  • Noctua has been known for years as the premier brands when it comes to fans and cooling, but they have never made a laptop cooling pad, well today that changes, as we decided to take things into our own hands and build a complete custom solution feature 3 Noctua industrial PPC NF-F12 fans! This was an incredibly fun project and it performed way above my expectations, beating out nearly ever laptop cooler out there on the market including the Llano laptop cooler and IETS GT600.

Airflow highly restricted with those hole layouts.

Very cool, though it would probably work much better with a less restrictive fan grille.

You are completely right and next time i definitely want to change that if I can find a better solution.

Very nice videos!! It really looks like you know your way around coolers! I am having a bit of difficulty finding a cooler that is big enough for my 18" laptop....... Any suggestions for bigger laptops?

This is exactly the project i was looking for! Thanks a lot!
The llano and iets do not sell here in my country, and importing them would make their cost get over 200 dollars... And the ones without foam make really no difference in my temps
I will try to 3d print something like it!

Then this would be a great option as it was the closest thing I’ve seen to those coolers

you should also cover the other holes on the stand that not used by fans. It would increase pressure. And maybe open extra holes to fans? or cut a circle shape for fans? I think you can upgrade setup and make another video :D

Lets Tell Them to do so, with way less grill to interfere

Of course that would be sweet. I might have to say something at computex this year.

Good job. It might be loud, but it probably isn't any worse than my Dell with a 13980hx. That this is always going and always HOT.

Your design beats the IETS Gt600 and Llano v12 when you use a Delta fan 120 mm 6000 rpm with proper dust filter. For overkill Nidec G1438X54 BMZP a 140 mm fan with a max rpm 15000.
