want it. My senior year, I was handing out school sunglasses, which were garbage. A lot of the freshmen walked by with a polite no thank you. I was annoyed how few people were taking them. Show I shouted "Free stuff get your free stuff, next semester your favorite thing will be free stuff." I got some of the freshmen to walk back and grab some, I also got their parents too.
Oh gosh. I’m having the most cheapest and undignified university life. I’m an online student cause time managing is hard with the amount of work they put you through. (Also I can’t drive and waking up to commute would take up half my energy). Chores and exercise get a 2-4 hours each a week. I don’t buy anything, I live with my parents, I don’t leave the house, and I take out the biggest student loans. I study in my pajamas on the bed and switch my television from the lecture to RUclips every five minutes. I wake up between 10am to 12pm. I study anytime after 2pm. My work length is 4-6 hours, 8 if I’m feeling obliged. I go to sleep after 1am. Even with how minuscule that is, I sincerely don’t understand how people can have a job at the same time.
I keep my lifestyle limited because I know working heavily throughout high school was detrimental to my health. It’s not something I want to put myself through again. Lowering my performance expectations is also highly necessary. I need to take my time actually learning instead of emulating what looks successful.
I know I just dumped all my life into this. But if you chose an alternative study method (and probably studying in a non-US country), the lifestyle will presumably be different. You will have to figure out different tips and find out what works best for you. I think being healthy is the best option. But if you’re in NZ like me and must take 4 papers at once to be considered studying full-time, it’s okay to consider making a sacrifice. Most of my friends don’t make a big fuss about it like I do, but always recognise your limits.

Uni student here. Crocs or shoes for sticky or dirty floors. They have been a life saver after massive parties.
I’m in middle school rn but I’m kinda excited for college rn😁
I learned really quickly from my parents before I even got to college when I came to class schedules that my freshman year of college I only had one class in the morning and there was at 10:30 in the morning all the rest of my classes were either in the evening or afternoon
0:01 A legend was born…
Congrats on 1million today
I dont agree with not rooming with your bestie. I did it for two years and avoided having a terrible experience with strangers freshman year. But make sure you really know them and their habits.
Me not in college: Oh well good to know for now
I swear, this guy is my hero.
It's the fact I lofted by brd in college my freshman year and I move in my sleep also I didn't fall off my bed. The one time being short was a life saver at 4'6.
THANK FOR THE COMPILATION!!!
5:46 this sounds like it’s from experience.
8:40 I would somehow fall off WITH a railing.
We had painted cinderblock walls, so tacks don't work. We were told to use PlastiTac, which is a malleable, kneadable sort of white (or sometimes blue) sticky-stuff that goes on your wall. It's really fun to play with, and I highly recommend it for use on tabletob games, where you have to end the session before the battle is over.
But it's not so great on painted cinderblock walls.
My recommendation? Just bite the bullet and don't bother to decorate your walls. Use table lamps, instead of string lights. Use potted plants or mini statues, instead of posters. Or maybe just focus on your desk and your bedding, and leave the floor space empty, because you have basically none, anyway.
Definitely bring your own quilt, comforter, or WARM blanket. The dorm will provide basic bedding, but it is SO basic, it will barely keep you warm on a SUMMER night, let alone winter! Plus, it's boring.
Oh! You know what can help brighten up a room? A bed-ruffle! Plus, it hides all the junk you are storing under your bed, because of space limitations.
I’m only in 7th and I watch these videos like I’m going tomorrow omg 😂
The speed at which he talks is perfect omg
Now I know what to do in college when I’m done with high school in a few years
in elementary, i woke up at 4:30am. 5 times a week. i am genuinely surprised at myself because now, i stay up *until* 4:30am.
The ending ✨✨✨
My dad and his high school best friend actually loved it
Don’t schedule a 8am… alright, 7am Mechanics of Materials lab here I come.
THANK YOU SCOTT
I’m not even going to college and yet I still religiously watch these 😭
bro my brother is on his last year of college and he’s been wearing his lanyard for all his college years💀
Me being in 7th grade thinking im going to remember this for college
I am a college student and i am thankful that all of there college tips and hacks are useful and helpful!
I fell of a bunkbed once onto a rock floor. I don’t know how it happened but I just had like a tiny purple bruise on my leg 😭 And the funny thing is I didn’t wake up when I fell- I woke up later tho!
My college classes are 8am to 12pm and I swear I feel like I am taking 4am classes.
I'm a 11 year old and I will never forget these
I love watching the shirts change color 😂😂😂
I can vouch for most of these except for the the paint one. I don't live in a traditional dorm. It's more of an apartment than a dorm.
The 8 am classes are okay. I recommend doing it if you have a ton of time and want to do it. Try not to do it for your first semester though. Get a feeling of how its going to be then you will be okay.
some of these things (like the don't get in a relationship so soon one) are really specific
I made the bathroom mistake my first class first semester of college; my teacher looked at me and asked "you just graduated last fall didn't you?" I was like "yeah" and he told me "well so you know, you don't have to ask you can just leave" never asked again
I LOVE THESE
I fell of my bed when i was like 9 and it had railing, i was just sleeping on the end of the bed where there wasn't any, like an idiot. I fell and kept sleeping, i was in pain but for some reason i didn't fully wake up until my parents came into the room lol. Apparently i made a really loud crashing sound. My back hurt for a week.
Nah I’m 100% rooming with my best friend lmaoo
But the other tips are very helpful tho! Thanks so much!❤️
I love how he talks to us like he is currently in college!
"airplane rules apply" lmao
If you do end up having to buy your books before the semester starts, send them to your mailbox on campus. Most colleges will allow you to send stuff to your mailbox over the summer. I do this every year and it is so much easier because then I don't have to pack them.
I’m not even in college or the US but I think these tips and tricks could come in handy! Thanks!
also, go to the career fairs with copies of your CV printed to hand out!!! give them out like candy!!!
Putting it out there, Apple gives at least $100 off a Mac or iPad if you buy before October 1 of your freshman year
Learn to repair things, especially if you're going to be living in a dorm! Money is tight for most students, and I'm always shocked how many of my peers replace things that could be repaired. They aren't on packing lists, but every student should have super glue and a small sewing kit at the very least.
Start of a legend
Why am I watching this series I’m not even going to college soon
Him: "don't EVER room with your besties!"
Me, who has known my best friends for many MANY years and has had to live with and or spend nights with them for extended amounts of times before: *"No."*
Tip: at 6:44 when he said use a Push pin It will be harder covering it up at the End of the year so Get blue tack Instead
I’m definitely saving this video for when my brother goes to college because he only has his last year of middle school and then he has high school so it’s not that far away
First x✨
Love ur videos
Thanks for watching! 😊
Heading into 5th year of college.
Y’all better listen to this advice cause I NEEDED IT GROWING UP AHHHHHHHH 😅😅😅
I'm shocked that any college/university still uses the system where classes are scheduled based on a guess as to how much demand there will be and then students have to hope it's possible to get what they need. This problem was solved decades ago through preregistration where students select their classes and _then_ they are scheduled. This minimizes conflicts, helps insure there are enough sessions and avoids classes with multiple mostly empty sessions.
Yes, it means it's harder to avoid early morning classes but you also avoid having to take an entire extra term just because an important class kept having the one session you could take filling up.
I’m in high school and I bring an umbrella every day because a lot of my classes require going outside to get to, and I walk to a pick up spot after school.
And I knew to make sure to not have any back-to-back classes only one class in my freshman year first semester was back to back with a 15 minute break in between all the rest of my classes had anywhere from an hour to 5 hours between them
Your school will sometimes have student days for awesome locations! Enjoy!
The last one got me😭😂💀
POV: YoU aren't in near to being in collage or uni but ur bored
This makes me so nervous lol
As someone who constantly will roll around, throwing everything off my bed in the process, railings are necessary.
How I got a headache by watching a video
The Harry Potter part of my mind: How dare he insult the grand staircase!
The logical part: Ha! All the drama in the Sorcerer’s Stone started because of that bloody staircase!
The Harry Potter part: It’s the Philosopher’s Stone!
*procceds to argue*
P.S. I’m not kidding, I really had a headache because of this😅
When you have been besties since 2nd grade and are like sister: Now I know your point- But we don't care we almost never get in fights we are like the same person
This is kinda off topic but the one talking about finding your classes in I think 6th grade I went to that school for 5th and 6th I had to ask the teacher where the bathroom was because I NEVER use public bathrooms due to my anxiety and a other things that get triggered by public areas but I after I asked she said the school year was almost done and I don’t know where the bathroom was and she got mad at me (I had a LOTTTT of issues with that teacher) I kinda got pay back for delaying class for starting a ‘show your pet’ during online class 😂
The amount of notes I have rn..are there anymore of these?! I swear this is so helpful and funny at the same time 😂
Thank you god I've been so nervous😂
Best tip on the last one for me bc Ima kung fu fighter in my sleep 😂😂😂
I have a web design class that lasts for four hours and ends after 9pm. I do not remember SHIT that happens beyond the first hour or so.
8:38 me hearing Nebraska: Wow😀 I live there.
the railing on the lofted bed in genius because i sleep on like the edge of my bed LIKE THE VERY EGDE and i will wake up to dreams of me falling off my bed and my jumping cuz i think i fell off my bed and then almost off my bed ....i may buy a rail right now because now that im typping it out it just sounds like a smart invesment
I’m a middle schooler and I always bring an umbrella with me. So I’m already 1step ahead 😌
The schedule thing is very accurate, I have 4( I'm a freshman) and there's already a lot
POV: Your college tells you to use command strips because they know they’ll get money out of it later.
